Supreme General Yunger Keane paced his office. He ranted, he raved, he threw his arms about in wild gestures, and (for a few brief moments) he danced an amusing little jig. But no matter how much he raged he couldn't find any other answer: The Draconian-Rossian Alliance was dying. Not literally, of course. The people thrived, the economy was rising, and once the occupation of Regulus ended the military had received a huge boost. But the Alliance was dying. Gamma Draconis and Ross128 were separating, an ever enlarging gulf appearing between them. The threat from the Duke was no real threat, for the ESUS would assist them there. The Shivans were no real threat do to the DRA controlling the Primary Shivan Jump-Nodes. Essentially, the reason for the DRA's existence, to defend the Klonor territory and way of life, was no longer valid. The Alliance would still exist in name, but the two systems would separate. Eventually wars would come. It was inevitable. Keane could not allow this to happen.

He approached his desk, sitting down and studying the information gathered before him. He did not need to decide now, merely to prepare for when the time did come. Yet he already knew what the answer would be: Invasion and Annexation. This he would do preserve the Alliance. He leaned forward, flicking the switch to activate the direct communications beam to the Colossus's bridge.

"Admiral, prepare the Fleet. Mobilization in 24 hours."

"Yes, sir."

Admiral Calvin turned from the console, a grim expression on his face.

"So, it's finally happened."

"Sir?"

"Issue a recall for all Flag officers. Begin immediate re-supply of all 4'th Fleet ships. Begin to load the Harbingers."

"Sir?"

"Now, lieutenant."

"Yes, sir. But, where are we going?""

"Where are we going? We are going to destroy what is left of our souls in the perversion of this beautiful ship. We shall embark upon a war not for peace, not for prosperity, not to end tyranny, but to merely extend the power of those in command. That, lieutenant, is where we are going."

"Ah........yes, sir. But I need our actual destination. We need to know which way to fly, sir."

"Oh, right. Sorry. Anyways, the nation's name is the Mahogany Duchy of House Ecaz, with a monarchy, and located in the Eridan System some many light years away..."

(OOC: This is supposed to be my puppet, the Mahogany Duchy of House Ecaz, but for some odd reason, I can't access the forums with my puppet. Anyways...)

IC:

The Eridan System, located in the massive Virgo Supercluster, was the home of the Mahogany Duchy of House Ecaz, the closest former Five Civilized Nations colony to the Sol System and Terra, the homeworld of humans. Most of the six planets orbiting the Eridan star were uninhabitable, unsuitable to human life. The sole inhabitable planet, named Eridan Six, the farthest planet, was a tiny world, about the size of Mercury in the Sol System. And yet, the nation of House Ecaz flourished. Free from oppressive rule of the Star Realm of the Five Civilized Nations, House Ecaz began a burgoening trade with its neighbors, the three other former colonies of the Five Civilized Nations with Eridan Six's diverse plant life, creating a virtual monopoly as Eridan Six was the sole source of a vaccine for one of the most horrendous wasting disease ever to exist.

With such a strong source of wealth, House Ecaz built one of the biggest and most formidable mercenary forces, one able to annilihate virtually every attempt by the Five Civilized Nations to retake the Eridan System. Thus, House Ecaz survived for many years.

In the 15th year of independence, the Mahogany Duchy finally made contact with the Sol System, finding new markets for its plants, but gaining many an enemy...

OOC: I can access the forums again! Yay! I just hope there's enough time. We now have only four days to have our war, you beat me, and me engage in amazingly complex diplomatic discussions with myself in order to bring the DRA and Deneb together. Damn.

IC:

The Colossus spiralled through space. Well, it wasn't quite space. Then again, it wasn't not space either. Nexus Space was, and forever would be, a mystery to the inhabitants of the Universe. However, a mystery could still be used, as was obvious by the presence of the Colossus. Not just the Colossus, but the entire 4'th Combat Fleet.

Their official mission was a "Policing Action", the Five Civilized Nations had been having many uprisings recently and the DRA was assisting in the military procedures. Of course, that was just the title. Everybody knew the truth: The DRA was hungry for blood and didn't care where it go it. This wouldn't be a "Policing Action", this would be an invasion followed by outright annexation. All for the good of Klonor.

