The Brotherhood of Nod

"So I take it the virus is ready and perfected? At least that is what you have said in your latest report." Jonathan Merlow, Minister of Information, said.
"Yes, it is complete. We have tested it hundreds of times on hundreds of different systems, and it is perfect." replied Igor Watts, head of Project Pandora.
"I hope for you it is indeed as you say. Anyway, I have spoken to High Command and they have ordered the virus to be released to the world. So do it."

"Alright, we have permission to release the virus. Is the final version ready for release?"
"It is, Mr. Watts. All we have to do is to spread it out, and wait."
"Good. CABAL?"
"Ready for insertion of the virus into all specified targets." the AI replied.
"Very well CABAL, begin spread of the virus." Igor Watts commanded.
Silently, CABAL began inserting the virus into a huge number of servers, networks, Brotherhood hackers managed to get in. Igor Watts followed the process on one of the screens. The adresses of all targets appeared on the screen after oneanother, some red, indicating CABAL couldn't get immediate access to the target server, but most were green, indicating a succesfull infiltration. Ofcourse there was no direct connection between the facility and the targets; all communication was rerouted via either previously hacked servers, via some of the many fake companies set up by the Brotherhood's intelligence agencies around the world, all running anonimous proxy servers, or via private computers within the Brotherhood, almost all under CABAL's control.

"Mylord, CABAL has successfully infected 1500 locations by now, more are being infected as I speak. So far, Project Pandora is a success." Watts said.
"I will see if it is a success when I see any results from it." Kane replied. "But you are correct in that it looks promising so far. Keep an eye on it and keep me updated on the progress of the project."
"Yes mylord."
Kane turned towards one of the screens on the wall. It read:
Successfully infected 213.234.0.12.112.34.556.34.12
Successfully infected 193.110.222.82.18.33.98.48.78
Successfully infected 93.81.11.227.266.83.50.1.5
Failed to infect 34.1.229.98.27.46.22.132.4
Successfully infected 76.123.235.76.6.80.34.221.45
TOTAL INFECTED: 1727 TOTAL FAILED: 211 TOTAL ATTEMPTS: 1938
Kane watched Oxanna Kristos and Anton Slavick enter the room.
"You sent for us, mylord?" Oxanna said.
"I did." Kane answered. "Project Pandora has started exactly twenty-three minutes ago and is so far successfull. At this moment I have" -he looked to the monitor briefly- "1749 computers at my command, ready to launch a wave of information warfare on any target I wish to strike. If all goes well that number shall increase to several tens of thousands in the next few days. Combined with the bandwith of CABAL itself and that of the computers in the Brotherhood it controls, we can disable almost any target we wish. This was already possible, ofcourse, but now we can do it anonymously. Besides, the infected servers may have interesting information on them, for CABAL will specifically try to insert it into government- and military computers around the world. They may hold interesting information."
"And they will not notice?" Slavick asked. "I find that hard to believe, mylord."
"My programmers worked on this virus for months, with the help of CABAL. If any sentient being knows how to hide something in the virtual world, it's him. And even if the virus is noticed, I have taken all possible precautions against discovery."
"I'm sure our allies will love our viruses on their systems, mylord." Slavick said.
"They will hardly notice. CABAL has been instructed not to try to infect their servers, and the virus was not designed for most of the software they use. For the rest, it falls under the "collateral damage" category" Kane replied, grinning.
