With the development of the the 'I Can't Believe It's Not Racially Pure!' by Adolf Bush, Springfield has undertaken a huge purifying project. Any non-2D yellow individuals will be purged of their former ethnic roots via the ICBITNR.
The ICBITNR racially purifies its victim, erm, subject by inserting yellow food coloring into the person's skin glands. The food coloring is then absorbed by the water in the skin and then changes to yellow. With the water now a yellowish color, the skin absorbs the yellowish colored water and turns yellow itself via God's grace via the 'JESUS-MAKER 2500' invented by Ned Flanders.