"Real-space reversion in 2.........1........0..........."

With no fanfare, (excepting, of course, the millions of km in diameter hole torn in space) the 4'th Combat Fleet slashed back into space, appearing (relatively) close to Eridan 6.

"Attention dissenting members of the Five Civilized Nations. This is Admiral Calvin aboard the DRAJ Colossus. Stand down all military forces at once. You will immedietly return to the government of the Five Civilized Nations, refusal shall result in severe and immediate military reprecussions. There will be no further warnings."

Aboard the flagship of the House Ecaz Naval Space Forces, the stolen Five Civilized Nations Argama Class Battleship, the HASW-109 Mahogany Throne, Flag Admiral Dack Archile, sat serenely in his seat at the bridge, quietly surveying the fleet that appeared seemingly out of nowhere. Shaking his head at the ignorance and arrogance of these allies of their former oppressors, the Five Civilized Nations, the Admiral swiftly began barking orders for the entire House Ecaz fleet to surround the puny, pathetic forces of the so-called Draconian-Rossian Alliance.

As the old admiral watched from the bridge of the Mahogany Throne, literally hundreds of warships lanced through space, appearing out of a multitude of space installations and rising ponderously from the ground. As the beautiful and intricately designed vessels took their positions around the massive Colossus and its escorts, Flag Admiral Archile opened a direct communications line with the Draconian-Rossian Alliance flagship.

TO: DRACONIAN-ROSSIAN ALLIANCE FLAGSHIP, DRAJ COLOSSUS
FROM: ROYAL HOUSE ECAZ NAVY FLAGSHIP, HASW-109 MAHOGANY THRONE
ATTN: ADMIRAL CALVIN

TO THE WARSHIPS OF THE DRACONIAN-ROSSIAN ALLIANCE, YOU ARE INTRUDING UPON THE SOVEREIGN TERRITORY OF THE MAHOGANY DUCHY OF HOUSE ECAZ. WE ARE A FREE NATION, RELEASED FROM THE OPPRESSIVE RULE OF THE FIVE CIVILIZED NATIONS. BY THE ARCHDUKE, CEASE AND DESIST YOUR ACTS OF AGGRESSION OR YOU WILL BE SYSTEMATICALLY ANNILIHATED.

THIS IS YOUR LAST AND ONLY WARNING.

FLAG ADMIRAL DACK ARCHILE SENDS

The admiral smugly sat back in his seat as he surveyed the holographic detail of the battlefield, satisfied that the warships of the Draconian-Rossian Alliance would not dare to battle a force many times their size.

Admiral Calvin sat there for a while, almost to shocked for words. Then the words came. Well, not words exactly. More like sudden bursts of near hysterical laughter.

"Jesus Christ, what a bunch of idiots. Do they have any idea how powerful our vessels are?"

"I don't think so, sir."

"Well........to bad for them. Gunnery officer, ready the MHC (Miniaturized Harbinger Cannon). Target some inconsequential vessel. I want it dust."

OOC: Okay, the Harbinger Cannon is pretty much a one hit kill on any ship. However, that is just not fun at all. It's also really godmodding if not used correctly. So, I only use it like I do here, blowing up something small as a show of force.

IC:

"Ready, sir."

"Fire."

The Colossus rotated in space, it's massive bow now pointed at one of the many vessels surrounding it and its fellows. A small hole seemed to form at the extreme tip; and out of that hole, flying at .999999999999 light-speed, sped a Harbinger Warhead. 3 gigatons of destruction sped at the tiny ship, bringing death along with it.

"Now maybe they'll be more reasonable."

The calm and smirking demeanor of the aging Admiral disappeared as he saw something speed out of the massive Draconian-Rossian flagship and slam straight into one of the tiny Meteor Mark XII Class Assault Frigates. With growing horror, the frigate disappeared in a massive explosion.

Quivering in anger, the Admiral immediately began issuing orders.

"Get Squadrons Alpha and Bravo into attack position, I want them to form a Lancer formation. Order Squadrons Gamma and Delta to split up and launching slashing attacks. Order Squadrons Kappa and Sigma to withdraw and defend the planet. Order a full-scale alert on planet and get our defenses up!"

