Each of Moontian's autonomous parts are going to the vote at the same time, and the election is being monitered on the NS boards. The following is a run-down on all the main political parties.

Moontian:

Liberal Party
Agenda: reducing taxes and public services, increased military spending, legalising and encouraging private enterprise.

Democratic party (favoured by Emperor Iain)
Agenda: Increasing funding for public education and health, continuing research & development.

Greens
Agenda: Restoring the environment, protecting penguins, continuing research only in ecology.

Christian party (organised from groups deported from Moontian)
Agenda: The abandonment of the current constitution and the emplacement of theocracy.

Youth party
Agenda: increasing social welfare and education.

Tritonites, Nereidans and Dionnians:

Liberal Party
Agenda: reducing taxes and public services, increased military spending, legalising and encouraging private enterprise.

Democratic party (favoured by Emperor Iain)
Agenda: Increasing funding for public education and health, continuing research & development.

Youth party
Agenda: Increasing social welfare and education. Reduction in military spending.

TND-first party
Agenda: Independence from Moontian, increased military spending, reduced public services.

The two main parties are the Liberal and Democratic parties.

OOC: All one needs to do is post which party they'd prefer. Anyway, with parties that are only available in one section or the other, it would make things difficult.

In an astounding decision today, the Moontian Supreme Court has ruled the Christian Party ineligible to run in the upcoming elections, due to the fact that none of the candidates actually reside within Moontian.

The latest polls show a minority government will be required in both Moontian and the colonies.

Moontian:
Liberal: 27.4%
Democratic: 41.6%
Greens: 12.1%
Youth: 14.2%
Undecided: 4.7%

Colonies:
Liberal: 31.1%
Democratic: 34.9%
Youth: 16.3%
TND-first: 7.6%
Undecided: 10.1%

It is likely that the Democratic and Youth parties will form a coalition, but the undecided vote will still be interesting to watch. The election will take place on the 29th of June.
