R&D Thread: Naked Singularity Generator/ Portal to inter-brane space
The Mentholyptan Department of High-Energy Research and Extra-Dimensional Physics has, at long last, completed a prototype model of the Advanced Inter-Dimensional Transfer Device, nicknamed the “Gateway.” The idea for the Gateway came 16 years ago, when physicist Alan Hartman of the University of Mentholyptus observed tiny singularities formed during a laser misalignment at a fusion power plant. Instead of following the contours of the reaction chamber, the 10 gigawatt lasers had intersected, briefly punching a small hole in the 4-dimensional world we live in. Dr. Hartman made it his life’s work to extend this discovery to a higher level. Several years and almost 400 billion Hot Dogs of funding later, his work is complete. The Gateway functions by focusing 64 massively powerful (several terawatt) lasers on an intersection target approximately 6 cubic nanometers in size. This tremendous amount of energy tears through our 4-dimensional brane (a sheet of paper is a 2-dimensional brane, the universe without time is a 3-D brane), creating a point of access to inter-dimensional space, from which access can be had to any point in space, time, or the other 7 dimensions. The energy cost of the prototype is immense; it has 2 dedicated fusion reactors, and consumes fully 96% of their output during operation. The size of the portal, though it appears in an area of space only a few meters wide, is theoretically infinite, as it exists in all 11 dimensions. The Department of High-Energy Research and Extra-Dimensional Physics hopes to send a probe through into inter-dimensional space (also called mu-space) within the week, and construct a second AIDTD within the next month. The second device would be moved into hyperspace, at HyperStation Alpha, from where it could create a portal anywhere in realspace (or time). The potential applications for the AIDTD are obviously myriad, and are being investigated at this time.
