Kelmak Political Parties Represented

There's a Prime Minister, and he's ellected by a Parliment. So, it's essentally a parlimentary style government
But the catch is that there is never a forced vote for the prime minister or for the parliment.
A vote occurs as a levee would occur, and if 40 percent of the terrortories vote for a levee, a voting day is set by the people in another levee and then the voting happens. This falls in line with the political freedoms of my country, because of how hard it is, in my eyes.
Anyway, the prime minister has dictorial controls over most stuff. It's like the opposite of the American congress. Parliment vetos what the Prime Minister does, as well as the other way around too.
There are 500 seats in Parliment, and above that, there are as many cabinet members as wanted, but the catch there is that the Prime Minister needs to pick his cabinet from parliment. Any other staff appointment doesn't need to be though.
This was created for use in furthur posts of mine, and for pure enjoyment. Also, my country is fairly big now and I can't keep ignoring message board posts, plus if there's anyone out there like me who likes politics in general, and doesn't have a lot of partisan tendicies, you'll enjoy the read.
There is also a list of Notable officals somewhere around here.
This is current as of: June 19th, 2004

The Labor Green Party: This is the party that believes in highly strung socialism, but with an added emphasis on environment issues. They're regarded as a fairly high strung liberal party, and the political compass would look like this:

L:.....I...............................................R = Social Issues
L:.....I...............................................R= Economy

Currently, there are 25 members of Parliament belonging to this party, but there is almost no party loyalty, and it is fairly scattered along the compass. The head of this party is named Kevin McKinley. The party's registered members have gone down 50 percent in the last ten years.

The Nationalist Party: This is a pure centrist and territory rights party, but is filled with a lot of apathetic people. They frankly don't care if any issues are territory issues or not, because they know their goal of territory rights will not happen, most likely. They believe that everything is in the gray, and things should not be decided by a sweeping law. Their Political compass looks like this, if you need a visual.

L:........................I............................R = Social Issues
L:........................I............................R= Economy

There are 100 members of Parliament from this party. This is an extremely organized party with an extreme loyalty to the party. If the leaders vote one way, usually the other PMs do. The head of this party is the former Prime Minister, Adam Jackson. He is now the current Chief of Staff under Prime Minister Jeffery Lewis. Before politics, he was a successful College Professor of Political Sciences and International Relations. He was voted out of Parliament completely in the last election because of his support of leaving the Golden Path, a region that Kelmak used to be members of that people liked. Jeffery Lewis thought he was a good politician and appointed him to the Chief of Staff. Party loyalty among non politicians plummeted, and there are rumors floating around that come next elections, they won't hold one seat in Parliament. Before the last election, they were the majority party with 300 seats.

The Opinionated Party: The most educated and "liberal" party, although they'll be quick to tell you that the modern term liberal doesn't fit them. They each have their own opinions, some are extremely conservative, some aren't, but they believe that their opinions don't have any due course in politics, and that everyone should be allowed to put their own course forward, that in turn leads to a smaller government. They are essentially libertarians in the American sense of the word politics. Free Economy and Free rights are their motto, cept' they are for country loyalty and the term "borders" is a good thing to them. Here's their opinions, in a sense, based on Political compass. Most of the people agree though, that personal freedoms are more important, and if it came to that choice, they'd chose personal freedoms.

L:I....................................................R = Social Issues
L:............................................I........R= Economy

After the recent election, parliament membership went from 10 to 310. They control an astounding 62 percent of Parliament. The founder and head of this party is the current Prime Minister, Jeffery Lewis Fairly organized party, but most defiantly the highest amount of compassion for the country.

The Neodrantic Party: This is the party that first rebelled against the empire that controlled the land of Kelmak. These guys are extremely conservative to the point of near monarchy. The founding fathers have been dis-avoud several times over by both Prime Ministers, and it was clear in the first elections that the citizens felt the same way. They never really stated their opinion during the rebellion, but after it became known, membership to the party plummeted to a few loyal traditionalists, and people who were loyal to the former Emperor. The political compass would look like this:

L:.........................I...........................R = Social Issues
L:................................................I....R= Economy

They mostly don't care what people do, as long as they don't mess around with the country, and loyalty is almighty. The Current head of the party is the son of the founder, Willard Olson. They control 60 seats in Parliament, but that's dropped a steady, but low number as more and more traditionalists are dying. They hold the record for being the longest party, as well as having the oldest members. Citizens would feel bad voting out members of the revolution and sons of the revolution, and besides, they're not big enough to pose much of a threat.

Independent: The last five seats are controlled by five people, who don't really have much say in anything, two are extremely liberal, two are Nazi's, and one is a floating blob that picks random issues to vote on and abstains from others. He's waiting for how long it'll take people to realize he's a joke. There is of course, no party leader.

There are other Political parties around Kelmak, but I've been typing for a long time, and none control seats in Parliament.
