OOC: This is a reply formerly contained in the First Strike thread however i elected to transplant it here to avoid confusing my two seperate battles with the three CO-OP battles already in the thread...Imgine i may post dribble here untill valinon has time to reply he is pretty busy right now so it may be slow...
Prime Minister Mike Sterns was not a warrior. Little more then fifty years prior to this moment like all Wickians he was a slave, to the Vagrant Overlords. The Rebellion freed his people from that hellish existence. The one thing he would not allow, could not allow would be the reoccupation of Thetis, and a new enslavement of his people. No like any cornered boar the Commonwealth Navy and her allies would charge their enemy, in a fit of rage hoping to do harm to their enemies who wish only to hunt them down.
---
Admiral Vigilance stood off to the side of a display which showed the distribution of forces across the entire Raumreich.
"We have three main goals in this First Strike. The first will be to support the raids the People's Navy and the Erehonesse will be committing in nearly all the systems of the GSA. They have incorporated a lance of our new Valkarie class carriers into the strike on Yalta, along with a flotilla of Fraternity-P class Battle Cruisers and escorts. Smaller detachments of the CN will be used in the raids on Madras and Stocrum. The second goal of the operation will be carried out by Vice Admiral Covington and that is the raid on the Cronos system. She will be hitting the system with enough force to due substantial harm to its defenders at that point she will consolidate her fleet at the new Ticonderoga base on our eastern flank half way between Thetis and Cronos. The final goal will be given into Rear Admiral of the Red Sir Eric Strength hands to complete. As you know sir Valinon has a base in the Yetti Star System, we suspect it is where his telepaths corps is stationed. As you can tell with the occupation of this system we will have a solid left flank, a stalwart to any attack from that direction. With Erewhon to the north and Ticonderoga to the east we will be able to commit more of our forces to any offensive engagement, Thetis will be secure.”
“A sound plan admiral, hopefully we can cripple our enemy for a time with it and also consolidate our own territorial defenses, we were forced into this, it was attack or be attacked, we could not afford to be attacked”.
“The Vernii say the same I just hope we have not awakened the fury of a dragon…
---
At H-Hour, the same time the Vernii Q-Ship strikes were occurring in the GSA, a fleet transitioned from hyperspace at the hyper limit of Cronos. The Wall that formed consisted 4 Super-Dreadnaughts, 16 Dreadnaughts, 12 Battleships, 8 Battle Cruisers and about 40 screening units. The SD's and DN's were all sporting a distinct ridge runnng along its ventral and dorsal surfaces.
A single message was sent to those military units in the system,
“I am Vice Admiral Lady Dame Covington of the Commonwealth Navy, a state of War exists between the GSA and the Triple Alliance from this day forth. We have come to this system to execute it.” With that the ships begin moving in system at 350 gravities.
---
The same occurred in the Yetti Star system, at the same time, 2 SD, 8 CLAC-BB, 6 BC, with 30 screening units. Except Rear Admiral Strength was a little less diplomatic with his message to the occupants of the system:
An image of a one armed man whose face was a littered with burn scars on its right side gave this message “My name is Strength, you can leave this system or die, I do hope you pick the latter.”
---
Numerous objects departed from the Wickian Wall of battle in Cronos. The RD Drones rapidly made their way to the inner system to gather information on what ever enemy forced waited there. A keen observer would notice something different with the four Super-Dreadnaughts a long ridge ran the length of its hull. Its purpose would be clear soon enough, of course all the ships towed missile pods... 20 for SD, 12 for DN 8 for a BC 4 for a CA/ each pod contain 12 Capital Ship class missiles.

Covington was staring at the tactical display which showed her wall of battle steadily moving into the Cronos system. Multiple RD drones moved far more rapidly into the interior of the system searching for the Zaku Navy.
This operation worried Covington, she hated ambiguity. All the enemies she fought in her life were evil, they all deserved to die. They were murderous pirates for the most part. These Zaku were different, they were honorable warriors. She would not enjoy crippling their navy.
It had to be done though, it was her duty. That one single word whenever she reminded herself of it, cast aside any doubts she had. She would do her duty because if she failed to do so Thetis would be threatened and she would not allow that so long as her lungs could draw breath.
The Zaku were members of the GSA, the same GSA that was plotting with the Ortagan Hegemony to occupy the entire southern march of the Raumreich, they could not afford to allow the Zaku the ability to strike Thetis or Gregor in the back as the Triple Alliance watched for the front door...yet what off the Zaku Flag officer out their commanding their defense fleet, he was also only doing his duty defending his system against her invasion, Covington had become the very thing she defended Thetis from an Invader
NO a voice in her head screamed this was a raid to cripple the Zaku ability to commit to any offensive engagement only, she was not going to occupy their would, or bombard its cities with asteroids, or enslave its people.
No matter her thoughts her mission was clear it was her duty to accomplish that, without her duty and her honor what else mattered.
Yetti's Star
For over an hour, no whisper of reply nor hint of action answer's Strength's challenge. Then sensors come alive as something moves from the depths of Yetti's Star's second planet, a blue-green cold jovian slightly larger than that of Sol's Neptune.
Suddenly, eight black and grey warships ascend from the bowel's of the giant's atmosphere and ride into the high orbit. They resemble predators of Old Earth, like great sharks in the blue expanse of an ocean. They hold fast, and appear to be contemplating the Wickian warships like devouring wolves.
Then the pulse hits the Wickian fleet, sensor and communication on-duty officers tear at their headsets as a high-pitched screech fills their ears. The signal does not cause any damage, but it matches nothing like known ECM, sensor sweeps, or EMP measures. A picture fills the comm viewscreen before strength, a man with glazed over-eyes, apparently blind, hold him in a cold, sightless gaze. The connection last no longer than four seconds, then it is cut off, the image falling in on itself.
The eight warships move in tandem now, rapidly accelerating. They climb rapidly past 600 gravities, and on to 700, then begin to stabilize around 800 gravities. They move toward the system's hyperlimit.
Vakutu (Cronos) System
At the very fringes of the system, Lord Admiral Ralgha nar Hhallas watches as the enemy fleet moves toward Vakutu, homeworld of the Vaku. He turns to his tactical officer aboard the flag bridge of the KIS Hvar'kann.
"Time until the defilers reach the perimeter of our home defenses?" he says in the harsh language of the Vaku.
"One hour, forty-three minutes, High Lord."
"Have the fleet prepare for intra-system jump at once! And bring up the link to the Claw squadrons! The time has come to launch our attack, and announce the strike of Jak-tu!"
"Yes, High Lord!"
Ralgha activates the comm at his station and prepares to address his forward strike pirates, "Pilots! The time has come for you to be called to perform your duty to the Emperor and the Empire! Soon your names will be whispered by all the children of Vakutu, and the Emperor himself with bless your names and prayers to the great goddess, Sivar! Your honor and your victory shall know no bounds here or beyond. You have in you the greatness of Skabak! Drive these Rugalga from our sun and our world! And with this act of most honorable Tagugar you shall become Kabaka and all your children and all your children's children shall become Ka'tagu! Go now, honored and sharpened Claws!"
The Lord Admiral takes a deep breath and roars one final blessing to the 200 pilots and the warriors aboard the forty-five breeching pods, "Ek'rah skabak erg Thrak'Vakutu maks Rag'nit!" (For the glory of Vakutu, the Emperor, and the Empire.
A chorus of return roars echoes Ralgha's own. 200 Strakha-class stealth fighters drop their cloaks and fly toward the Wickian formation at speeds in excess of 750 gravities. Each one has an 8.7-gigaton Valinor fusion warhead attached to their odd-shaped fuselages, and they move toward their targets with an eerie sense of purpose. Forty-five breeching pods accelerate under the cover of the storm of fighters, each filled with 257 of the best Vaku warriors, picked from the Emperor's personal legions. They move toward the dreadnoughts, hoping to sow further dissention among the enemy.
And Ralgha nar Hhallas' fleet prepares for its intra-system jump.

