Sub-Galactic Power Stations Under Development

OOC: It should be SR-2091 (A puppet of mine) making this post, but I just needed to have Klonor get something in on the new forum. So, just pretend that it's SR-2091

IC:

The two men stood hunched over their computer panels, complex equations flowing across the screens as they work to solve the beam dispersal problems.

"I tell you, it's the refractions that cause it! There's so much crap floating out there in space that it's impossible for the energy to not be caught and split up into a million seperate beams."

"And I'm telling you that doesn't make any sense. The Power Stations transfer energy through the Sub-Spectrum, nothing floating out there could possible have the tiniest effect upon it."

"Then what the hell is causing it? You haven't the tiniest idea, and you're never going to."

"Hey, just shut up for a minute. What if nothing is causing it? Could it just be a side effect of the energy transmission?"

"No, we've already checked for that. It increases in random bursts the further it gets from the station, if it were a natural part of the process then it would be a constant occurance."

"Shit. How long until we need to have this done?"

"Four hours. If it's not ready by then we need to start looking for new jobs."

"Screw it, why bother? Just double the number of stations under construction and increase their power output. Problem sovled."

"Uh............okay........."

"Look at the tests, the beams only become to spread out for use after they've crossed at least half the distance between stations, usually more. If we double the number of stations, placing each second station at the halfway points between two already manufactured stations, then the ships are never out of range. Like I said, problem solved."

"Okay.........let's tell the commander."

OOC: Okay, this is kinda like me making a whole lot of gas stations in space. See, what these "Sub-Galactic Power Stations" do is constantly transmit energy into space. Klonor ships (or ships belonging to other natiosn which have received the technology) can receive the transmitted energy and use it to power their ships.

It allows for ships to spend much more time outside of a dock (since they don't need to spend time refueling) and could even improve their performance (if they use their own energy sources and these at the same time).

SR-2091 (the nation that's making these) will mainly use them to allow for easy voyages to the Milky Way Galaxy, but they'll probably set some up around some of the more densely populated Milky Way areas for other nations to use (for a nice price, of course)
