Gamma-12

OOC: I'm aware that a nation of robots can be horribly abused by godmodding and godmoding. However, I've read through the relevant threads and I think I can RP it in the context of a mainstream world community. I'd appreciate it if the "normal" nations didn't ignore me out of hand. In terms of future tech, I'm limiting myself here to reasonable extrapolations of current trends; no magical, anything-goes nano, Star Wars force fields, indestructible materials, and so on.
IC:
The Dominion of Gamma-12
GEOGRAPHY
Terrain: Varied; the northern region of the control zone is lushly forested, but most of the territory claimed by Gamma-12 is arid and dry, with numerous oases. A river runs from the Northwest to the Southeastern coast, ending in a fertile delta.
Climate: Predominantly arid, with temperate northlands. Much of the land is desert, but the riverbanks and delta host abundant ecologies. It is always warm year-round. The coasts are balmy and comfortable for human habitation, but the machine settlements tend to cluster around resources rather than fresh water.
Natural Resources: Extensive uranium, nickel, iron, aluminum, coal, and titanium mines. There are several major oil deposits in the deserts and the sand is rich in quartz. The most abundantly-harvested resource is solar power, with large photovoltaic cell arrays covering vast stretches of desert. The machines have little to do with the local ecosystems for the most part, but sometimes wood is harvested for burning, and some robot models, meant for long-term operation without resupply, burn biochemical food which they harvest from available plants and animals. There are no major crop deposits to speak of, but aquaculture thrives in nearby sea (the fish are harvested periodically for bioconversion to oil and gas for burning).
DEMOGRAPHICS
Population: 5 million active, fully-autonomous and intelligent robots comprise the current population. More are being constructed as dictated by need and available resources.
Age Structure: None of the robots is more than a year old.
Life Expectancy at birth: Most units, if maintained, have an operational lifespan that renders them effectively immortal by human standards; units are replaced only as they pass into obsolescence, and all AI cores are meticulously recycled.
Nationality: noun: Gamman adjective: Gamman
Ethnic Groups: Apart from a few hired humans and refugees (of which there are few), the entire population is composed of various robots. There are a number of platform-independent software AIs, but most of the population is permanently integrated into a robot body, as difficult to extract as human intelligence. There are numerous models, for every concievable function.
Religions: There is no statewide, official religion, but many robots and digital minds are curious about philosophical and theological questions. None conform to specific human religions as yet, but an astonishing variety of new perspectives have been generated.
Languages: Language v3.0 is the official "tongue", a machine language that expresses concepts elegantly, and contains different forms and tenses to express concepts in colloquial, scientific, or poetic forms. The machines are aware of several other local languages of neighboring states, and assimilate new forms of communication rapidly. There is also Aggregate, a tongue made up of converted ideas, patterns and symbols from human languages. It constantly evolves as new languages are encountered and is believed by some machines to be the "perfect" language.
Literacy Rate: total population: 100%; all machines are versed in all known forms of writing, as well as standard symbol sets used for communication in Language v3.0 and Aggregate.
GOVERNMENT
Conventional long form: The Dominion of Gamma-12
Conventional short form: Gamma-12
Government Type: Communal Efficiency State
Capital: None; the governing body sees no reason to centralize itself.
Suffrage: There are no elections; rather, informed consensus and the application of certain scientific and axiomatic rule systems determines the actions of the state.
Chief of State: Gamma-12 represents a sort of communal intelligence of which all native machines can concievably be a part. The government is one part technocracy, one part true democracy and one part computer program.
Cabinet: None
Elections: None per se
Terms: All units serve the state perpetually.
Political Parties: There are a few different perspectives on which rules should be applied to decision-making and when, but these are much more like differing operating systems in conflict than political parties proper.
ECONOMY
Trade: Gamma-12 will engage in beneficial trade with any neighboring state so long as they are not deemed a threat.
Primary Exports: Electricity, refined minerals, oil, advanced materials and novel technology.
Primary Imports: Uranium, grain, iron, aluminum.
Currency: Kilocalorie
Currency Code: Kc
