OOC: Does anybody here remember the Galactic Alliance?

Over the past few months I've made many threads trying to asess my own worth. Asking people opinions of my role-playing skills, of nations status, of myself in general, etc. The thing is, anything related to nation/nation interaction always came back to one thing: The Galactic Alliance. That's been the highpoint of my NS career (duh). However, how many people remember it?

I formed the GA back in August of '03 and kept it going until well into '04. We had over 70 member nations and we were regarded as the power in Space NS. Our scientific advancements are still used in RP's and the status as a "GA Member" still gets a reaction (albeit less of a reaction than it used to). The Down Side: The GA's been dead for months. A lot of the member nations have left NS or entered completely new fields of RP. New nations hear nothing about it (except for these threads that I make all the time). Even Jimathon, the co-founder and inspiration for the GA (The GA evolved out of an alliance that me and Jimathon formed after my very first RP), has been deleted (I believe it's due to inactivity rather than any action he's taken). My greatest impression on NS has faded to a mere bootprint.

So, what claim to faim do I have now? Ever since I made my nation collapsed in amongst itself back in April (eliminating any IC power I had) and the GA died way back when (trashing any OOC respect that people had for me) I feel that I have nothing left to offer NS. I have a few RP's here and there (And they really are a hell of a lot of fun), but nothing earth shattering like I used to have. Tell me, what's left for me?

I think I remeber the GA, but even back then I wasn't interested in allowing other nations access to my space advancements... anyways, moving on I think you are being a little too dramatic about it, I mean just because your biggest work has become little more then a memory (the same can be said for alot of threads and alliances now) it doesn't mean your NS life is over... there is alot you can do and as always there is no limit to what you can RP seeing as Nationstates is almost infinate in potential subjects and ideas.

Keep doing your occasionally RP, perhaps even plan out some ideas... hell, I've been doing this for some time now and some things still surprise me. Don't give up so easy.

I remember GA! (can't say who I am because that ruins all the fun)

whats left for you know, well I honeslty can't say because thats like reading the end of the book and thinking you know the entire story. but every Empire has a high and a low much like the tide. but sometimes in order to reach teh high agian you have to do a little re-construction. maybe a little reconstructions is in order for your empire aswell?

Of course I remember the GA, being a part of it and all. It was sad to see it die down. Even since the death of it I haven't done a space RP, which was a pity since I did have a few good ones. And a reasonable fleet, which is never seen anymore.

Well, you could always attempt to start another space alliance.......

And what did you have to offer befor all that? Nothing? No; there is still you, the player, and it is from that core that all but the n00best of nations rise, and upon which they must draw to strive.

You have everything with which you started, along with many long months of experiance, and a solid reputation as a RPer. Many have gone far with less.

As for what's left, well, what do you want? What would you like to do? Because, chances are, it's within your grasp; now or later on, once you've set your sights upon a goal.

Cmon now, you dont need to found an alliance to find the game fun, or to be great. I'm sure not everyones forgotten about it - it might be dead, but it will long live in NS history.

(i was founded in March/April 03 sometime, and ive heard of the GA before but never had anything to do with them)
