Reclaiming what is ours OOC thread

The Trojan Empire

IC thread (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=153446)

to prevent OOC rambling

ok heres the 411 -- most nations do not know that we are going to invade AMF Greece. however, the mobilization of so many troops is hard to hide. now, Troy has many neighbors and the soldiers dont even know who they're invading so this is a tightly-knit secret. however, you should feel somewhat suspicious. Troy has been nasty the past few times we've crossed paths with Damien. And in addition to that, if you pay attention to my posts, we badmouth the Greeks (Achaeans) alot. so, yeah, you might have an idea of what might happen. but not where.

the soldiers are trained for this attack. over the past 6-8 months theyve been training, unconsciously for this attack. their exercises were modified to fit this attack. but they do not know who theyre gonna attack (again, theyve probably got an idea who, though). so after the mobilization completes in the a week (NS time), they will train for a week (NS time) -- getting battle plans and such.

another thing -- greece is a small region and it is mountainous. it's going to be tough to be so many troops into that area. be careful with your numbers.

and lastly, troy's technology is that of 2073. what do I mean by that? well, we have dropships (cant go into space though) and two space warcraft. the SF-1 and SB-1. they're basically the same as a regular fighter and bomber except they can just get out of the earth's atmosphere and into space. they don't have lasers or plasma bombs and can still be taken down by AA fire.

now, I know AMF ignores space, but this space 'tech' is actually very limited. so Id like to know if you would allow the usage of the SF and SB 1's. if not, then Ill make sure not to tie them into my RP.

Im going to post a pretty map of Troy that Gordion made for me sometime during the thread. I also have an invasion map (made in MSPaint, go me)

Troy fields about 3 million troops -- and no, 1 million are not going to Greece. Most troops are naval and ground. Our air force is limited and thats why those space fighters are very important. So I have a considerable force back home at Troy for homeland defense. Keep in mind that theres going to be alot of fighting via naval warfare in the Aegean.

Now, what is an APU? Because Ill be using these at sometime in the invasion. An APU is an armored personnel unit. It's a big bipedal robot manned by one driver. It has two big arms with 30mm machine guns. Rockets can be loaded on the shoulders. Watch the matrix revolutions or look it up on the net for a pic. Mine are armored in the front, however.

oh, and if you suck at RPing. dont post.

About my involvement in this. Delta has to make a choice of who to support... and it's pretty easy to guess who he's more in leagues with... but besides that:

My naval forces around Earth are allready tied up in a standoff with an AI controlling my capital and an orbiting battlestation. Meaning, little or no ortillery from me.

Ground forces are in four different catagories: Strike Marines, Assault Marines, Mechwarriors and Supply/Transport.

Strike Marines were originally based on Swamptroopers from SW. Now I've shifted so that they're more Starship Troopers like(without the shoulder launched nukes), but still in the green Swamptrooper armor. Meaning not a lot of energy weapons beyond some Ion and EMP.

Assault Marines are the standard geneticly engineered supersoldiers in power armor controled by their own nervous system. They cary everything from modern assault rifles to lasers to plasma weapons.

Mechwarriors... guess.

Supply/Transport are the most valuable of all the trrops and are the best protected. They are equipped with dropships and gravships in addition to C-5s, C-141s and the like. They are armed with Strike Marine weapons.

So... I think I can pull off RPing a war with modern tech. I'll just say that IC the military advisors saw fit to 'level the playing field' or some 18th century idea like that.

Oh and numbers? Somewhere around half a million to three-quarters of a million(counting the support troops, which are about 3/5 of that).

remember, TECHNICALLY you don't know that we're going to invade... but the signs are there.

If noone minds I would like to slide in here, as Troy and I have unfinished business from awhile back. As of now Pantera is in no shape to fight a major war, as most of you who follow my nation know. It's been awhle, OOCly since I updated, but I have a post in the works for that. I hae a good idea to allow me to RP here, without bringing in any armies to speak of. As it stands there are certainly still a few fists of Reavers lurking in Greece somewhere, if only because right now noone wants to be in Pantera...

Any objections to me jumping in later tonight?