Strength's scarred face remained impassive through the entire exchange. However the fear in the eyes of some of the younger bridge officers was evident. Hushed whispers filled the bridge.
"Tactical do even the LAC's have a chance to intercept that squadron?"
"N--No sir, they have a higher base speed yet that squadron is accelerating much too fast for them to intercept before the hyper limit."
"Understood, their base must be on that planet. Navigation set a course for the fleet to enter missile range of the second planet, send a cruiser squadron in to investigate the planet."
Cronos
The Targeting Computers onboard the Wickians ships did not need to be ordered to fire on the incoming ships. It took a half a second to assign targets another half for the PD lasers and CM to begin to fire.
"Ma'am multiple bogeys inbound, over 235 contacts, under a million km distant accelerating at 750g's...they are heading straight toward our formation...I don’t know why they must be crazy."
"Now Lawrence they are far from crazy, they are the "Divine Wind", willing to sacrifice themselves to defeat us...order all commands to 450g's Their navy will not be far behind these fighters...
Yetti's Star
The warships continue on toward the hyperlimit, as they near the closest passing point to the Wickian fleet (roughly twelve million kilometers) a flury of activity surrounds the ships. Tens of new sensor contacts appear, and several minutes later the Wickian formation is hit by a wrathful series of dedicated sensor pulses and scans. The new contacts then spread out into a rough sphere around their parent ships, and continue to follow them on their move to the hyperlimit.
Close to twenty minutes later, the eight ships vanish into hyperspace. They leave behind an seemingly empty system, the hauntingly blue gas giant their only marker.
Vakutu (Cronos) System
Ignoring the eight-eight fighters already casaulties, and the continued explosions around them, the surviving Claws press on into the Wickian formation. They target battlecruisers, battleships, and dreadnoughts, using their manuverability and high acceleration to try and gain access to "up the kilt" and "down the throat" shots on their enemies. The first of the Claws slips through a warships PD, a mere fifty-five kilometer in front of a Wickian battleship. Suddenly a new sun tears through space as the pilot detonates his 8.7-gigaton warhead. It is followed by an explosion to the rear of a Wickian battlecruiser, roughly 125 kilometers away from the ship.
The breeching pods activate their strongest shielding systems, and press on, already reduced to thirty-eight. Two of the pods make a final course correction and touch off their booster systems, making at 809 gravities toward one of the Wickian super-dreadnoughts.
**********
"Prepare the fleet for jump in five minutes!" Ralgha nar Hhallas shouts to his communications officer.
"Yes, High Lord."
"Signal homeworld as well, inform them that the Claws have engaged the enemy and that I am preparing to do the same."[i]
[i]"Yes, High Lord!"

Whisper Palace, Silesia, Roum Major, Roum System, Hegemony of New Ortaga
Channing Ansel sits alone in his office, the rhythmic beat of his antique grandfather clock the only other presence in the room. He pours over the reports from his Strategos, Admiral Cima Garahou, and his Polemarch, the cold and efficient Jordan Galt.
The United Star Empire of Valinon has been attacked, a precision strike along its extend “border” with Vernii in the form of its satellites in the Gregor Sector Alliance. On the very eve of when the Valinor and the Ortagans were about to formalize their new alliance.
Ansel leans back in his chair and steeples his fingers. There is a decision to be made. The Hegemony is still unstable, dangerously so. It is burdened with the debts of the now dead aristocracy and the corrupted reign of the Corrin family during the Grand Duchy. His own reforms are just now taking their first steps to making the Hegemony self-sufficient again, and his own place of power cannot be assured completely with out the assistance of the Valinor—already contributing invaluable monetary assets to the bloated budgets and fragile economy of the Hegemony.
He gathers up the reports on their data crystals and sweeps them into a carrying case, then summons his aide, Valorie de Lommand. She enters his office moments later.
“Yes, Hegemon?”
“Contact the other members of the Council, I wish to meet with them in forty-five minutes.”
She nods, and backs out the door.
Whisper Palace, Silesia, Roum Major, Roum System, Hegemony of New Ortaga
Forty-six minutes later
Ansel sits before the “Interim” Governing Council of the Hegemony of New Ortaga. The Council consists of 7 Coordinators, although two of them receive special titles to reflect their slightly elevated standing in the Council. The other members of the Council are: Okati Kagoshima, Coordinator of the Treasury; Nathan Hawkes, Coordinator of the Exterior; Cynthia Ransom, Coordinator of the Interior; Crueyda Vandoran, Coordinator of Communication, and Allison Wolfe, Coordinator of Foreign Affairs. The other two members of the Council control the military and the united security and intelligence services of the Hegemony—Strategos Cima Garahou and Polemarch Jordan Galt.
“By now you have all read the reports of the attack on the Valinor by the members of the Triple Alliance. And by now you all know full well what our agreement with the Valinor was to be, even before the Verniians decided to accelerate this time schedule. Allison has been in contact with Princess Josephine to assure the final details of our agreement have been worked out. Allison, if you would?”
“Thank you, sir,” she says and looks at the other members of the Council.
“The Valinor are committed to repulsing the Verniian military from the members of the Gregor Sector Alliance, as well as from the Cronos system. Princess Josephine has said that her brother will guarantee us our carte blanche agreement as long as we confine ourselves to the operational sphere dictated in the terms of our treaty. Currently, we are more than welcome to take any operations we see fit to disrupt or more preferably destroy the continuity of the Triple Alliance. After that confirmation, I have met discreetly with several other parties and have negotiated the use of several reinforcement points for our military usage.”
She turns to Garahou, “I trust you received that information.”
“I did,” says the former admiral.
“Then I am finished, Hegemon.”
“Thank you, Allison. Cima, are our operational plans in place?”
“Yes, sir. I have our forces in Seljuk and Axis ready to scramble at a moment’s notice. Also, Admiral Hellings is ready with the Riven Expeditionary Fleet, and with your permission I would like to give him the clear to begin operations within the Triple Alliance.”
“Done,” Ansel says.
“What about a declaration of war?” says Crueyda Vandoran, the ice colored eyes of the Hegemony’s propaganda wizard holds the Hegemon in her gaze.
“There won’t be one. I will be addressing the populace at the time Admiral Hellings is entering the Thetis system, though. I trust you can attend to those details?”
“Of course.”
“Good. Now, Jordan, do we have any actions we should know about from the members of the Alliance. Besides the Erewohnese?”
“Not anything of major note,” says the Polemarch, hands calmly folded in his lap. “Although we have reports from our agents in Gregor that the members of several Cabinet level officials, including the President, have fled from Vernii. They’re believed to be seeking refuge outside the Raumreich, most likely Sol or one of the systems near the Alpha Centauri side of the Valinor Wormhole Junction.”
“I want them found, Jordan. And then I want them brought here. We can give them as a gift to Emperor Gustav when we do get them. Place a bounty on their heads…,” Ansel turns to face Kagoshima.
“14 million solaris for each sounds reasonable in my opinion.”
“Very well then, start with 14 million. Alive, Jordan, alive. At least the President’s family.”
Galt nods.
“Then this meeting is concluded,” Ansel picks up his materials. “However, I would like to speak with you for a moment Crueyda.”
HSS Phoenix, Seljuk System, Operational Center for Solar Navy Eastern Operation Zone
3 hours later
Admiral Hellings smoothes his uniform once again, listening to the hum of background activity from the bridge of one of the newest ships in the Solar Navy. He turns away from the view of the finally assembled Riven Expeditionary Fleet, and moves toward the rear of the bridge. The young captain of the Phoenix comes to attention.
“I will be on the combat bridge if you need me, Captain Tiol. The fleet will depart at no later than 0800.”
“Yes, Admiral.”
Hellings sweeps into the lift, and enters the location sequence to get him to the combat bridge buried in the bowels of the first ship in the new Phoenix class dreadnoughts. He activates the watch function on his tel-link.
“0745,” says the mechanical voice.
At 0748 Hellings steps into the subdued atmosphere of the ship’s combat bridge, designed to be the nerve center for the entire fleet. Two dozen crewmen sit at their stations, coordinating with the rest of the Riven Fleet’s 228 warships and the massive super-battleship Behemoth.
“Commander Ikuga, are we ready for the translation?”
“Yes, Admiral. All ships are on course for the Erewohn system.”
Hellings nods and moves to the combat bridge’s massive holotank, watching as his fleet accelerates to break orbit with Seljuk’s major planet: Seljuk II. He watches as one of the orbital fortresses releases a series of drop-pods, most likely delivering troops from Alpha Wing to deal with a brief flare up by the planet’s native populace. Like the others in the past ten months since the Hegemony annexed Seljuk, it will be dealt with in short order.
“Coming up on course correction for final translation point to Erewohn.”
“All according to plan, all according to plan,” Helling’s whispers to himself. A series of counters appear on the display of Seljuk II as a series of bomb runs is completed and the fighters return to their orbital bases. Before long, rebellion on Seljuk II will be nothing but a fading memory. Just like it was for the people of New Edo, and before them the people of Juria, and before that the separatists in Immolan. Nothing can for long forestall the progress of the Hegemony, or its will to expand.

