The Desert Republic of Larwana, seeking to build a navy for its landlocked country, has annexed an uninhabited desert island 300 kilometers from our nearest border. It is remote from us, but it is the nearest island. It has been dubbed Port Camel. A colony an a naval base will be established there. Any nations who believe they have a claim to Port Camel are advised to speak now.

One last check, to make sure no one wishes to lay claim to Port Camel.

Now having seen no claims upon Port Camel, Larwana has begun the building of the colony and the naval base.

We wish you every luck with your island. We hope it brings you endless happiness.

We will tolerate this outpost so long as no nuclear, biological, or chemical weapons are produced there. We will also not tolerate human rights abuses.

We do not have any NBC weapons, and the inhabitants will have all the rights of Larwanan citizenship.

the inhabitants will have all the rights of Larwanan citizenship.

But that still does not assure if humane rights abuses will be committed. You fellows are not too creative when it comes to naming places ha? Personally we think it's odd and irresponcible for a desert nation to annex a desert isaldn to build a navy, these things rarely work out well...

Why would that be odd and irresponsible? If a nation attacks us, we would need to counterattack, yes?

Also, why would the name of the island have anything to do with its use?

We point out that according to the United Nations, we have "very good" civil rights.

Fellow denizen you take us far too seriously. As for attack and counter-attack, if your a desert ntion how will you afford to not only convert your oversized sandbank into something appropriate to service a navy but how will you afford to operate a navy and why have one in the first place, you don't have any coastline to defend and if you are that worried it would be much more cheaper and worth your while to organise permieter defence with your neighbours. The more military establishments you put outside your nation the more oppertunities to attack, the more more military establishments you have, the more things to attack.

Why? Because, while we are landlocked, we are not so far inland as to be out of the range of cruise missiles. Also, if someone does attack us, we do reserve full right to retaliate, and a navy would assist in that.

Also, if Port Camel is attacked, the Desert Republic would take it just as an attack on the nation proper, and would retalite with full force. We do not allow ourselves to be attacked without the aggressor paying a dear penalty.

While we are a desert nation, our people are tough and hardy, and we have managed to wrest a "powerhouse" economy out of the desert. With mostly volunteer milita as a military, we keep our nation strong but easily defendable.

I would have thought that if your nation is easily defendable you wouldn't need a navy. Why instal land based counter-missile weapons instead? It's your nation, i just think your logic is driven more my nationalistic zeal then rationalised military planning... but that's probably just me

Of course we are nationalist! We have wrested from the harsh desert a prosperous existence, and we are proud of this, and will take all means needed to defend the Desert Republic to our death!

If a nation is an island, and it attacks us, how will we retaliate without a navy?

First off you need a air force first or your're new navy is a sitting duck.

We have an air force.
