Going once! Going twice!

Melkor Unchained

Allanean President Alexander Kazansky is led towards a large prison compound by Imperial Marshal Khaled Sudani and a contingent of Blackjacket infantrymen. His hands were bound behind his back with a large metal sheath, binding each wrist to the opposite elbow. It was heavy; heavy enough to throw off your balance and stumble if you didn't walk a certain way.

Kazansky smiles at the Marshal Sudani. 'Untie me. If I tried to run away, your people would stop me anyway, and if you are afraid of me injuring someone, I could do it with or without the use of my hands.'this here is just pointless'

Sudani grins as he slaps Alex on the back of the neck playfully, but perhaps a little too hard. He laughs heartily. "But where's the fun in that, eh? Don't worry about those shackles, just worry about getting up to that compound there." He nods to another guard, who prods Alex between the shoulders with a truncheon, forcing him forward. "Come on, we haven't got all day."

Kazansky smiles: 'You forget something, don't you?'he says with a confident smirk. "You must think of where you are taking me to. My mentor - blessed be He - does not want me punished unjustly. And surely it cannot be his will to torture me pointlessly for what essentialy is a minor guilt - for wanting to serve his glory abroad. Do you believe, in full truth, that my mentor will like what you are doing right now? Or do you think a word of a Disciple of Melkor is not good enough for you that you must shackle me like the lowest of His slaves?"

The marshal laughs, and so do his men. "His ways are for us to enforce and for you to ponder. Do not suppose that you know anything about this place. You know nothing." He hiked his chin as the man behind him pressed the truncheon against Kazansky's spine.

The Allanean still smiles, looking at the guards with contempt as he walks on. Sudani leads them into a large building, with enormous gates that are hauled open by a dozen men as they approach. They plod in silence toward a checkpoint, as the men sitting around it slowly rise from their seats. One of them, clad in crimson, approached them, shouldering his gun with a quick salute to the Marshal. "Welcome to Belegand, my Lord. He nodded to Kazansky as the other men found their spots behind several consoles. Kazansky was prodded towards a large scanner by the man behind him. The truncheon was lifted to the base of his skull. Kazansky could sense the faint tingle of elecricity. "In."

"No need. I am armed," announced Kazansky apprehensively.

Sudani takes off his gloves and takes the Warden aside, conversing with him quickly in the Haradrim tounge. He peers over to Kazansky as he speaks. "Where and what?"

"I have no access to the weapons, but I am armed," came the reply. "I am wearing two Desert Eagle pistols in shoulder holsters, concealed under my jacket, a Glock-19 in my left boot, a knife in my rightt boot, a knife an a .44 S&W airlite in IWB holsters and a Kel-Tec P32 in my jacket pocket He shook his head. "A stupid question to ask an Allanean. We always go armed."

Quickly, methodically, the guards go about releiving Kazansky of his weapons. One of them hefts an enormous fist across Kazansky's face as another's kinfe travels the seam of the man's jacket, tearing off all of it save for what's under his enormous irons.. "He asked what you had, not if you had, you silly bastard." He levelled a finger at Kazansky. "You'd best watch that mouth of yours in here, too."

Sudani snickers as Kazansky is releived of his weapons, and his jacket. He was prodded again towards the scanner. Several more guards stood on the other side.

Alexander walks through the scanner in complete silence, and the Warden walks around the checkpoint and draws a gun, levelling it close to Kazansky's head. Several others follow suit as one of the men slowly removes the device binding his hands together. A new set of shackles is readied. "Don't move," commands the man. He smiles. "Don't worry, you won't be here too terribly long," he says after a time. "But I'll see to it that the quality of the experience can make up for the brevity." His men snickered.

Kazansky looks at the guard and says, "Ah, a Chronos Mk. IV. Really a poor choice. Useless, actually. Poor taste, too. This is a gun for an immature youth gang member, not a warrior.'