"Its concrete sir, The Solar Fleet is going to enter Thetis through the Erewhon -Thetis termini." Admiral of the Green Vigilance said.
'Damn them all to hell, both of the Erewhon and the Ortagans. If they didn't betray the Alliance we could have ambushed the Ortagans in Erewhon the odds would have been better..." the PM said.
"I agree whole heartedly sir, yet do not discount the fleet sir, make no mistake this battle will be bloody, there will be no quarter asked or given but we can do that fleet harm...Sir, I suggest we begin to evacuate as many civilians as we can, first to Ticonderoga then to refugee points we planned."
"Yes of course general...I will remain on Thetis until the end if it comes to that.” Sterns said his voice icy.
"NO, sir you can't do that, the government must survive this attack, it can be established in exile...' The PM cut the admiral off,
"Daniel, you will be up their fighting in the cold vacuum of space with our sons and daughters fighting, that is your place. Mine is my people here we can not evacuate them all, I will not leave them to the Ortagan occupation alone. Evacuate as much of the parliament as possible though they will carry on in my place."
"I understand sir,' Vigilance rose from his seat "I wear the Vagrants ID tattoos, my back bear the jagged scars of an electro-whip, Thetis shall not be enslaved by another power so long as I have a beating heart."
"I remember to my friend. Well I will leave you to execute your duty, Dismissed, and may the Tester protect you." As the admiral went to attention and left the room Sterns had an eerie feeling his old friends vow would be fulfilled.

Vakutu (Cronos) System
The breeching pods attach themselves to the super-dreadnoughts hulls and powerful arc-cutters are brought to bear on the battle steel of the Wickian vessels. A short airlock extends as the cutters prepare to make their final breech. At the entry way to the airlock, Vaku warriors ready themselves, making final weapons checks and adjusting their armor.

"All Claw squadrons and breeching pods have completed their runs, High Lord!" says the tactical section chief.
"Helm?" says nar Hhallas
"Yes, Lord?"
"Bring my flagship to the jump. Comm, signal to the rest of the fleet to do the same."
"Yes, High Lord."
"Now we bring our attack full circle."
Eight minutes later, the multi-colored vortex of Vaku jump-space exit points form 3,500 kilometers behind the Wickian fleet. Six of the exit points form up and from them spills the entirety of the Imperial Fleet of the Greater Empire of Vakutu. The heavy carriers and dreadnoughts begin to spew forth hundreds of smaller fighters and the ships move rapidly to bring their engagement to one of the closest ever known in the Raumreich as their first hailstorm of energy fire screams toward the Wickian formation.

For the better part of a half hour nothing greets the efforts of the Wickian pinnaces or the heavy cruisers in orbit. But then, something begins to change in the jovian's northern atmospheric latitudes. A vortex forms in the gas giant's cloud layers, swirling the blue-green clouds as lightening discharges spew forth from the massive disturbance. Three minutes later, black spires begin to emerge from the cloud layers, and strange blue-glowing disc swirl the final layers of clouds even further.
A massive cross between a station and a ship emerges from the depths of the cold jovian. Its hull is black, with an array of glowing discs and and formidable impeller signature. It skims across the top layers of clouds and then several points begin to glow on its hull. Without warning, nine massive MAC shots shoot forward toward the cruisers in orbit at a speed of 615 kilometers/second. They are followed by eighteen smaller, slower moving mass driver projectiles moving at 535 kilometers/second at additional targets. A host of parasite drone craft begin to fly off the thing's surface and form a cloud around it as it streaks to break through the atmosphere.

Covington knew from the moment that the kamikaze fighters struck her fleet that this was going to be a desperate battle, the Vaku fleet's appearance at such a close range proved that.
3,500 km was an absurdly close range for any modern fleet to fight at, and with Grasers and lasers, it would prove suicidal for both sides. The Vaku sacrificed missile broadsides for addition energy mounts. Wickian doctrine was alike that way except they sacrificed energy mounts for additional missile tubes. However the mounts they did have though fewer than would be present on similar class vessels in other nation's navies the Wickians energy armaments were much stronger. So although they could not engage as many target those that they did would find them being hit by a sledge hammer so to speak.
The second the Vaku fleet appeared they hit the Wickian vessels up their kilt , with no sidewall present the Vaku broadsides were not degraded at all. A fraction of a thousandth of a second after that the stern mounts on the Wickian vessels returned fire (These stern mounts are very large in caliber if not in quantity). 3 of Wickian dreadnaughts, another 4 of battle ships simply disappeared in the Vaku initial broadside. Numerous screening units were destroyed or crippled at least a dozen.
"Turn hard to port present our broadsides, all ships fire as they bear, rapid continuous broadsides. Flush the Rails, use contact nukes for all missile launches at this range PD is not a factor." Covington ordered.
Another Vaku broadside struck, however no sidewalls were able to degrade their shots by a fraction. Another dreadnaught was lost, another crippled. Even a might SD appeared to have been crippled... But now the Wickians were able to answer in earnest.
The Vernii designed Rail conversion were flushed sending over 10160x-ray bursts at the Vaku, over the entire fleet launched nukes at the Vaku from broadside launchers over 1200. The missile pods trailing behind the Wickian fleet were flushed sending over another 2824 missiles' x-rays at the Vaku.
Most importantly of all the Fraternity class battle cruisers untouched by Vaku so far went to continuous fire on their ten broadside Grasers each at SD class size. Not to mention the 3 surviving SD themselves who mounted 16 grasers.
Never before had any fleet from any nation suffered as many casualties as the Vaku and Wickian fleets had in this battle in such a short time. All of this so far has occurred in less than 30 seconds...It was a blood bath.
Total Strength of Wickian Fleet:
3 SD
12 DN
8 BB
8 BC
26 screening units
The Imperial Fleet fairs little better than its opponent in the desperate engagement it finds itself in. In the blink of an eye, the massive duel of energy flying between the capital ships and their escorts turns into a virtual tidal wave of death. In the opening rounds, the Vaku fleet receives just as heavy casaulties as it deals to its opponent.
Escorts and destroyers vanish in a blink of an eye, their lighter defenses, shields, and armor unable to handle the oncoming hell storm arrayed against them. Cruisers are the next hardest hit of the Vaku ships, but even seven of the mighty dreadnoughts of the Fleet are laid low by the Wickian fire. However, nar Hhallas's gambit pays off, the Wickians are just as stunned by the close encounter to grant the Vaku carriers lee-way. Now 778 fighters and bombers are flying through the Vaku capital ship formation, headed toward the Wickian formation.
Ralgha nar Hhallas pulls himself to his feet, the Hvar'kann, itself had taken a hit to one of its three flight bays. It remained heavily damage, and the explosions had rocked even the security of the dreadnought's flag bridge.
"Ready the new defensive systems! Deploy the Strakh'th platforms. We will see how the defilers' missiles do against our laser traps!"
"Yes, High Lord!"
"High Lord, three destroyers and two surviving escorts are heavily damaged. They are plotting ramming courses with the Wickian ships. Two destroyers and an escort are moving against two battlecruisers, the remaining destroyer is on a ramming course for an enemy dreadnought."
"Their ancestors and their descendants will be honored for eternity for the blood they spill with their claws!" nar Hhallas roars. "What of our squadrons? Are they within range?"
"High Lord, the carrier coordinators report that their squadrons are making their attack runs now."
Nar Hhallas' eyes flash with predatory glee and a deep growl of pleasure escapes from deep within his throat, "Form up the fleet in a Karga formation! We will make for the heart of our enemies and rend it from their torso!"
"Yes, High Lord!"
As the Vaku fleet begins to form into a massive, multi-pronged V-formation and overlap its shields, the Vaku fighters make their run. As the agile fighters release 1,345 missiles, ranging from X-ray warheads to nuclear warheads, the bomber squadrons release deadlier payloads. Nine-hundred fifty-six five-point seven gigaton nuclear mines roar toward the Wickian formation. Their Valinor guidance systems are driven by "dumb" suicide AIs, designed to attach to the hull of the ships. After the bombers release their "irregular" rounds, they join the fighters in launching additional missiles, some of near capital-ship class caliber.
Meanwhile, the wrecked destroyers and escorts press onto their chosen targets. They vent atmosphere, and in a few cases bodies, as they close for the ultimate kill. The joy of creatures that started as pack hunters on the plains of Vakutu Prime flow back, and they lust now to taste the blood of their preybeasts.
**********
Chaos will soon be had on the Wickian super-dreadnoughts. From the twenty surviving breeching pods, carrying 257 warriors each, spill their deadly cargo forward. The green swirling gases from the Vaku airlocks flows into the Wickian ships, announcing their invaders arrival. Then come the warriors themselves.
The shortest Vaku in the boarding crews is at least six feet three inches, all are clad in gleaming silver armor. The armor is spiked, angular, and harsh, its purpose as blatantly obvious as the felinoid roots of the predatory Vaku themselves. They carry massive assault rifles, easily twice the size of standard weapons carried by human counterparts and they move with a swift, killer grace. They charge out of their breeching pods, forward most warriors training their weapons around corridor corners as they prepare to move deeper into the vessels they have boarded.

