The Nationstates Interregional League (NIL) Signup

Before I start, can I just say that if you have not read the other thread related to this topic, entitled 'The First Ever Nationstates Soccer League (or at least in recent history)', it may be an idea to do so, as it outlines basic theory of simulation and what I need from you when you signup, although I will reiterate that part in this thread.

Anyway, here it is! After 24 hours of intense preparation. I am ready to begin signup. The Nationstates Interregional League (NIL) is a non-exclusive (i.e. anybody can participate) soccer league which I am hoping will consist of twenty teams from across the Nationstates globe (after a rigorous play-off session) although it could be more or less depending on initial interest in the idea.

I am assuming that if you are interested, then you know the rules of the game, so I won't go into how the league works, as it works the same as any other (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss).

If you do decide, "Yes, I think my team is good enough to win the NIL and do it in a remarkably fashionable and emphatic style," (or something similar to that) then sign up. It's really very simple. All you have to do is post your reply on this thread and you will be added to the play off schedule. You will need to include a few details so that I can write news sheets after every round. These details are as follows:

1) Full Team Name (must include your nation's name somewhere)
2) Manager Name (nothing obscene please)
3) Stadium Name (same as please. I don't want any Gay Meadows)
4) Style Of Play (defensive, balanced or attacking)
5) Aggressiveness (low, normal or high)

Please think about the last two carefully, because you cannot change them afterwards. Let me give you some idea as to how they work. The more attacking you are, the more chances you have and the more likely you are to score. However, the more attacking you are, the more chances your opponent has to score, and so you are more likely to concede, too. Simlarly, the more aggressive you are, the fewer chances your opponents will have to score. However the more aggressive you are the more likely you are to collect red and yellow cards, or give away penalties.

I hope this creates some interest, and I hope I can get this thing started soon, so just hurry up ad sign on. The NIL has already attracted some attention from some big names in the Nationstates footballing world, so come on and get involved! It's only a bit of fun, after all!

Okay, I have decided to cut off the application process when I have 16 teams - in other words, there are only five places left to fill! Of course, what this does mean is that there will be no play offs. I know how disappointed you will all be, so instead I have another special surprise. All members of the NIL will be going on a summer tour of Earth! Each team will play three different teams from across the globe, in an attempt to show just how good they are. I have consulted the world, and here are the teams willing to participate, along with the country that team belongs to:

Al Ittihad (Saudi Arabia)
Birkirkara (Malta)
CF Monterrey (Mexico)
Enugu Rangers (Nigeria)
FC Nantes (France)
Los Angeles Galaxy (USA)
Middlesbrough FC (England)
Olimpia (Paraguay)
PSV Eindhoven (Holland)
Reggina (Italy)
River Plate (Argentina)
Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine)
Trabzonspor (Turkey)
Villareal CF (Spain)
Wollongong Wolves (Australia)
Zamalek (Egypt)

I will work out the tour fixtures when all spaces have been filled. This is a once in a life time opportunity, so feel proud that you are the few nations able to bridge the gap between this world and the Nationstates world.

OOC

Just for your info, in Australia we are rebuilding our national soccer league and at the moment most of the former teams don't exist as they did before including the Wollongong Wolves. Perth Glory were last champions and they'll still be around for the new league.

Unfortunately, it is too late to change the Australian entry, as all the fixtures have already been decided. I won't tell you who you'll be playing yet, as we still need one more applicant. Once we have that person, I will start a new thread, giving the details of the World Tour. Now, what shall I call it...I know! How about the NIL World Tour?! Perfect! If any of you know someone who might possibly be interested in filling our vacancy, please press the issue upon them until they succumb to your desires. The sooner we get this person, the sooner we can start.

BTW, since my team's name is quite long, I really don't care if it gets abbreviated to Hersfold NFL. I did on the North Pacific Tourney.

I have advertized this tournament to The North Pacific on thier official forum, http://s2.invisionfree.com/The_North_Pacific

Well, we have our sixteen teams ready to play, and so we're all off to sunny Earth on a let of luxury airliners to face the teams of the real world. The World Tour begins tomorrow, so expect the new thread, entitled 'The NIL World Tour' to be up soon. The sixteen teams ready to show their intent on Earth are:

The Belmore Family Reserves
Jerusalem United
Audioslavia XI
West Pacific Nationals
Squornshelous Pschychoes
Halfassed Heros
Dinamo Maserrat
Bedistan Stars
Tothampton FC
AFC Westleigh
Racculli Ravens
Pottersk Wanderers
Graham City FC
Macrodisiac Masters
Hersfold National Football League
Brotherhood National Soccer Team

After the three warm up games, it's back to the Nationstates World to begin the league. Then the real fun begins. The warm ups also gives me a chance to make some alterations to the systems, to make the game even more realistic. Hopefully this league lives up to your expectations and mine. We'll show Liverpool England how feasible this idea is!