The Warden nods hastily to the guard in question, who instantly turns his gaze to his commander. He drops his aim sliglty, firing a shot into Kazansky's shoulder. The bullet sails through the other side of Kazansky's shoulder and buries itself in the wall, smoke issuing from the crack. The man scowled as Kazansky's hands and ankles were bound by a loose but still resrictive chain. "Seems good to me," he says with a laugh.

Kazansky drops on one knee, struggles back to a standing position. "What the hell is this with people shooting at my shoulders today? Good thing I heal that fast.", he says, struggling against the pain, adding mentally, 'I don't understand *why* that is happening, though.'

The Warden nods once more to the Marshal and his men, and the black-and-gray clad men of the Prison Guard escorted Kazansky to his cell. Sudani turned and left quickly-- he had a statement to make.

To Whom it may concern

The Imperial Dominion has in detention an idividual who may or may not be wanted by one or more countries for war crimes or capital crimes of some sort. Frankly, we're not too concerned with his charges exactly: anyone who wants him can have him. For a price.

Money is not to be the only concern here, but it's a good start. The Imperium will entertain bids for Mr. Kazansky for a short while. Contact me with any offers.

Kazansky surveys the room. It is a metal cube, no windows. The only thing in the room is a slab of metal - a bed - and a single blanket, no sheets.

Even though it's cold, he decides to lie on the blanket. "Better than lying on a cold slab of steel, that."

"I wish to restart negotiations for President Kazansky. During the war, our two nations had been prepared to come to an agreement over the fate of Kazansky before he disappeared. At this point, the war has ended and it would be looked on quite poorly if we were to hold a foreign head-of-state captive. However, if we are able to keep these negotiations secret, we would like to offer thirty million dollars to your nation. We would also be willing to construct an embassy in Arda, which may or may not be of some value to you. We are aware that besides monetary value, there is little that we can offer to a group such as Arda, but we are open to suggestions. We would also be willing to quickly come to an agreement regarding this and are not interested in participating in an auction. If a deal can be reached quickly, we would be most appreciative."

OOC: King=Elected, Easily Recallable President-for-life unless recalled.

IC: King Boostei sat at his desk reading the reports. "Let's see... spies in Melkor report Kazansky taken to an unknown location..." "Sources indicated Lord Melkor was Kazansky's mentor..."

Suddenly, a new report popped up on the screen. "Melkor selling Kazansky to the highest bidder... the nation of The Ctan has placed a bid, and... EDOLIA... my God, that's unexpected. Well, those are DOECO (OOC: Our intel service) reports for you."

He thought for a moment.

"Call the Council into closed door session. (OOC: We do direct democracy a lot, but for day to day matters and things that involve classified material, we have a parliment, called the Feline Council.) Tell them that the Boostei administration requests funding in the amount of, at the moment, $30,000,000.01 to purchase Kazansky through secret channels in order to better relations with Allanea. Also, contact D47 and the Intel council members, and tell them to prepare a debriefing of Kazansky if we do get him. (OOC: A secret intel-like agency dedicated to paranormal and occult research, known only to the Council's intel commitee, some people in the executive branch, etc.)

---------

The council approved the request, and the message was sent out to Lord Melkor:

The Democratic Arcologies of Feline wishes to purchase Kazansky, and are willing to offer one cent above the nation of Edolia's request. Don't worry... it's spies in them, not in you.

Boostei laughed... actually, it was spies in both.

(OOC: Don't worry, I won't bring these spies up again... they're just a plot device here.)

RE: Custody rights for Alexander Kazanksy

Most of you are completely ignoring the requisites for an acceptable trade. Trade concessions, technology access, or any one of many other things can and should be offered up in addition to some cash. Some of the figures I've seen for this man are, quite frankly, absurd beyond all beleif and to be honest, I don't trust them to come up with the money. Therefore, I suggest some serious bid revisions.