The Burlington province of Thetis was prime farm country, known for the wheat and dairy products it produced. The terrain was a gentile collection of rolling hills covered in green wheat, sporadic farmhouses dotted the landscape. The while of an air-bike seemed out of place in this serene landscape. The sleek air-bike traveled at what a typical farmer would consider to be reckless velocity. Suddenly the bike front end lifted into the air drastically slowing its speed, until it came to a stop at one of the farmhouses. Two figures dismounted from the air-bike, clad in the form-fitting green over blue of the Wickian Naval academy. One was male the other judging by her shapely curves was obviously female. They stripped their helmets revealing characteristics that were unique to those who inhabited Thetis, bald heads and vivid and unique eye stripping that ringed their skulls in unique patterns and always a different shade of color. The male’s is an azure blue while the female’s is a bright green that contrasts well with her tanned skin.
“Mom! Dad hello!” he states as he kisses his mothers cheek and embraces his father in a hug. “May I introduce Kay Faith, a fellow cadet and my girlfriend.”
“Oh sweetie I’m so happy for you…Come inside supper is almost ready we can talk about everything….
---
The dinner was typical Wickian fare, a salad, a think meaty stew with rolls and a full bodied ale to wash it all down…
‘So Jason how long will you and Kay be staying with us?” the mother said to her son.
“That’s the good news ma we have until the beginning of next term, so two full t-months here. I was hoping I could help dad sow the crops for next season’s harvest.”
“Of course son, I need all the help I can get, perhaps we can even show Kay how to do an honest day of good hard work.”
“I would like that sir.” Kay told Jason’s father
“I got to tell you two kids something…we all here in the family, the whole town respect what you are doing. Its not easy committing to the a life of service and sacrifice. I had the privilege of being apart of the crusade that drove the vagrants from this world, it is those like you who will help keep it free.” His father stated his voice serious.
It was at this point that if an all powerful being control the universe with an ultimate plan was proved to be very cruel indeed. A harsh beep filled the dining room Jason pulled the offending notepad from his breast pocket. Before it was halfway out another beep filled the room and Kay likewise repeated the process.
‘What is it Jason,?” his mother said with audible concern in her voice.
“It’s an emergency recall of the Corps of Cadets we are to report to the Academy Space Station immediately.”
“What how can they do that you just got here? They can do that can they Bob?”
“There most be something big going on honey, they got to go…” With that said both Kay
and Jason grabbed their luggage and soon the sound of their bike was heard speeding off. “What how can they do that you just got here? They can do that can they Bob?”

Erewohn/Thetis Wormhole Terminus, Thetis System, Commonwealth of Wick
1930
The space marking the exit point of the Erewohn/Thetis wormhole terminus was suddenly turned into anything but an empty void. Sensors within the system are suddenly sent screaming as the arrival of Helling’s Riven Expeditionary Fleet is announced by the arrival of its massive number of ships, and the even more massive super-battleship known as the Behemoth.
At the rear of the formation, in the shadow of the ponderous bulk of the Behemoth, is a modified cargo conveyor, commandeered by the Solar Navy for this operation. Strapped to the conveyor’s extended external slip-frames are four massive stabilization struts—the basis of a warp gate. It’s pulse beacon transponder has been preset to link it to one of its sister gates, specifically the warp gate currently stationed in the Seljuk system, where an invasion fleet awaits the signal from Helling’s to bring their deadly cargo to Thetis.

“All ships have reported in, Admiral Hellings! The retranslation is complete!”
“Full sensor scan on the system now!” Helling’s barks. “Let’s find out where the Wickians are hiding, chances are it won’t be too far from the terminus.”
“Yes, Admiral!”
Hellings steeples his fingers, and his eyes droop to half-close.
“Admiral….,” the tone the tactical adjutant uses does not bode well with Hellings.
“Yes?”
“Sir, we have estimated fleet numbers based on impeller signatures. The readings from the inner system are mostly snarled, but it is clear we are looking at no less than 75-80 capital ships, over 70 battleship and battle cruiser classes, and over 300 screening units.”
Hellings hisses, “They know. But how…,” his eyes are wide now.
“No matter. Form up on the Behemoth, escort formation. Have the Star Hammer, Relentless, and Abyss ready their main cannons and singularity missiles. We will even the odds soon enough. Also contact Rear Admiral Rosecran, the Behemoth is to deploy the new Wraith fighters at once, and ready its own main cannon.”
“Yes, Admiral.”
“Set a course for in-system, and have the monitors ready to be released for combat on my command.”
“Yes, Admiral.”

Junction Fortress
2131
Vice Admiral Frank Crown commander of the Termini Junction Fortress knew the moment he dreaded has finally come as the Hegemony Fleet retranslated into the system. The sheer size of the aggressor fleet meant that his entire command would be destroyed, yet it would come at a prize.
"Instructed all commands, they may fire at will." Crown ordered.
With that command over 10,000mines each equal to a standard capital ship missile detonated. There were a dozen fortresses forming a perimeter around the junction each only slightly smaller then a dreadnaught, went to continuous firing on all broadside tubes, and flushed the missile pod they towed. Sending 2148 Missiles at the Hegemony fleet, the forts would send a follow up broadsides of 500 missiles every 24 seconds. All of these missiles were targeted at the units screening the behemoth.
The forts are 2 million km from the junction

Admiral Vigilance stared at the holo-tank which displayed the entire system, and represented every ship larger than a LAC graphically. The Wormhole junction was a mass or angry red surrounded by a thin perimeter of green. Yellow darts moved towards the red mass indicting the missiles in flight. What really pained Vigilance was that even though his fleet had advanced warning of the Hegemony invasion, it did not come soon enough for the reinforced Home Fleet to be in firing range of the junction. He could do nothing to help his friend. His fleet was still 15 million km from the junction, 9 km too far…

Fire was exchanged numerous ships sustained damage, none so much to kill a hip anymore as wedges began to clock return fire.

Six boarder pods landed on 2 super-dreadnaughts and 8 on the damaged one. As the fearsome aliens penetrated into the ships outer hull blast doors were slammed shut all around them trapping the boarders. Panels of the outer hull were blown off turning all the corridors which were invaded into a vacuum.

