Fall of the Star Realm and an End to an Era (Open Space RP)

Five Civilized Nations

Leo I Group--Cala (M96) Galaxy--Caladan System

When the two months communications and travel blackout due to a very powerful and sudden solar flare had lifted, news began to trickle to the Five Civilized Nations about the war that had erupted in space. With this news, came the shocking discovery that the warp tunnel linking the Caladan System with the Sol System had been severed, the warp relays destroyed. All communications and travel to the Five Civilized Nations colonies on Mars, the moon, and Terra had been cut off. This meant that the 1st Fleet under Grand Admiral Horatio Gates Nelson, dispatched to assist the allied nation of Dontgonearthere was now incommunicado. Even more worrisome was the news that the four colonies of House Ecaz, The Lost Atreides, The Blood Elves, and the Swordmasters of Ginaz were on the brink of rebellion. Shocked, the Five Civilized Nations government sought a way to end this warfare and bring peace back to the universe, along with the hopes of rebuilding the infrastructure lost...

In the Citadel on the planet of Cala, the August Emperor Leto Crusade sat quietly atop his throne, watching his advisers, syncophants, and military commanders argue over the correct response to the tenuous situation. The Emperor was exhausted. It had been two weeks of strenous discussion, while Combined Five Civilized Nations patrol and scout vessels attempted to reestablish the links between the Five Civilized Nations and the center of humanity, Terra.

The Emperor knew that the situation would not be quickly resolved...

---Four Months Later---

Leo I Group--NGC 5033 Galaxy

It had taken the Salamis Class Cruiser, the Shokaku four months to arrive at the NGC 5033 Galaxy from the Cala Galaxy. Upon arrival, it activated its scanners, in an attempt to detect the location of one of the destroyed warp and communications relays.

Captain Johannes Westing quietly paced the bridge of the Shokaku, impatiently awaiting the detection of the relay. He was impatient not because it was his duty, but because he missed his family. Captain Westing's family of wife and two daughters lived on Terra, now completely out of his reach, unless one attempted an eighteen-month long journey, a journey, none of the vessels of the Combined Five Civilized Nations Navy, except for the exploration vessels were prepared to make...

Sighing deeply, Captain Westing sat down at his command chair and waited...

(OOC: This is a RP in which an alien race completely cuts off my nation... The end result will be the loss of all my colonies, except for those on Terra (Earth). Everyone is invited to join in... But, please TG me with your idea first before you post! This has been moved from here (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=153080).)

Milintica, Jade Lord of the Jaguar Warrior caste, sat high on his command throne, towering over the circular bridge area of the Kulcucan War Cruiser, Mixcoatl, the Wind Serpent. Life had been good, the Gods obviously had cheered on his daring plan to strike out far from the home, hitting this system that the god of fortune had rendered isolated, easy pickings for his fleet.

His fellow Jade Lord, Ahuitzotl, who commanded the other War Cruiser that drifted alongside the portside of Milintica’s own ship, had commented on the accuracy of the Winged serpent that had borne them through God Space, depositing them directly over one of the transport gates. Milintica idly played with the jewelled chest plate that denoted his rank, his mind was drifting over the past week or so, how his high priest, Tizoc had stated that to get back home, the great serpent demanded a sacrifice of no less than a prince or other high ranking official. As yet, non had been captured, the Jade Lord was worried that his men would start to loose their glory lust, but as yet, that had not happened, thankfully the fighting had been vigorous and the foe in this system brilliantly innovative, pushing the fleets resources and abilities to the maximum. Many warriors had died in spectacular bloody clashes, their souls rightfully being borne to sit with the Gods. Likewise the enemy had fought hard, and not many had been taken alive, making those few that had, more precious to the priests and their offerings. Milintica smiled to himself, it was a good skirmish.
