Asami is in the lab, pondering. She has been told a rough overview of what will happen, nonetheless... Well, she will see. Mephet'ran smiles, "Well, the first thing you can do is take off your clothes and come lie on the table dear."
Asami yawns. "Business as usual?" She does so, though, undressing rather quickly (Which is easy, considering her rather light clothing), and lying down. "What was it, again? Psi enhancement, physical structure, both?"
Mephet'ran chuckles quietly, walking over to the warm metal table with her, "Today we'll do physical, next time, I'll see about some telekinesis for you." Asami nods. "Shiny..." She then waits, though she follows his movements. Apparently, she isn't nervous, neither is she scared... Mephet'ran decides to play a little prank, "Usually, this is where someone would apply the anaesthetic..."
Asami pouts. "But I'm rather interested in watching the progress..."
"But in your case, I won't bother with that stuff..." He smiles cruelly.
Asami nods. "Good. Wouldn't want to be kept from learning..."
Mephet'ran sighs, rather irritated, yet pleased, that she seems to trust him so much, and wanders around behind her, talking all the while, "First things first, I think I shall put in a little implant to do some genetic restructuring for me." Asami nods, being used to this kind of thing... of course, Where she comes from, such a process takes several years, if not decades. "I'm ready, doctor Mephet'ran."
Mephet'ran smiles, "You know, I'm not actually a doctor of medicine," he says. His bedside manner is wonderfully disconcerting. After a moment he comes back with a little object, about a millimetre across. Redundantly he orders her to hold still, while quickly removing her ability to move. Asami wouldn't move, anyway... Well, not much, there is always some jittering... She notices her influence, and gets slightly annoyed... But oh well, she can't change it, anyway. No answer can be heard... Not moving does, after all, mean not moving her lips... Yet, her heart still beats. It's likely just parts of her muscles
Mephet'ran is indeed, doing it selectively as he's doing to her senses to prevent discomfort, he'd rather keep her alive. He holds the device in his fingers, and reaches into her chest somewhere, carefully placing the little device, which is carefully protien coated to seem to be a part of her, and so on, into some tissues with appropriately large blood supply. After a moment he takes his hand aside, and dephases the little thing. Asami watches interestedly, her heartbeat surprisingly calm. It is kinda new... And strange, for her. She did, in fact, expect some more fancy tech equipment.
Though Mephet'ran has it, he has no real need to use it. "There, that should take a few days and then go inert until I see a reason to trigger it again."
Trigger? Again? She asks, telepathically. Should have thought about it earlier... Well, the situation is a bit unusual.
"It's a remote controlled device," he says, walking over to a table again, "It will make modifications as I order it to, and should last indefinitely."
I see... Well, I guess I will witness some surprises during the next days... And the rest of my life.
"Oh don't worry, I'll tell you if I can. By the way, how long would you like to live?"
"Uh... I never intended to die in the first place..."
"Fair enough, immortality then?" he asks, waving a hand over a part of the table coloured a glossy black, in some complex gesture.
Asami blinks. "Well... I wouldn't mind... But..." She hesitates. "Well... How save is it?" She doesn't mean the technology itself... more likely her own capability to stand it over millennia. But then... She would still live longer. "Anyway... I wouldn't mind at all."
Mephet'ran smiles, "I'm sure you'll either get used to it, or I can always undo it for you if it gets too much."
Asami nods. "Well... At least it's a nice opportunity... So... Go on." A moment of various considerations follows. "Oh... Did you happen to do such things in the past or... Am I some sort of... experiment for it?" she asks, just a little worried.
"Oh it's quite a safe procedure, I've done it quite a few times with humans."
Asami nods. "I'm all yours... Well, I am that, anyway..."
Mephet'ran chuckles, "That's effectively done then. Now, senses. Are you happy with your eyesight and so on?" Asami , being the product of several generations of extensive genetic engineering, not to mention subtle cybernetics, could theoretically answer with a clear 'yes'. However, She had never been a part of the elites... So, while her genetics are relatively good, her implants are... on the bottom end of the quality spectrum. Not to mention the possibilities the local technologies opens to her. "Well... As long as it doesn't ruin my looks... They aren't perfect, and could be better. Not to mention that it is hard to find people able to maintain my old implants, here."
"Just what implants do you have anyway?" he asks, placing something on her forehead, cutting off her sight for a while. Asami ponders. "Dear god... I forgot to take my medical data with me... Didn't expect to stay for... well, ever. Let me think..." She ponders a little. There are the ports in her spinal cords... The additions to her brain, the thingies I her ears... Oh, right, crude additions to her nervous system, a few nanites in her blood, and a few other things... Not having studied medicine, she is basically unaware of most of these things. Mephet'ran makes a thoughtful little noise, while doing something she can neither see (mercifully) nor feel (even more so) to her eyes.
"Oh well, never mind, I'm sure I'll find something to replace most of them with," he says, "I've got quite a lot of stuff here."