The division of heavy cruisers in orbit of the blue jovian had no time to react as the projectiles impacted on their hulls. The spine of one was shattered as the ship was split in two, venting atmosphere, the other was crippled her wedge flickering as she attempted to withdrawal.
Vakutu (Cronos) System
A series of Wickian attacks, guided by sheer dumb luck, manage to destroy another escort of the Vaku fleet. Ralgha nar Hhallas gnashes his teeth and feels his claws extend.
"Maximum acceleration! Prepare to pursue the defilers! We will molest them all the way until they leave Vakutu!"
"Yes, High Lord!" shouts a young tactical crewman, nar Hhallas feels the fear in his voice and realizes how far his rage has eaten into his mind. He closes his inner and outer eyelids and takes a few calming breaths.
"Send the escorts and the destroyers ahead of the fleet. They are to skirmish ahead of our main force. The dreadnoughts and cruisers will follow at best possible speed. Inform the carrier group they are to return to Vakutu post-haste."
"Yes, High Lord."
The Lord Admiral of the Imperial Fleet watches his displays intently, as his faster escorts and destroyers sweep out behind his main formation. They are lead by the fighters alone, as they bear down on the retreating Wickian group. They gnaw at the enemy vessels as they try and pull away.

The sudden decompression is no surprise to the Vaku boarding teams. Their training sessions with Valinor Sardaukar have left them intimately aware of the tactics commonly used by the nations of the Raumreich to repel borders. Even as the blast doors slam shut, the boarding teams bring up their powered boots in their armor and attach themselves firmly to the floor. Their armor retains their personal enviroments as the atmosphere of the warships rush out.
The commands on the ship following the venting is the same, a group of four Vaku approach the doors. Two begin to attach explosive charges to the doors, while the other pair covers the doorway. The rest of the squads ready themselves to launch the next phase of their attack against the super-dreadnoughts.

The area around the fleet is set ablaze by point defense systems, mostly energy as the Solar Navy has largely abandoned missiles as primary weaponry. The formidable, wide dispersion batteries aboard the fleets Hegemony class dreadnoughts fair well against the missile storm, what their fire misses, their gravimetric shields disperse. The light ships of the fleet cannot turn away the barrage as well. Three of the Roum[i] class war frigates and nine of the new carrier destroyers perish from the Wickian defenses attack. Seven of the agile monitors cannot dodge the fire effectively and join the other warships as casaulties. The sphere of warships around the [i]Behemoth redeploy to shield it after taking their casualties.
The gravimetric signatures of the fleet fluctuate again as they begin to link their shields together, providing a more effective defense against the further rounds of Wickian attacks.

Hellings silences the damage reports from the other ships with a flick of a finger. He then brings his chair to the very edge of the combat bridge's holotank.
"Release the monitors for close range engagement! Give all squadrons patterns for best known close range energy attacks against the Wickian fortresses."
"Yes, Admiral."
"Does Rear Admiral Rosecran's have definite targeting patterns on any of the enemy installations?"
"Yes, Admiral, the Behemoth has a clear attack pattern on four seperate defense installations. Two of which are in range of the main cannon."
"Redeploy the fleet to allow Admiral Rosecrans to engage with the main cannon. Signal the Star Hammer, the Relentless, and the Abyss as well they are to ready their own cannons with the Phoenix's. Then target the nearest installations in range!"
"Yes, Admiral."
The fleet shifts again, leaving vortexes to allow the large energy batteries of the Behemoth and the Phoenix class dreadnoughts room to fire. Suddenly, four individual beams of green-white energy leap from the Phoenix dreadnoughts, aimed at four seperate forts. The Behemoth soon joins their fire, a massive beam of gold-white energy stabs out of the energy sink at the heart of its hull. The beam moves rapidly across space to encompasse two Wickian forts whole. Meanwhile, sixteen heavy ion cannons, twenty-three ion cannons, and over thirty battle lasers target the other two fortresses in the Behemoth's range. As the super-battleship and the dreadnoughts try the defenses of Thetis, fifty-three Ansel class monitors fly into the fray, blazing away with their own array of energy fire and sending contact fusion mines toward the fortresses.

Subspace, enroute to Aurora Prima
As subspace's red plane of chaos unfolded and warped before the bridge of the Kusarigama, High Admiral Kano Arakata let his mind drift, as warp travel so often inspired.
'Dëlain would love this kind of mission. Going in with minimal cover to take out a ferocious superweapon, and then facing two fleets in succession. Oh yes, fun indeed.' He pondered a bit dryly.
A lighter patch of blurry red marked the end of the subspace lane, and the Admiral straightened a bit in his seat in anticipation.
The Aurora System
Blue lights around the rim of the gate blinked on as the space within the huge construct began to twist itself inwards, finally cracking under the intense energy and tearing a hole into subspace from which a sinister red glow flooded from. Golden energy crackled along the gate's three rings and the rift wobbled before opening larger. From the rapidly expanding tear came a cluster of ships, deceptively elegant and graceful in their variety of figures. No challenge to their arrival bubbled up from the ever busy surface of the watery planet before them. This was a heavily secreted military operation, no hinderances were desired here. The fleet waited quietly for their expected reinforcements.

He knew he was dead the moment the screen redeployed to allow the "Big Guns" of the Behemoth and its Dreadnaught consort to fire. However Crown hoped this would open a hole in the point defense of the enemy his forts could take advantage of. Plus he had a little surprise.
The Wickian forts were placed so that at anyplace surrounding the junction no less then four forts would have overlapping fields of fire. Crown decided it was time to employ a tactic normally used by LAC squadrons but on a larger scale...the Triple Ripple. His command would only have time for two broadsides so it wouldn’t be a true version of that tactic but he hoped it would suffice.
“Guns initiate plan Baker-Alpha 1.” Crown said coldly.
With that the four forts fired two broadsides a single missile left Crown’s fort a second later then the rest of his second broadside. That was when the Hegemony’s own massive broadsides impacted upon the four targeted forts. The Behemoth’s main gun targeted Crown’s fort and its neighbor they were completely destroyed in the Holocaust. The remaining two Forts sidewalls initially held up as well as could be expected against Behemoth energy weapons, over half were deflected away doing no damage, the rest impacted on the massive fortresses carving massive damage through them. They would have still been combating able had it not been for the DN’s singularity broadsides which finally crippled any offensive action the massive fortress were capitable of. A whole was created in the Fortresses line, through which the Solar navy could pour through. The remaining fortresses would be able to shoot at the navies flanks as they past but that was all.
Crown’s first broadside of plan Baker-Alpha detonated well beyond the expected range of laser heads, because they were not laser heads, in fact they carried no ECM at all or pen-aids. They were the dirtiest, nastiest, nuclear warheads ever made whose only purpose was to confuse the enemies Point Defense and to through a clouds of EMP and nasty radiation at any remote sensor drones.
The Second broadside would detonate at the 20k km range and spew their x-ray lasers not Behemoth but one of its DN consort equipped with the smaller behemoth style cannon, taking advantage of the confusion established by the initial broadside. The final missile launched late was different then any missile ever fired by a Wickian vessel it was in-fact of Valinon design a Fusion bomb with a warhead measured in the giga-ton range(obtained from a trusting source). It was intended to be the warhead to finish off the dreadnaught and anyone else unlikely enough to be close by it.

Arakata smiled thinnly to himself as the Wickian reinforcements jumped in. At least they held up their end of the deal. He wondered if the Wickians knew all the details. They were taking a very small force against this Behemoth thing, and he was beginning to wonder if he'd get out alive. This was a very crucial mission, however, and the Wickian future...and his career...were on the line. Ambition always had it's card to play. The High Admiral smiled grimly again.
He glanced nervously to the left, and then to the right, out of the nickel titanium reinforced plasteel at the Arbiter-class battleships, one to each side of him. Three in total, including the one he stood inside. Nine million missiles combined. Their plan was simple, but logical. Right up the beast's ass.
He returned to silently hoping for just another day of life.

The eight Province class destroyers of DesRon XVIII floated silently in space near the fortress, supply depot, and maintenance yard that made up the People's Navy's base in Thetis. Commodore Franchere sat silently on the bridge of his flagship, Aragon. The communications officer's station beeped as new orders were transmitted. She uploaded them to his command chair's display screen, and he read them. Rear Admiral Layton had ordered Franchere to put his squadron under the command of Supreme Admiral Vigilance. Franchere sighed, hopefully the Ortagans wouldn't bother with anything as small as a mere destroyer. He doubted it though. "Take us up to 550 Gs to the main body of the Commonwealth fleet. But it's got more than ninety billion subscribers at last count. You need something, you can get it on the Net.
Because of the distances between stars, most of the Net is concentrated in star systems. Unless the two star systems have something like a quantum inseperability link, you can't communicate real-time from star to star. There's agencies which make a buisness of searching their star system's net for you.
Chances are the Ortagans have a link to the Galaxy Net somewhere in their government network. If they do, I can get in.
If I'm lucky, I can get a real-time connection; if I can't, I'll have to hijack a private processor stack and copy myself into it so I can work without any lag.

