OOC: can you use radio waves to kill a person?
OOC: Im just sitting here thinking up new weapons and I was wondering if its in anyway possible to kill someone using radiowaves?
Cause I heard not sure if its true that brainwaves are actually low powered radiowaves so would it be possible to disrupt brainwaves with radiowaves?
I would think so if you cranked the power up high enough...but why not just use microwave? So much easier and more fun to use.

of course radiowaves can kill you. I nearly died while listening to a match of my national team on an AM radio station.

The Germans once had a sound cannon to take out aircraft. But i dont think it was really succesfull.

But microwaves are kinda messy.

interesting.
Radio waves are more precisely "Electromagnetic radiation".
Electromagnetic radiation at radio frequencies (10,000 Hz to 300x109 Hz).
A form of light with a frequency that is much lower than visual Light.

Given that microwaves are electromagnetic radiation, and we all know you can kill someone with microwaves, or gamma waves, or neutron radiation, all these are merely a variation on a theme.
The electromagnetic spectrum.
Can a TV signal kill someone? More then likly, no.
But electromagnetic wave based weapons are already being examined for real so there is no reason you shouldnt be able to make something up.

You've never seen an episode of Barney or the Teletubbies, have you?

If you crank up enough bass, you can kill someone, its like 180 decables
Transnapastain has sound bombs, which, cause a bassblast kind of blast, at 180 decables, the bass takes your heart rate over, and kills you.
This is why when there are bass compotitions, they ownners do not sit int hier cars

The reason it failed is simply because the Germans tried to fire sound waves, instead of using a bomb like system. You see, sound waves are called waves for a reason-they ain't straight, so they don't go in a straight line when you fire 'em. (Thats why your speakers fill the whole room with sounds, and not just one passage of sound. Although, you can buy speakers which work on laser sound or something, so when you step out of this 1x1m area, you cajn't hear it at all. Strange Tech.) I remember reading reports that the Sound Cannon was used to asssault bomber groups, and it quite often succeded in bringing one or two down-through the shock of having an enormous noise literally surround you. It also succeded in breaking up bomber squadrens from their fighter escorts, but this backfired on the germans as they now had 30 targets spread across the sky, instead of 30 all in one place.
However, for ground usage-my larger nation uses a bomb which emits Micro-wave, Radio-wave and Mega-wave selectivly. The Radio-Wave is ussualy emited at comparitivly low frequencies, so as not to kill everyone nearby, but maybe make them pass out through their brain hitting the "I dont know what the Hell to do right now!" button.
Just my 2 cents worth.