If I get back to my desk tomorrow and see a thousand more sheets of paper with nothing more than a nunber on them, there will be hell to pay. And you can knock it off with that one cent shit while you're at it--a higher amount does not guarantee a winning bid.

Mr. Morden was still sitting in his office, sipping his tea. It was late, and he had quite literally nothing to do.

Well, until the call came.

"An Allanean on line three, conventional communications."

"Allanean?" He pondered. Odd... "Put him through."

Pavel Nikolsky 's old, wizened face appeared on the screen. "Good day, Sir. I need to appeal to you for help. You see, I have been Alex' assistant since he was 18 and I was 30."

Mr. Morden listens, kinda intrigued. The last contact with the Allaneans was... ages ago. Though mentioning the name of their kidnapped leader in this way is kinda... odd. He does, of course, know about the recent troubles Allanea has had with the butchers from UnAPS as well as Melkor quite literally *selling* their president, and is quite intrigued by the question: What do they want?

Pavel continues. "I am 80 now, and I am much more of a mentor to Alex than he would admit - or that monster that rules the Imperium could ever be. I love the boy - and I know him better than he knows himself."

Mr. Morden looks slightly annoyed. "Ok... This is very nice of you... Now... why does this include us?"

Pavel pauses, and then gasps: "Is this channel well-encrypted?"

Mr. Morden nods without even checking. "EVERYTHING we have is well- encrypted."

"Good. You see, Alex is not exactly human. Back in the early days of Allanea, I was with him in a bunker when The Sean Empire detonated on the ground. We had 82 people in the bunker. 80 protective suits. Alex gave his suit to one of the men. When the bomb exploded, he and another man who wasn't wearing a suit received an extremely large dose of radiation. It pegged the geigers. The other man died within several hours. Alex didn't even get a cold. "This is why he went to see Morgoth - to find out who and what he is. You give him the answer, and he'll follow you to the Gates of Hell, and bring an infantry division along."

Hesitation.

"Mr. Morden, you save my boy, and I'll do all I can to manoever Allanea into a friendly relation with Der Angst."

Mr. Morden blinks, for a moment, recalling several incidents, DLing some relevant data into the more... sophisticated parts of his brain. "Well... What would we have to do? Hostilities with the Imperium are not what we intend to have, right now. Especially since our terms are actually better, now..." The data arrives, he recalls actually being involved in the conflict (and the subsequent nuking) that happened. "In any case... to... to help him, what are we supposed to do?" His brain begins to work. Some sort of superhuman? Desty would probably be interested...

"That foul creature in the Imperium is selling Alex off. Several allies are pooling their resources to buy him out. It would be great if you contributed to the pool."

Mr. Morden ponders, checking the data. Having mocked the other bidding nations helps, the info is right there. "Actually... i don`t think that bidding with them is an option, especially since Morgoth seems to think... Not too well of their bid. However..." He doesn´t continue. No, he wont say what he thinks...

"Are you sure it's not the UNAPS bid they are mocking?"

Mr. Morden chuckles. "Perhaps. Well, we will see. Unfortunately, right now, I cannot see a need to act... For us. If the current bidding pool succeeds, congratulations. But we're not overly interested in the whole matter, and wont get involved. Over and out." He smiles when closing the connection. What follows is a simple call to Desty Nova from the MSC, and moments later, the decision has been made.

A bit later

When the message arrived in the Imperium, for Maria Romanov to check, she was more than slightly surprised. Why the hell are they interested in him? Bleh. Anyway... Looks ok, yes.

With a sigh Allaneans... Why the hell do we care about them? she took the message, and made sure it would arrive where it was supposed to arrive. Though she doubted its success, it being not too... well, valuable.

Subject: Bidding for Alexander Kazansky

"After much consideration, we decided that Mr. Kazansky is indeed worth a bid. A serious bid, that is. However, since the... monetary bids of various other candidates are far beyond our own capabilities, we are forced to use other means.