Thetis System
600,000km behind Behemoth
The Cyberutopia Taskforce and the gathered Wickian force appeared instantly behind Behemothand immediately cleared for action. This is a special Taskforce formed by the Commonwealth Navy with one purpose in mind to kill Behemoth and the Warp gate.
The C.N. Taskforce included two ships never before seen in its wall of battle, a Takian Evangelian class battleship and the C.N new prototype SD the CNS Arduous. The Arduous bears two Super Grav-Lances each with a range of million and a half km capable of disabling the strongest of shields/sidewalls, leaving them open for follow up broadsides of powerful energy torpedoes.
The Battleship opened up on the Warpgate with all its might...torpedoes , and slicer-beams carved angrily at their target. The Arduous fired upon Behemothwith its powerful grav-Lances.
Fifteen hundred Takian Gunships advanced at flank speed towards both targets.

Hellings watches as the WIckian rear counterattack moves to tear into the rear ranks of his command. A frosty smile crosses his face.
"As we expected. Deploy the gravimetric statis system. Let us show the Wickians that there alliance with the fabulist Takans will gain them nothing."
"Yes, Admiral."
Skeletal metal hexagons spiral away from the Phoenix dreadnoughts and the larger Behemoth, totaling 750 in all. They are the latest of Ginias Saharin's bastard children, more weaponry for a force already deadly enough to swallow planets whole. At their most basic the hexagons are stripped down gravimetric shield projectors, designed to do one thing after deploying: create a gravimetric stasis field. The field is a super-concentration of gravimetric energy, so thick it allows nothing to come in or out. But the system is unstable, and the gravimetric concentration rapidly collapses in on itself, resulting in a basic implosion.
The hexagons expand outward behind the Behemoth, strange energy signatures pulse out over an area over 1,300 kilometers across. They move to encompass the Takan gunships and missiles with ease. Focusing themselves and moving to create a sphere of gravimetric energy.
Nothing can be done for the Slicer cannon energy though, and four Hegemony class dreadnoughts are extinquished by their attack. Several segments of the Behemoth's own shields give away, and energy gouges at the massive ships hull.
Hellings watches as the counter ticks down toward the stasis field's implosion overload.
"Activate the warp gate," he says. The four prongs of the warp gate separate from their modifed tug and stabilize. The energy pulse of a warp womrhole activation fill the sensors.
"And now the end game," Hellings says. The first squadron of additional Hegemony class dreadnoughts arrive, followed by another 6 Phoenix class dreadnoughts. The gate need only stay open for three minutes more to allow another 12 Hegemony class dreadnoughts, 4 Phoenixes, and the vast Ortagan troop convoy through.
"Signal to the Star Hammer, the Relentless, and the Abyss. They are to come about and form up on the Phoenix. Main cannons are to fire on that Takan warship."
"Yes, Admiral."
The 4 original Phoenix class dreadnoughts move agily around the Behemoth, green and white energy forming at the end of their wing pylons and at the tip of their extended prow. Then the energy singatures fire, merging at the prow and streaking toward the Wickian counterattack ships. Only 1/3 of the Behemoth's main cannon's power, the attacks are no less formidable and are launched from a more mobile platform. They carve toward the rear attack. The newly arrived 12 Hegemony class dreadnoughts and new Phoenixes do the same. The vast energy batteries of the Solar Navy's most powerful capital ships blaze at their new enemies. Effective at 2 million kilometers, they are a hammer force at such close range. Meanwhile, the Behemoth moves to bring its own rear batteries to bear, belching fire from its ion cannons and battle lasers. The rim of the Thetis system dissipates into a lightening storm of energy fire as the Solar Navy falls on its opponents.

OOC: think my attack on the warp gate was missed oh well...
C.N.S Wraith
Captian Covington recently returned from the expedition to Vaku commanded the Takian BB. She is the protégée of no other then Admiral Vigilance himself, she burned for battle. More then a dozen beams impacted upon the BB shields, that amount of firepower would have shattered any Wickian SD but this battleship was designed to negate the effect of just such beams. The shields held…long enough to prevent the destruction of the ship.
Even the layered Takian shields which were designed to hold out against such beams would not hold indefinitely against such raw power, the shield generators literally shot sparks as they strain against such power. Another shot it could not repel.
Covington heard the panicked reports from the shield rooms as well as the multitude of reports from weapon and tactical stations which reported the complete loss of the gunship wing.
“Guns, swing three of the slicer beams into the warp gate, take it out, have the other two target the two closest DN’s. Turn the ship, present our bows to the enemy engage with the Nova Cannon as it bears!”
With that the massive ship swings presenting its Nova cannon launching its destructive power towards behemoth, over a 150 lance cannons spewed their space version of ‘Greek fire” at another DN. The remaining 380 conventional laser/ion weapons turrets on the BB target the troop transports that enter the Thetis system through the warp gate.
C.N.S Arduous
A thin smile appeared on Captain (Sr.) Benito face as he saw the initial battle devolved. He was overjoyed as segments of the shields on Behemoth faltered and failed. Four DN was a fine kill rate for the Takian BB. As the numerous rays of death converged upon her hull he cringed as the massive ship took damage. It appeared his own ship was being left alone, his time to strike was now.
His ship was designed to be a killer at close range. The Wickian answer to the Vaku, she was a killer at under a million km’s. The Super Grav Lances would disable any sidewall, and would be effective upon shields, somewhat.
But segments of Behemoth shields were down leaving the Super Battleship vulnerable to the Arduous energy broadside and even more importantly her Energy torpedoes. The energy torpedo, which fired what were for all intents and purposes packets of plasma confined in electromagnetic bottles. Energy torpedoes moved at near-light speeds, which made them very difficult for point defense to engage, but the energy torpedo had no homing capability. This made it a purely ballistic weapon, so the initial (and only) fire control solution was far more critical than for missiles, and the endurance of its "bottle" was barely more than one second, limiting absolute energy torpedo range to 500,000 kilometers or so. These Torpedoes are extremely powerful and quick firing. If a sidewall was to fail even a mighty SD would be crippled in mere seconds.
"Guns, lets show the Solar Navy that the Wickians will not fade quietly into the night. RAPID FIRE ON ALL TORPEDO TUBES AND GRASERS, FIRE! Keep hitting with the grav lances!"
With that fifty energy torpedoes were shot at the Behemoth at the rate of 1 broadside every half a second. 20 450 cm Grasers also were directed at the super battleship.

