Chrissy had a gut feeling she should never have agreed to take on this baby-sitting job. It had seemed so easy, simply looking after a single two-year-old. She already felt so old, and she was only 15. Her two-year-old charge, Kenzie, ran all over the boat, and was constantly throwing temper tantrums.

They were at the children's play area while Kenzie's parents were upstairs in the lounge. An announcement came over the intercom.

The ship is on fire. Proceed to the nearest evacuation station. Do not panic.

Chrissy grabbed Kenzie, kicking and screaming, to the evacuation station. She put a lifejacket on Kenzie, then asked the attendant to hold her while she put on hers. They were lowered into a lifeboat. As the boat travelled away from the sinking ship, Chrissy saw Kenzie's parents on the ship, drowning.

Mike looked over at the speaker when he heard the announcement and went out to the deck and looked over the side then looked at the life boats. after a few moments deliberation he stepped up onto the rail and got ready to jump over and swim for a life boat. he counted to three then jumped out over the water and held his breath right before he broke the surface of the surface.

Chrissy noticed Mike in the water and waved to him while trying to quiet Kenzie down.

Mike spit out water then noticed Chrissy waving at him so started to swim over to them while yelling at the person rowing to please wait for him.

Chrissy tapped one of the rowers on the shoulder. "Um, there's a guy in the water who needs to get in the boat."

mike kept swimming and every once in a while would see if anybody else was swimming for life boats also. when he got close to the life boat with Chrissy in it he slowed down then grabbed the side "would you please help me in sir?" he asked the closest man that looked strong enough to pull him up

The man helped Mike up. Chrissy smiled. "Hi, I'm Chrissy. This is Kenzie. No, Kenzie, do not run around. Sit down."

"your parents didn't make it?" mike asked looking at Chrissy then Kenzie.

"Kenzie's didn't. Mine are still at home in Temme. Kenzie, I told you not to run around. Sit down." Kenzie began to throw a temper tantrum. Chrissy picked her up and held her down.

"Oh. mind if i hold Kenzie was it? mind if i hold her for you? she looks like a handfull." Mike asked smiling sadly at Kenzie

"Sure, go ahead." Chrissy smiled with relief that she didn't have to handle Kenzie alone. That girl could be a handful.

Mike picked Kenzie up and set her down on his knee and started to bounce Kenzie. Every once in a while he would tickle her sides and other things like that so that she wouldn't want to run around the life boat and would instead want to stay near him and play

Chrissy smiled. "Hey, you're really good with Kenzie. Where'd you learn that?"

"Not really sure. Always just been good with children." Mike said with a shrug

Chrissy smiled. "You should have been the one doing baby-sitting duties for the Parkers instead of me. I mostly just took her to the play area and made sure she didn't hit the other kids."

Mike looked at Chrissy then at Kenzie then stared out over the water.

Kenzie started to cry and squirm.

Mike looked down at Kenzie with a confused look then shook his head and tickled her sides and bent down next to Kenzie's ear's and whispered "I'm sorry I forgot about you. The next time i do that poke me. alright?"

Kenzie giggled loudly. Chrissy couldn't believe how good Mike was with her.

mike smiled at Kenzie then crossed his eyes and stuck his tongue out at her then looked at Chrissy and smiled

Even Chrissy laughed. "Oh, Mike, you're such a goof." A man announced, "We're too heavy. Someone is going to need to get off. There's an island up ahead on the right for us to drop you off at, and we'll come get you as soon as we're rescued. Any volunteers?" Chrissy picked up Kenzie and said, "I think we'll go. Kenzie needs the room to run."

Mike also stands up "i'll also volunteer." he looks at Chrissy and says "you'll need the help." and smiles then tickles Kenzie

"Thanks." Chrissy turned to the man and said, "Mike and I will go." He pulled up in front of the island. "There you go, we'll send you a rescue plane as soon as possible." Chrissy stepped out, then Mike followed with Kenzie.

Mike held Kenzie up on his shoulders so that she wouldn't get wet then followed Chrissy

Reaching the shore of the island, Chrissy stumbled and landed softly on the warm, white sand.

Mike put Kenzie in the crook of his left arm and then extended his right arm to help Chrissy up. "you okay?"

OOC: like the sn.

Chrissy smiled and took his arm. "I'm okay." Kenzie started to squirm to run around the beach.

Mike set Kenzie down and watched her run around "children are great." he then chuckled

Chrissy nodded her head. "But 8 hours of them a day is a little much for me. Thank you so much for coming and helping me out. I never could have managed her without you."

"Yea i hear ya there." Mike said chasing after Kenzie

Kenzie, of course, ran in circles around Mike and Crissy, while shouting "LA! LALALALALALAL! Ahaha!".


OOC: Me?

Mike chased after Kenzie "i'm going to get you! i'm going to get you!"

OOC: yea

Kenzie squealed and tried to run away. Having very short legs, Mike quickly scooped the giggling little girl up in his arms.
"You're so silly." said Mike.

OOC: :) Thanks. We woo people.

OOC: Wooing, you want to be Kenzie?

IC: Even Chrissy had to giggle at Mike's behavior. "Oh, Mike, you're acting just like Kenzie."