OOC: Just a slight tip. If AMF suddenly withdraws his forces & leaves you a big-ass wooden horse, DO NOT bring it into your city. Chances are it'll have a nuclear paintball grenade or some other AMF trickery inside.

OCC:

The LRRA is going to send in a picturesque overseas force, meaning paratroopers, new tanks, trucks, and a few wheeled APCs (no mechanized infantry, thats reserved for home defense) whatever the case, but I am a bit confused at the tech level in play here. You talk about forces around earth, but is this futuretech (as in ion cannons, FTL, etc) or just post-modern (meaning non FTL, essentially space shuttles with guns)?
The Trojan Empire
17-06-2004, 02:12
this is mainly modern with subtle future flavors to it (the primitive space fighters, dropships, etc.)

so post-modern would fits...

I really don't want lasers or ortillery in this rp unless two space nations wanna duke it out over the skies
Lunatic Retard Robots
17-06-2004, 02:20
Does the lasers restriction apply to light tactical lasers and CIWS lasers as well as the really big ones, or just to the serious laserguns and spaceship lasers?

So It take it someone couldn't take a spaceship and ortillery one of my Sovremennys, unless I was an established post-modern nation?

lets just keep this a post-modern RP with some newer tech, but still old fashioned bullets and bombs. :D so use railguns, EMP, primitive lasers (the ones they're testing on fighters today -- they can blind people) -- but nothing heavy-duty

for the last time, this attack is supposed to secret. since when did I release any public information? you may have an idea of what may happen, but the Akaviir assistance covers up the mobilization quite well. there also plenty of other nations around the Aegean... Trojan agression? I havent seen any yet :o
The Trojan Empire
17-06-2004, 18:38
ok before anyone goes bezerk like in the menelmacar thread.. the ships are moving... but they havent broken formation so they still appear to be traveling cohesively to give Akaviir their weapons

OOC Addition:

I'm only a supporting player of AMF, under the "invited to naval exercises with AMF" cover story (as in I don't buy yours, do you buy my cover story? :P)

Anyway, they're mostly to support AMF. We might airdrop supplies and support in, but the Adejaani contribution won't be much more than harrassing the Trojan flanks or plugging up gaps.

A little info on the weaponry of your average Trojan

Trojan soldiers wear armor similiar to the Marines in the game HALO. So no, we don't use uber self-replenishing shield armor.

Trojans also carry a similiar model of the rifle used in halo, only we have three modes of fire: auto, three round burst, and single shot. 7.62mm ammo

We carry the FT-58 pistol. 5.7mm ammo, 25 rounds per clip.

The Priam Class drop ship can carry around 21 soldiers and a Warthog LRV -- a military jeep capable of carrying three passengers (driver, passenger seat, and gunner) with a 7.62mm machine gun in the back.

The Aegean Class drop ship has two pods that can carry 2 APCs each. Thats 4 APCs or 2 Scorpion tanks.

Heres an old thread (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=80824&highlight=) with some info on what we use. Not everyone in that thread is used, as Ive remodeled some of my RP style.

And also expect some complications to occur... seeing as Mr Admiral Eurymachus has ordered some white wine to 'relax' him before the battle... :P

Anyway... whether or not the AMF offense works or not, you're getting invaded from the North East. Poland, if you want an exact location.

crimmond, are you attacking via dropship? because a blitzkrieg naval assault of such a large magnitude heading towards the Trojan mainland wouldn't be viewed ambivalently, especially with our fleets on the move.

It's all dropships, C-5s and C-141s. They're not going towards Troy at this point either. They're passing over the still rebuilding areas of Belarus and heading towards Russia. The only surface ships I have are in the Vladimir carrier group, to the south east of Greece. I haven't yet decided when to bring in the subs, gut there are two Supremacy class with the carrier.

I'm sorry, I've been busy. I was working on an RP thread in I.I but now I've had to put it on hold, and due to my personal life picking up (my paintball team is playing a shit load of tournaments, I've got both my brother and my sister's birthdays coming up soon) I just don't have the time for a lengthy war (although this is the first time in a long time that a worthy RPer is fighting me). If I can't finish my post I may have to have either Crimmond or someone else fight in Greece's stead. It sucks, I know, but I don't want to leave you guys hanging......