One Hegemony class dreadnought erupts into an expanding fireball, rapidly perishing in the vacuum of space. Another reels away from the engagement, it's port side warped into running metal and alloy.
Helling's armada continues its assault, pouring energy into the Takan battleship. The newly arrived Hegemony dreadnought squadrons split into two groups of 12 and move to engage the other ships.
"Admiral! WIckians are attempting to disable the warp gate."
"Deploy the gravimetric shield matrixes now!"
The Ortagans have long envied the wedges of the surrounding Raumreich nations' warships, but their own ships dependency on their gravimetric tech for so much of their functions limits the power of their shields. However, a new design rolled of the lines based on the stasis field project. Namely defense screens, concentrations of mobile shield projectors based on parasite satellite tech secured from Valinon at great expense. New, sleek black orbs detach from the Hegemony and Phoenix dreadnoughts, a third of which move toward the warp gate. They encase it in a protective shielding at least on par with that of a WIckian warships impeller wedge. Similar fields move to cover large chunks of the Behemoth that lies unshielded.
But it is not quite enough, two of the Behemoth's massive pointed secondary sections warp along the fringes. Batteries and sensor stations warp and distort, crippling the vast ship in its rear firing arcs.
"Damage report from the Behemoth!" Hellings snaps.
"Trying to stabilize shields, Admiral. Reporting a thirty-eight percent loss of rear engagement capacity. Request permission to accelerate toward oncoming WIckian home fleet."
"Granted, inform the Behemoth the fleet will deal with these rearguard assassins. In the mean time, prepare a Vortex class warhead and prime a full ECM screen wave."
"Done, Admiral."
"Range to the WIckian home fleet?"
"7,850,577, Admiral."
"Close enough for proximity kills. Fire the Vortex, demonstrate to this second-rate space power the might of the Hegemony. Meanwhile contact the newly arrived squadrons and monitor screen 23. Have them form up on the Phoenix we will take this battle to the enemy."
Thirty-six Hegemony class dreadnoughts, 14 Phoenix class dreadnoughts, and twenty-one Ansel class monitors move to engage the rear attack force of the Commonwealth. Their ion cannons, battle lasers, and smaller energy weapons never let up their assault. Six of Helling's Phoenix dreadnoughts pause for a moment, carving into the Takan battleship with their main cannons, crackling green-white energy carving through space as the dreadnoughts and monitors break into smaller groups to engage the dreadnoughts.
Toward the rear of the Phoenix dreadnoughts' formation Helling's flagship releases the deadliest weapon in the Ortagan fleet, a quantum singularity warhead. The missile is a virtual miniature ship unto it self, packing its own defense shielding and the best sensor suite the Hegemony can produce. It flies toward the WIckian home fleet as the Behemoth releases a stunning array of 987 ECM missiles from its forward launch ports. The ECMs are decidedly simple, merely filling sensors with a dense blanket of overwhelming white noise and random energy pulses, but in a wave so large finesse hardly matters. And the Vortex warhead at their center need only get within 500,000 kilometers to be deadly beyond imagination.

Covington swore quietly to herself as the wedge like shield appeared protecting the warp gate. Well it seemed that this mission would be one way as she watched the newly arrived Solar Navy dreadnaughts turn and close on her ship. Her eventual fate was sealed.
“Helm go to maximum acceleration send us straight down there throats! Guns target their lead ship.” The Nova cannon spoke again as the slicer beams swung onto the lead ships of the approaching dreadnaughts “Computer initiate plan Omega-One” with that the ship committed all of its energy to engines and shields as it moved unbelievably fast into the midst of the Ortagan forces, the range before this maneuver was 150,000 km, it would have taken less then 20 seconds to close with the Ortagan ships. Closing would spell doom, but plan omega was only to be used if survival was no longer possible.
Covington sat in her chair as she stared at the view screen, certain death inevitable. At least she would take a lot of the bastards with her.
The Solar Navy units inflicted massive damage on the BB as it closed their beams carving deep gorges into its hull gutting it. The bridge of the ship was destroyed with all of those aboard with less then 10 seconds until plan omega would be completed. When the BB was a in the midst of the Ortagan taskforce it was a hulk its former beauty gone forever, most of its crew killed, only one slicer beam still lancing out at the enemy. Plasma and atmosphere spewed from the ship. The ship wouldn’t last for more then another second or two, but that was all it needed. The fold-drive activated along with the five fold shields expanding the fold envelope considerably, as the BB folded along with any of the ships caught within its field, which would be considerable as the ship was in the midst of an enemy formation. Its ultimate destination was point 0 by 0 in the Thetis system, in other words the Sun.

Hellings watches as the Takan built battleships accelerates toward the forward ranks of his assembled fleet of dreadnoughts and a scattering of Roum class war frigates. He watches as the battleship moves rapidly to close with the foremost dreadnoughts.
"Signal to the Guardian, Death's Head, Mercurius, and Jacobs to take evasive action at once. They are to stay clear of that battleship!"
As the Hegemony class dreadnoughts take evasive manuvers, three war frigates and thirteen monitors close for what they believe is the final kill. The war frigates ravage the alreadey devestated Wraith with red fire from their own battle lasers as the agile monitors dart across the surface of the larger warship and sting it with their own over-powered energy batteries.

I guess this is going back a little bit, when the rear attack force first showed up. And Khrrck, you're in the head Arbiter, so you're with the Cyberutopian taskforce where ever it goes.))
The Cyberutopia taskforce blinked back into existiance and watched sullenly as the Wickian ships were engufled in a gravimetric field. The Argus shield ships splayed out the massive arrangement of kinetic fields while the numerous assault frigates moved forward to screen the three gigantic ships behind them. Two wings of heavy destroyers manuvered with practiced grace to deal the closest dreadnoughts full broadsides of plasma.
Admiral Arakata became ridgid in his seat. "Give the order."
The three Arbiters, three kilometer long needles, began to split horizontally. Within half a minute, the ships had folded out completely, yawing like a trio of monsters before their quarry.
"Begin attack pattern COTS." The Admiral nearly whispered in the silence of the bridge.
Every shield around the Arbiters abruptly disappated. The interiors of each ship were lit afire as nine million missiles, each with an eight megaton yield, lept out with the ferocity of starved hounds for the Behemoth's rear.
A thin smile played across Arakata's lips. "Now all we can do is hope. Get us out of here."
The three ships began to slowly withdraw under the cover of the most fire their escorts could muster.
"Ok, Fido, what can you do to help us? It's a bit late for an assitance with the Behemoth, but maybe you can help the Wickians some." The Admiral, notably more relaxed now, told Fido through an audio input.
The Khrcckian AI suddenly found a number of openings so that it could express itself.

This time the Behemoth does not wait for instructions from Hellings, at long last the massive weapon turns its full brunt on an enemy that dares harass it. The massive bulk moves to turn, presenting the incoming missiles with its far thinner side profile, and then the Behemoth launches its counterattack.
Another wave of gravimetric field projectors lurches outward, as the Behemoth's portside battle-lasers and ion cannons set for mass dispersion power to eat away at the missiles. As it tries to cope with the still staggering missile hordes, two other weapons are readied.
First every missile launcher on the Behemoth belches another round of ECM missiles, numbering at over 888 screamer missiles. Behind the screamers comes the attacks true bite, 22 Bane III class clean fusion warheads purchased from Valinon, each capable of generating a 9.8-gigaton explosion.
Then come the latest addition to the Ortagan arsenal, the C-FDs (Combat-Fighter drones). Nowhere near as fearsome as their Valinor Precentor cousins, the C-FDs are controlled by political prisoners nerve stapled until they are little more than drones serving as the fighters central processing units. Hundreds upon hundreds of them are spewed forth from launch chutes near the Behemoth's core section.
Then the attack againt the Cyberutopians dissolves into glorified chaos. Over 150 ECMs, 120 C-FDs, and a few unlucky starfighters are caught in the gravimetric matrix as it deploys. But the matrix serves its purpose, catching over 3/4s of the Cyberutopian missiles in its doomed grasp. The rest move onward into the storm of dispersion fire, shrapnel warheads, and suicide C-FDs that are trying to protect the Behemoth.
Such low-grade fusion warheads would be no threat to the Behemoth individually, or even in smaller massed numbers. But as they begin their final acceleration, over 200,000 still remain. A desperate attack from monitors, C-FDs, and several nearby escorts manages to carve the number close to 100,000, but it is still not quite enough.
A sun eclipses one of the Behemoth's four jutting pylons already damaged by Wickian attack. A massive chunk vanishes, metal is turned to slag, and weapons batteries, sensors, and more turned to dust. But still the central core of the Behemoth survives. And like a wounded beast, the now enraged super-battleship turns it focus to the Cyberutopians just as the sun of Valinor built fusion warheads prepares to detonate. Energy gathers at the open port of the Behemoth's main cannon, capable of destroying entire continents. The massive surge of gold-white energy erupts toward the Cyberutopian group, and it is followed by another hail of energy fire, and an amassed fire of the relatively "dumb" Ortagan fusion warheads, numbering at some 9,000.