Asami chuckles. "Oh, I'm sure you do." Asami is, however, quite intrigued... This begins to become rather massive...
"Then we'll work on muscles and armour - don't worry, quite un-noticeable," he says.
"Oh, I wouldn't mind it being noticeable... As long as it doesn't make me scream like last time," she answers, smiling... Sweetly.
Mephet'ran laughs, "I mean it won't spoil your looks."
Asami blushes... or at least she thinks she does. "Oh, right."
Mephet'ran makes a little 'humm' noise, "Almost done. I don't suppose you'd like another colour iris?"
"I prefer my old look, yes... Though... What colours do you have?"
"Any you want," he says, quite truthfully, it's a relatively simple matter..."
Asami ponders. "Well, pink would be a bit extreme... Green, I guess. Or transparent... Heck, maybe I'm changing it every month..."
Mephet'ran chuckles, "Transparent would kind of defeat the object of the iris dear... not that it really matters."
Asami pouts. "It's been a while since I have had my last biology class... And it would be unique."
"Pure black would be basically the same. And I think I'll find something that changes colour nicely... It'll take a moment..."
Asami just nods, waiting. She also makes a note to read up on some things. Eventually she can hear him coming back over, "Well, the iris regulates the size of the pupil Though with the eyes I'm giving you, that's merely cosmetic."
Asami chuckles. "I wont inquire any further, and just believe you."
Mephet'ran smiles, as she can see as her eyesight is returned, and gently strokes her hair, "What did the last ones do?"
Asami looks up. "The last ones... what? Eyes?"
"Yes."
Asami shrugs. "Rather cheap version, organic parts stayed, just a few additions to increase things like maximum sight, decrease or increase sensitivity, depending on the situation. For fancy things like zooming I would have paid WAY more than I made with my job... And they are considered out of fashion for people who don#t need them, anyway."
"Humm? Fashion. Well, in your case dear, I've decided to see how many fun things I can add to a human, so, if you'll sit up," he says, letting her move again, "I'll give you a little demonstration."
Asami nods, waiting. He gently takes her hand and leads her out of the room, and along a few corridors and into a lift, which actually goes rather rapidly now. He doesn't bother having her get dressed again. Asami doesn't mind... Is rather used to it, anyway, and it's warm. Still... "So?"
He takes her out of the lift and out to one of the large observation windows overlooking the city, glimmering with assorted movements and life. "Now, you do have zoom on there regardless. Quite an effective one too, it's rather hard making these things work as astronomical telescopes but I don't think you'd care to hear the technobabble..."
Asami nods... tries... Apparently, it functions quite well... Not necessarily perfect, since she is kind of unused to it, but well...
Mephet'ran wraps his arms around her and gets her to practise with them, to the point of being able to clearly see people kilometres away...
Asami does so... She is still kinda unused to it, and the information flow a bit much for her... at the beginning, but that changes soon enough.
"Mhm... Kinky." Asami ponders. "Hard to resist peering into bedrooms..."
Mephet'ran chuckles, "Not really, the kinky things would be the fact that it does the rest of the EM spectrum if you want it too as well." he says, not bothering to explain how the hell these work, given the wavelengths involved, "and yes, it is."
Asami doesn't bother mentioning that the 'kinky' thing was something she saw while doing exactly that, peering through a bedroom window... Apparently, he isn't peering into her mind, right now. "Well... Shiny."
Mephet'ran chuckles, "Now, hearing?"
"Well..." She concentrates for a moment. "Woah, dirty, they are..."
Mephet'ran chuckles, "You know, we do have one of the galaxy's largest 'adult product' industries..."
"Who would have guessed..." She ponders Mephet's... Interests. "Really, I'm surprised."
He giggles, and drags her back to the lab, "Liar..."
"Pft." She follows, quickly.
Mephet'ran orders her to lie again, and quickly replaced the implants in her ears, not really upgrading them all that much, and Asami simply has to endure it. He doesn't see the need to let her hear a sparrow fall ten miles away, he suspects it would irritate her. Asami would note that one could always change the structure of the brain, as far as it works with such signals, too, to make her able to live with this... abilities. But alas, she isn#t asked about it.
Mephet'ran has already done so with her eyes, and isn't sure about the hearing, it's still pretty damned acute anyway. As it is, he blinds her again and gets to upgrading her remaining 'normal' senses.
Asami just... waits for the procedure to end, slightly amused by it. Mephet’ran finishes with that, wondering just why she's slightly amused, and rolls her over onto her front, giving her her sight back again. Asami looks around. "So?"
Asami is, in fact, amused by the casualness of it all...
Mephet’ran lightly runs a hand down her back, "Humm, ports..."
Asami nods. "Well, kinda useless, here..."
"I think I'll leave them, not much point in removing them."
Asami nods. "Well... they will need to be removed within a year or so. Without maintenance..."
"Oh, yes, I suppose so," he says, finally getting around to actually using some tools now, working out just how you remove these... As a matter of fact, it isn't too hard, since the whole thing is kind of supposed to be removed easily... Due to maintenance procedures. Of course, not having a manual makes it a bit harder... But in the end, it isn't much different from putting a computer together.
