Atlantian Outcasts

The modern Atlantian race arose on the Planet of Atlantis in the Sentinel system about 2 million BC.
Atlantian nations where called “Houses”. They slowly developed into 10. The most powerful where Ra and Poseidon. When the house of Zeus had no heir, the two both claimed it. Minor skirmishes led to all out warfare. All of the other houses took sides. Several years later, the war ended with Ra being obliterated by Nuclear bombs.
The change in climate for the worse because of the bombs, and the failure of the economy left many in anger. They joined the “Optimum Movement”, led by a man known as “Alpha”. The weak perished, as Homeless shelters and Hospitals were banned. Science also suffered, as Libraries and Universities where banned. Soon, the Movement controlled most of Atlantis.
Some attempts at Space travel where created as people tried to escape the movement and the dying climate. The movement managed to crush most of them....but a few managed to succeed. In time, hidden space satellites where created and launched, armed with weapons. In time, the Movement was overthrown, thanks to both the weapons and a general uprising.
Atlantis was unified soon after. The different Houses where tired of fighting with each other. A new thirst for expansion began. Several nearby systems where subjugated by the new Atlantian fleets. An empire was born.
On Earth, an island chain in the Atlantic was home to a race of humans that where abducted by another race. They where genetically manipulated for slave labor. Eventually, they where let go and found a location inside the Kuiper belt in the Sol system to live.
Meanwhile, a large Demon force was trapped inside a pocket dimension by a race known as the Zoir. Knowing that the Demons would return with another force someday, they created a large fleet. The fleet required a large empire. So the Zoir expanded. Many systems resisted, including Atlantis. All fell. Atlantis took the longest to be destroyed—ten years.
Many escape attempts where created. One was planet-wide cloaks. Some nearby systems tried this, and it worked. The Zoir never discovered them. Calling themselves the Neo-Atlantians, they started building a new fleet in secret.
Several escape ships where also launched. Some where destroyed upon launch. Some managed to jump, but never found a suitable planet, so, the people there died, or went into stasis. One reached Earth. It landed on an island chain in the Atlantic. The people rebuilt, and began creating a new empire. Both Egypt and Greece where conquered. They formed an alliance with the Centaurs. They eventually became Atlantian citizens
However, Athens managed to steal a good deal of Atlantian tech. And, with several smart tactical decisions, they outsmarted the Atlantians and crushed their forces. Meanwhile, several Atlantian “Prisoners” infiltrated the capital and set off a doomsday weapon, the Thermal Bomb. It melted the Icecaps and sunk Atlantis, leaving only the Azores behind. The remaining Atlantians where scattered 10,000 BC.
Meanwhile, the Zoir Empire was decimated by a virus created by a subjugated race. Anarchy ensued.
About 20 years ago, Atlantians and Centaurs began migrating to a chain of islands in the Pacific, near the APTO mainland. The houses where re-formed, and a Federation was created.
AO was a war mongering nation in its infant days. From the 1st and 2nd Rukemian wars, to the Elarian civil war, to its own civil war, AO only had one defeat, the Elarian civil war. It created an alliance with several other smaller nations. It was called the ASN (Alliance of Smaller Nations). Its closest tie was with Novus Italia. Several Elves also began arriving in AO at this time. The house of Isis created the Morning Star was a terrorist weapon, but the government took it and used it for itself.
After the Elarian civil war, AO entered a period of isolation. They began re-creating their old space tech. In time, they entered the APTO....where they finally made amends with Elara.
Eventually, they colonized another planet in a near-by cluster. In time, all Atlantians left Earth. Several planets where colonized. The Zoir had regrouped.....and tensions where at 1st very hot between them and AO.
However, the Demon force locked away along time ago finally broke loose. They swept through our part of the galaxy, and AO and Zoir became allies out of necessity. Other galactic powers joined the fight. LRR, Xanthal, as well as many others. Another terrorist group, the Loki Loyalists, declared that the Demons would rid all that was unclean. They where wrong. A short period of civil unrest was caused because of them.
A massive civil war rocked AO. Loki and Isis conspired to take down the Government. However, the leader “Alpha” (taking the name from the old ”Alpha” of the Optimum movement) failed in his plan to destroy the AO senate, even though the building was.
Recently, An expedition found the Atlantian Homeworld. What’s left of it, anyway. In doing so, however, they came in contact with the Neo-Atlantians. They tricked the Zoir and Atlantians, although they managed to escape. And although the jump node to the NA was shut down, a fleet managed to escape into the Sol system. What happens next is yet to be seen.
AO is entering a new war, agenst the Drovians, an old enemy of the Elarians.
