Kintara-Yerta Factbook Entry:

Background:
Kintara-Yerta was established in 2004 in attempt to yevirnel—“bring back” or “return”—the great influence of the long-fallen country of Kintara; hence the name, which means “New Kintara”. All aspects have been attempted to remain accurate, including re-establishment of the Kintaran language (Kintarasesol). The people have the right to do as they please within fair legal boundaries that protect law-abiding citizens from those who may choose to harm them. Tradition is important to this historical country.

Geography:
Kintara-Yerta is a small island, its closest neighbors the desert island of Nagda and Yantira, its sometimes-reluctant ally. In the northwest lies the Gaudin desert, home of the fabled Jiu-nach Temple. Around its capital near the center of the island is a great wall of mountains. Along the northern part of the east coast is a chain of mountains that eventually turn inward to help form the eastern side of the mountains around the capital.

Government:
According to NationStates, the government is an “Inoffensive Centrist Democracy.” However, it is probably more closely described as a constitutional monarchy with parliament. The primary leader is referred to as the Di’man (derived from a mispronunciation of the word Daemon, which was short for the name of the first great leader, Daemonerdosa, whose original name is now forgotten). There are two councils under the Di’man, the Daemordos and the Raemordos. The Daemordos are selected by the Di’man and the Raemordos are elected by the people. The elections for these councilors are staggered so that no one will spend their entire 6-year turn with the same group. The Di’man is elected by the people for life unless he or she resigns or is removed from office by 2/3 vote in both councils.

Natural resources:
There are many minerals found in Kintara-Yerta, even gold, but it is not mined because gold is considered worthless (thus it is never traded so Kintara-Yerta gains nothing from it). There is much farmland, which is used to its fullest capacity, as well as plenty of places to fish in the sea and in rivers inland.

People:
90+% Kintaran
Exact unknown % Other
Religion:
No exact known. There is no national religion, but Kine’Jaken and Shinto are the most commonly practiced.

Literacy/Language:
National/Dominant Language: Kintarasesol (Kintaran)
Others: English, Japanese, Irish Gaelic
Alphabet: Kintarasesuri (Kintaran Alphabet). Rune-like. Archaic Kintarasuri is rarely used, though it can be seen on the flag. When written with English letters (as I must do on this site), pronunciation follows similar guidelines as Japanese. Ch is always the aspirated sound like in Gaelic and German.

Economy:
Currency:
Low-value pieces: Ke’ryat—made of bronze, about the same as .09 USD$
Medium-value pieces: Ke’urtal—made of copper, about the same as 1.8 USD$
High-value pieces: Ke’naiya—made of silver, about the same as 36 USD$
Poverty level: less than 2% of total population
Trade relations: Minimal. Most of necessary aspects of Kintaran life can be found on the island. Most trade is with Yantira, using the southern coast of Nagda as a port.