The bridge of the Mahogany Throne turned into a flurry of activity, as dozens of aides communicated with the vessels of the fleet.

Within fifteen seconds, the squadrons of attack vessels split apart, launching hundreds of fighters, interceptors, and bombers into space.

"There's going to be hell to pay once we're done with these bastards," the Admiral said as he watched the vessels began their manuevers and attack runs...

"So, they do want to fight. A pity, I really did want to avoid to much bloodshed. No matter, the die have been cast. Communications, transmit signal Kilo 3 to the Fleet."

Nothing more is needed, for the members of the Klonor Space Corps have long had the various maneuvers drilled into their skulls. They knew what needed to be done.

Outside the Colossus the Klonor fleet was........well, they weren't doing much of anything. Only four ships were moving, and pretty darn slowly as well. Actually, they were pretty stupid looking ships. They looked like old sailing ships from the 1800's on Old Earth. Now what the hell could those moronic things do?

Of course, those old sailing ships happened to be armed with 20 Flak Guns apiece, and 20 Flak Guns can do a hell of a lot. They ships moved to the edges of the Klonor fleet, stationing themselves to the sides and top/bottom of the other ships. Then, with little fanfare, they began launch volley after volley of intense anti-fighter weaponry into the oncoming fighter craft. 20 Flak Guns per ship, four ships, that's 80 Flak Guns. 5 shots per second is......well, let's just say I'm really glad I'm not in one of those fighters out there right now.

Of course, they Volitions (as the old sail-boats are known) are vulenerable to capital ship weaponry. So, some protection was in order.

8 Orion class Destroyers began to move as well, two moving towards each Voltion. Once there they rotated, presented their port (or starboard) hulls to the enemy, and then unleashed a broadside worthy of Admiral Nelson.

Flag Admiral Dack Archile smirked as he watched the enemy vessels bunch together into a clump. Barely able to conceal a grin from his face, the aging admiral opened a connection with the planet of Eridan Six and said simply, "Feurer," German for fire.

Suddenly a section of the planetary shield disappeared. On the ground right below the disappeared shield was a massive military installation with a massive 200 meter barrel sticking up into the sky with virtually hundreds of cables and link running from it to the ground. It was a massive cannon...

When the message from the admiral was received, the massive cannon began to power up draining stored power from the rest of the installations.

A minute after the message was received, the cannon fired and a massive beam of coherent and incoherent light sped out of the end of the cannon-barrel and headed into space towards the clump of Draconian-Rossian Alliance warships...

OOC: 5CN, I'm really sorry about this. Please forgive me, but I'm running really low on time. I need to move on to the negotiations. Sorry.

IC:

Admiral Calvin just stared, not even bothering to react. The combined molybdenum sheathing, energy absorbtion armor, and shielding would make sure that shot wouldn't even scratch the paint of his ships. At least, they would have if they were working.

The shields fizzled, the armor burned, and three corvettes vanished in a puff of atomized smoke.

"What the fuck!?!?!?!? What the hell just happened?"

"I...........uh.............I don't know, sir. The defenses just..........shut down."

"How the hell could that happen?"

"Sir, you know we can barely keep our ships running. The DRA just doesn't have the facilities to support a fleet of our size. I'm shocked those ships were even flying."

"Why the hell wasn't I told this before?"

"My apologise sir, but you were. We've been yelling it for months, you just haven't been listening."

"Oh............ how many other shipsare in this condition?"

"Frankly.......all of them."

"Hell. Send a signal to all the ships, we're going home. Now!"

"Yes, sir!"

"We need to fix this. Before the entire Alliance is conquered......"

The ships promptly turn around and fly home

(OOC: Its alright, Klonor, I understand. If you need someone to help RP your reformation, you know who to call...)

Flag Admiral Dack Archile smirked when he saw the last of the invaders retreat into hyperspace. Satisfied that the Draconian-Rossian Alliance wouldn't dare attack again in the near future, he ordered his vessels to return to their bases.

"Come on back you blackguards and we'll give you another bloody nose..." the admiral muttered as the Mahogany Throne slowly cruised by to port...