Mephet’ran eventually drops the removed components onto the table, and considers replacing them, but decides not to bother, and closes her up again there, with a few arcane tricks to accelerate healing. Asami kinda enjoys it... It tickles, and in some way, it is sorta erotic. Well... a few things are missing now, and her spinal cord will have some trouble with the information flow, but it wont be anything serious.
Mephet’ran is in any case, going to replace much of her spinal cord and nervous system later. As it is, he lightly brushes her hair aside and begins... examining.
Asami quips as she is examined, "Well... Does it... satisfy you?"
Mephet’ran chuckles, "Yes, now, about your head..."
Asami looks up. "Uh... What about it?"
"What precisely do these implants do?"
"Oh, right... Well, part of it is basically a harddisk to assist the brain... Other parts have something to do with telepathy... Electromagnetics of some sort... Though I think they are sort of introducing a new generation, so they are kidna outdated... Then there are some thingy's, biochemical & nanotechnological, to allow for faster information exchange... Then some minor parts. Oh, right, parts of it worked with the ports in my neck... In any case, that ones are kind of made to hold forever, since... well, brain surgery is still kinda complicated." She chuckles, as she remembers the doctor who explained a bit of this to her... Though in far more scientific terms. His lessons were quite... intriguing.
"Humm, they can stay then," he says, "Now, muscles..."
Asami nods. She is kinda weak, so she really wouldn't mind some... extras, there.
Mephet’ran busies himself behind her, and lightly tickles the soles of her feet as he does so. Asami chuckles a little, as he does so. He takes a whole pile of strange silver fibres and starts doing his phase-shifting again, passing them through her, doing a number of very eldrich things to her bones and muscles with them. She shudders a little, but trusts him, trying to relax... Feeling little. He chuckles, and lightly kisses her cheek, "You have to trust me anyway," he says, continuing to do so, sinking fibres into her that seamlessly integrate with the organic muscle fibres.
Asami nods, relaxing a little... waiting for it to finish. In the end, it was far easier than she had thought. Mephet’ran continues this for about half an hour, the feeling is, overall, very strange. Asami watches the whole time... slightly bored, she thought it would be something... Fancy, rather than something as casual as this. But well... She will go testing this things, soon, and that should be amusing enough. Mephet’ran chuckles softly and smacks her ass, "Now for the next bit."
Asami gasps. "Hey!"
Mephet’ran raises an eyebrow, "Yes?"
"Gentle, please, and more class. You're an emperor, not a plumber." She shakes her head. "Anyway... Next?"
Mephet’ran laughs, "Dear oh dear..."
Asami raises an eyebrow. "Yes?"
"I'm being lectured on 'class' by a woman whose first impulse on gaining upgraded sight is to look at people's private lives..."
Asami doesn't even blush. "Well... I'm sure this people wouldn't mind sharing..."
Mephet’ran laughs, "If you say so... Anyway, the next stage..."
"Yes?"
"More of the same really. This time to increase durability. It doesn't do to be able to punch through a steel plate but have one's fist crushed in the process..."
She chuckles. "I think I agree, yes."
"I think I'll just do a few key sections now, and let the rest... 'Grow.'"
Asami nods. "Kinda reminds me of puberty... 'Growing'."
Mephet’ran laughs and rolls her over onto her back again, taking one of her hands and sinking more of the silvery substance into her, where it pretty much emplaces itself in her subcutaneous fat. Interestingly, this version is red, so as not to turn her skin silvery. Asami watches, slightly intrigued.
Mephet’ran shortly stops at her wrist, and smiles, moving around and doing the other one.
Asami watches again. "And now?"
"A moment," he says, and sets about doing it to her elbows, part of her neck, and a few places on the legs.
Asami continues watching. It feels sorta... strange, and she just hopes this will end in time.
He claps his hands and smiles, "Done now..."
Asami yays, and gives her Mephet a kiss on his cheek. "Shiny."
Mephet’ran smiles, "Let's see, how'd you like to punch the table," he gestures to the rather thick metal thing, "to test it?"
Asami ponders. "Well, a bit big... But why not?" She is kinda scared, but hits it.. though carefully, only with a part of her possible strength.
With a loud noise a rather large dent appears in the surface. Mephet grins at her.
Asami looks at it, slightly surprised, then she looks at Mephet, rather... satisfied. "Wow."
"Try again dear..."
Asami nods, and hits again, this time with full strength... Which isn't that much, since she is kinda untrained... But still. The entire thing sags this time, a huge dent in it. With training, which he plans on giving her, she could probably pierce it.
Asami looks down, then at her hand. "Well... Women, apparently we are a rather strong gender..."
Mephet’ran giggles, "Try not to kill anyone..."
Asami chuckles. "I will try."
"Really," he adds.
"Yes, really." She looks at him, innocent, all sweet...