((I assume you're firing at the Arbiters, Ortaga, not the rest of the taskforce, as they are some distance apart.))
"Oh Dear God–" Was the last cry of desperation Arakata heard before his world was engulfed in a blistering whiteness.
One of the ships' captians had made the fatal mistake of not fully closing his Arbiter's missile bays. The brilliant energy blast pushed away the shields like wind on feathers and shot down the ship's maw, explosions shattering the interior. When Arakata's sight returned, he saw the shell of the destroyed ship floating in space, seemingly glowing white-hot. That's when he looked over the exterior of his own ship and realized it was glowing as well. The mecroxite plating of his ship had absorbed all the energy it could and preserved his life. Now he knew what he would do.
"Full speed ahead! We will follow Odysseus and drive the burning needle into the Cyclop's eye! All hands brace for impact!" The Admiral shouted, the intense heat creating patches of sweat down his rumpled uniform's chest.
The lead Arbiter brought the remaining third of it's shields to bear and charged at it's foe with grim determination, right into the oncoming missile storm. The now superenergized plating of the ship seemed to act as a protecting spirit, the blossoms of fusion energy warping away from the hull in fright of it's suicidal power and the energy bolts being absorbed into the hull with a shudder when the hull shouldn't have been able to take anymore, a phenomena that would be puzzled over for decades afterwards.
The last of the huge ships, it's skimmed hull fizzling and burning an angry crimson, turns away in an almost sad way before flaring it's engines to life and bolting for the hyperlimit of the system.
The Admiral takes on an almost insane air. "Fido, I would suggest you get off this ship...or get one of those copies ready. There's no more hope for this old maiden of mine."

Flagship of Home Fleet

Admiral Vigilance noted the launch of just under a thousand missiles from the Solar Navy's ranks. They advanced upon the WIckian fleet, represented on the Tactical display as a blurred collection on dots due to the confusion caused by the ECM missiles.
So much ECM, tactical estimated that 99% of the missiles were totally devoted to countermeasures. The Hegemon was hiding something behind that screen, of that he was certain.
"Seems like they are hiding something in that 'noise' wouldn't you say Tom?" the admiral stated to his Tactical Chief.
"I'd say that appears to be the case sir, May I suggest we clear it up a bit sir?"
"Let’s do one better, notify all Squadron Commands, send them my compliments, Weapons are free."
With that the 706 ships of the WIckian Home Fleet made the final and minute corrections in their wall of battle. It was a magnificent formation the "Wall" itself contained 80 ships, seventy dreadnaughts and ten super dreadnaughts. Over half the hulls were of pod or Vernii rail Conversions design. The 'Wall' was 16 ships long by five ships high. The thirty battleships were split in two sections each along either the ventral or dorsal sections of the "Wall". Two-thirds of the BC(p)'s were in the Van of the fleet the other third in the rear with the fleet carriers. the rest of the battle cruisers and the screening units formed an anti-missile screen around the wall in a large half-sphere expanding to outwards of a half million km from it. The fleet deployed massive amount of decoys, jammers and ship borne ECM was activated degraded the enemy’s accuracy. Then the guns of the WIckian Home Fleet answered those of the Solar Navy.
Not even the best of Wickian Sensors could display each individual missile fired instead each missile displayed represent 8 in real life. Like most initial broadsides this one was massive its numbers bolstered by towed missile pods or Vernii Rail Conversions. Over 44,344 missiles were shot at the units of the Solar Navy, 37,740 of those were aimed at the enemy dreadnaughts. The 6,604 missiles fired by the screen were aimed at the monitors.
Tens of thousands counter missiles raced towards the ECM missiles fired by the solar navy, quick suicidal missiles whose 100 km wide wedges were designed to obliterate the offending ECM missiles. Also fired was the new MIRV counter-missile, larger and slightly slower then its brethren it had a quad of nuclear missiles attached to it, when they were close enough to the target they would detach from their carrier using reaction thrusters to put 10km between each warhead before they detonated in nuclear explosions. Thousands of these were launched hoping to form a wall of hellfire that would destroy their targets. Also these were some of the “Dirtiest” warheads made the EMP effects would be considerable. All modern tech is hardened against EMP, but the detonation of thousands of these warheads would be immense. Making If enough of the ECM could be destroyed other options would become available for use.
“They’re toying with us here Tom, you see that don’t you even that missile launch is pitifully weak compared to what could be sent our way, no they see us as a second-rate power here, lets show them their mistake shall we?” Vigilance said his voice icy with hate.
One of the greatest battles to be fought in the Southern March of the Raumreich was finally joined in earnest.

Vortex class missile on final course correction with Wickian Fleet, Thetis System, Commonwealth of the WIck
2159
The target sensors on the deadly missile note the interference as they lose their targets. But the protoccols on dealing with that particular failure are brutal and straight forward, befitting the Solar Navy's military doctrine.
The Vortex missile erupts "prematurely," roughly 350,000 kilometers away from the WIckian core formation. But the maw of a simulated singularity rips into space, drawing everything nearby to its event horizon. The explosion consumes missiles, warps ships, and will continue to have its "life" for 22 seconds.
Solar Navy Fleet, Thetis System, Commonwealth of the WIck
2208
The main cannon of the Behemoth fire at the oncoming Cyberutopian ship yet again, trying to reduce it to slag before it collides with it.
But then the Behemoth and the Ortagan warships move as one. The bulk of the Behemoth imposes itself between the WIckian missile attack, turning the space in front of it into a storm of its own battle-lasers, ion cannons, and heavy ion cannons set for dispersion fire.
Meanwhile the Behemoth cuts its gravimetric engines and throws all its power into its weapons and shields. The aurora of the gravimetric shields expands three-fold to provide a more effective cover for the Navy's warships, and then the halo of protection is wreathed in flame as over 22,000 surviving missiles impact on the Behemoth's shields.
As the blast clears the Solar Navy moves to clear their stricken shield, the Behemoth itself belches another 759 ECM screamers covering another Vortex missile.

The shell burns still hotter, the amazing light beginning to wash out the backdrop of stars around it. The flare of fire is replaced by the blue-white glow of leaking plasma from the weapon caches as the three kilometer long spike finds new propulsion in the explosion, and bolts into the Behemoth's shields. The hull begins to let it's stored energy into the shields, a tiny star forming at the impact point.

Vigilance swore to himself as he saw the ships pull apart as they were draged into the event horrizon. In all seven ships were lost including two SD. It was not as bad as it could have been. Khrrck was successful in detonating the missile prematurely. In essence his Wall of battle was ‘skimmed” by the event horizons effects, still a division of SD’s lost to a single missile hurt. It seemed to be the best defense against the weapon. His ships still poured defensive fire into the second wave hoping for a hit on that damn singer, the computers and analysts had time to examine the target data and predict a 8% improvement in successful interception. He also hoped Khrrck would have better luck.
“Tom lets deploy those new toys we purchased from Taka. Also inform Admirals Strength and Defiance that they are free to engage the enemy and remind them to coordinate their missile strikes with our own.”
A dozen takian Fold shields deployed in a net 3 million km out from the wall of battle in a layered defense ready to intercept the incoming singer missile.

C.N.S Mighty
Flagship of TF Defiance
Her Command was to the port and rear of Behemoth it was also above it her ships angle downward as to pour fire down into the Solar Navies Formation. She had 4 CLAC 16 BC(p) and a 20 ship screen in her command. Their strength lied in the BC(p)’s as they had the firepower of a pod SD if not the endurance. Her command was able to fire 22400 missiles every 12 seconds 16000 of them of SD strength. Her ships target the Solar Navy units which attacked the Wraith .
C.N.S Hammer
Flagship of TF Strength
TF Strength was recalled from their battle with the Myrmidons, he had an lance of SD(P) that contributed 8000 missiles per broadside to the attacks of TF Defiance. His TF was underneath that TF . His true strength was in his six CLACs combined with TF Defiance’s CLACS a thousand LACs hurtled towards the Solar Navy’s units, unleashing there small missiles in quick session, they were not alone. The Commonwealth Navy knew their enemy was coming and thusly had time to deploy their planet based LACs with Strength’s LAC’s two million km from either side of his LAC’s were 2500 planetary based LAC’s that contributed to the missile broadsides. The LAC’s altogether launched 6000missiles every 5 seconds for 6 broadsides at the Solar Navy units.
The LACs of Home Fleet were still unaccounted for. Home Fleet could now only throw broadsides roughly fifty percent the size of its initial launch, they were timed to detonate at the same time as Defiance’s BC(p)’s.

((Yeah, thanks Khrrck.))
Arakata barely had time to look over at the monitor next to him. A smile crept across his face.
"Good luck, Fido. You will be remembered." He murmured.
