I am honoured, as the UN Delegate for the Great Seas of Adroryn, to open this, the first Conference on Regional Growth for The Great Seas of Adroryn. Many of the nations in our fair region have been dropping off the face of the earth of late, and we need to do something in order to inspire a new level of growth and stability in this region.

More than anything else, we believe in the inherent beauty and associated qualities of this region, and believe that it is worth saving. Thus, we ask that all members of The Great Seas of Adroryn attend this Conference and contribute your ideas. Any new nations who desire membership within the region are more than welcome to join, or to seek alliance as part of another region - this to be decided upon by the Conference and private discussion.

Now, it gives me great pleasure to introduce Her Most Serene Majesty, Queen Mezzen, the keeper of the Eternal Elusive, who shall officially open this Conference.

Thank you, Norosca, and welcome to all of The Great Seas of Adroryn. I realize that this Conference has taken quite some time to get started, but now that we have started, let us forge ahead and find what we need to make this region what we all know that it can, and should be: a place of peace and tranquility, a place where nature and all peoples co-exist in an unoppressed manner, enjoying a great life with wonderful economic promise. Adroryn has a great deal to offer any new nation, and any nation coming into this region will quickly discover that this region is distinctive for the way its people stand by one another.

I hope that, through this conference, we will be able to explore some strategies and solutions to the issue of regional growth, and that, in time, we shall see The Great Seas of Adroryn grow to fulfill its promise of being one of the finest places on the earth to live.

Mezzenrach Today reports Serious Unrest at Conference on Regional Growth

A massive security contingent has just arrived on Adroryn Airships. Several hundred armed commandos have set up a perimiter outside the Royal Palace of the Queendom of Mezzenrach having reveived threats that an attempt would be made to assasinate Queen Mezzen.

The elite Leopard Brigade of Her Majesty's Private Guard has also been deployed, armed with their specially trained Leopards and troops trained in various manners of hand-to-hand conduct, these "shock" troops are some of the most fearsome soldiers in all of the known world.

In a statement issued from an undisclosed location, Queen Mezzen stated that she and the royal family were safe, and that there was no reason to worry about security measures at this time. She emphasised that she has full confidince in the Leopard Brigade's ability to secure the Conference grounds.

"This Conference MUST continue," Queen Mezzen said emphatically, "Adroryn needs this Conference to continue."

bumb (the meaning of which suddenly becomes clear ...)

a bump, called in from the distinguished Prime Minister Tambadahl auf Mezzenrach. Her hair appointment was running late, or she would have posted it herself. Same effect in the end.

Once again, with the insane forces of evil arrayed against us, in an effort to end this Conference before it has started ... it becomes necessary to post yet another BUMP.

Queen Mezzen walks into the Royal Banquet Hall and looks around, wondering why the Leopards are eating all of the Pate, and notices that the orchestra is beginning to look nervous.

"Well, don't just stand around you dullards!" She shouts, "we're paying you good Mezzens to be here, regardless of whether or not there are other delegates here. I want to hear MUSIC. How about some "Slavonic Dances" - or better yet, yes - this would be perfect - why don't you play the "Concerto for Orchestra" by Bela Bartok".

The conductor looked at the queen in dismay, realizing that this was not going to be an easy gig. "Yes, your majesty," he replied, bowing deeply as he took up his baton and turned towards the orchestra. "Well, you heard the Queen, she wants the Bartok. Any objections?" It was a question that none would dare answer, though the first violinist sitting behind the Concertmaster had begun tapping his foot nervously. He hated the "Concerto", with all of its complex rhythms and harmonies. Mostly, he hated having to play the solos - he wasn't as strong a player as he should be, and this piece made those weaknesses glaringly apparent.

The violinist didn't notice the large leopard slink up next to him, attracted by the rhythmic tapping of his foot. As the cat turned around the unfortunate violinist violated the primary rule of Mezzenrach: Never step on a Leopard's tail.

"Hark, is that the sound of screaming I hear?" Queen Mezzen said, as the violinist howled in pain, blood gushing from the stump of his right leg.

"Fools, How many times have I told them, 'don't step on the Leopard's tails?!'
Idiots. Fools ..." The Queen looked around and saw her Minister Without Portfolio, and UN Delegate, Norosca Meneste, "Norosca, would you please be so kind as to summon an ambulance for the violin player - he seems to be missing his right foot. Also, summon the Royal Vet, Post Haste - we must make sure that the Leopard doesn't get ill."

Then, Queen Mezzen turned back to the conductor and said, "I suggest you start playing, Maestro. This time, however, let's not upset the Leopards."

... and the band played on ....
