Enjaquwanef Aksfasandigasop sat on the banks of the river. He was dressed in his old army uniform from his conscription, hiding him from the eyes of observers. "Today," he thought, "It all begins. The Rebellion against King Aposajeg, the beginning of democracy."
He readied his weapon: A simple, homebuilt smoothbore gun. It was long, with a two meter barrel and a half-meter square cubical reactant canister. The reactants would not produce undue noise, due to their nature. Most of the energy was expelled as gas.
The bullet was specially designed: A small dart-like projectile, very light, yet deadly. It was designed like this to let the smoothbore gun fire it easily. Most of the bullet was made of materials like cardboard- only the tip was metal.
He inserted it into the cannon, and plugged in one of his three reactant canisters. He carried so few because that was all he could fit around his back- he needed the rest to carry the massive barrel. He then turned the valve letting the reactants mix. He had to let them wait about ten seconds, then turned the valve letting the gases out into the barrel.
Despite its smoothbore nature, the bullet shot far and strong, right towards a man on a cargo barge carrying goods for the government.
He then readied his next shot, inserting in his second dart and plugging in his next canister. He repeated the process, this time taking out the tugboat's pilot.
He readied his last shot, which ripped right into the box on the roof that transmitted through the antenna. It would be awhile before anyone found out what happend. He loaded put the canisters back into his pack... he could reload them with the reactants back at home. He place the barrel over his back once more, and took out a simple revolver a friend skilled at metalwork had built for him. This revolver was sealed and fitted with a silencer. He walked away as quickly as he could with the weight of the barrel- not extremely heavy for its size, but it was large and unwieldy to carry.
All around Aposajegapsajodaf, similar scenes took place with whatever the insurgents could build... some expert metalsmiths made full-on rifles, others made mortars, other similar things to Aksfasandigasop.
Later, from a IP address routed through other countries, the government website was hacked, and made to say:
We, the newly formed Enfranchisement Brigade claim full responsibility for the attacks earlier today. We call the attention of the international community to the horrible human rights abuses of the current government. We are engaged in open treason, rebellion, and war against the government, and we will kill anyone who stands in our way. No one who works for the government is exempt. We advise all civil servants to quit their jobs if they want to live. More attacks are to come. We number approximately five hundred at the moment, but expect our ranks to grow. We invite all foreigners who support freedom to come join our ranks as partisans as well. Our demands are simple: Democracy, and liberalism.
The government later released this statement:
We will do everything possible to bring down this threat to our wonderful and glorious and wise King Aposajeg and his rule. He rules by the virtue and grace of his family. They have ruled our nation for a thousand generations, and they shall rule for infinity. We point out that many of the attacks were on private companies with government contracts. This terrorists must be brought to justice, and we call on nations around the world to assist us.