We think that it is rather obvious that our capabilities regarding this other means are kinda... narrowed down, due to unfortunate alliance entanglements, however, we hope that the following offers are satisfying.

1. Since you are doubtlessly informed about our alliance entanglements with some of your... enemies, a (secret) non- aggression agreement of sorts, to fasten our so far fairly profitable economic ties, and, as you can guess, as some sort of... guarantee, for you.

2. Intelligence sharing. We have noticed the (surprising) rise of nations and/ or organisations threatening... Well, us as well as you (Though we will freely admit that we have nowhere your capabilities) and we would consider this option of working together to be quite... useful, though we're quite aware of your (surely significant) security concerns.

3. This is merely a possibility, and we cannot guarantee the possibility of going through with this, but we could possibly offer you to use our own space assets in sol for your ships (maintenance and so on) for five (perhaps ten) years, provided that it would never be more than six of your ships at a facility (And we would reserve the right of closing certain facilities for foreigners, should the need arise). And, of course, you would need to pay just like everyone else. However, we are quite aware of Metus' capabilities in this sector, and doubt that this option would be of much use for you, even if we're able to go through with it.

However, the reason for us to take part in the... bid is rather... odd, since we were informed about certain... capabilities of this Alexander Kazansky, thusly, we would need one particular favour: We need to ensure that the object would be safe, for us, possibly in coma, so make it... easier to handle. We would leave the details for you, the organisation of the transport would be done by our liaisons.

Sincerely,

Mr. Morden & Maria Romanov

PS: We would prefer it if this message stays secret, we are in no need for additional people listening...

[ooc: First part RPed with Allanea to get me the (very, very secret)) information that Alex is a Maiar. Or rather, that he is 'special', or even more to the point, that he may be special. Edits possible, in the case that Allanea objects a few parts (DCC sucks, as usual).]

((Ok, you see, people, what a lot of you don't seem to understand is the concept of inflation. If you have 15 trillion dollars just sitting around accruing interest, then the value of your dollar must be hovering somewhere just below the value of vacuum.
OOC: Actually, the opposite is true. By hoarding all that money, the amount of funds actually in circulation drops, which means that the value of an individual dollar drastically increases.

Secondly, if you did put 15 million dollars into Melkor's treasury, then it would ruing HIS economy too, as suddenly people are using dollars to wipe themselves.
OOC: True.

Back in the early days of Allanea, I was with him in a bunker when The Sean Empire detonated on the ground.

OOC:

Yay, I was mentioned. :D

OOC:

I wanted to see what was happening just for sheer morbid reasons and I see nothing has changed.

IC:

I offer Melkor not a damn dollar but this:

A trade accord that will mutual benefit the peoples of both nations and a treaty to last for the period of 100 years as to neither nation or affiliate in any alliances shall produce or impliment any hostile action toward the other. A port of call shall be offered to both sides for the purpose of establishing dilpomatic relations and improvement of such.

The wall that have divided the two nations shall become smaller shall a treaty be implemented and utilized between the nation of melkor and the nation of phyrric. Shall this be in agreement, it will be retroactive to the date of offer.

Let the diplomats hammer out the details in a session prescribed by mutual interest.

[Actually, it's a strategic defense monetary reserve. It's save for times when the military does not have the budget to buy must-have equipment or during wartime. This is a special case, Kazansky's mere existance is a threat to the Imperium. However, my need to eliminate him has vanished.]

The Imperium would like to pull out of this bid, Kazansky no longer poses any serious threat to us.

[EDIT: I think Melkor and I posted at the same time. My withdrawal has nothing to do with a lack of funds and everything to do with a statement Edolia made on the UnAPS boards. That is all.]

The People's republic of Corrheia would exchange 25,000 prisoners from our rehabilitation facilities - enemies of the People as they are - for Kazansky. The capitalist scumbag could prove a wonderful asset should Allanea invade us.

[OC: this thread will resolve soon, after I get a chance to talk to two or three people. I lost my job on Monday, thus I will be shutting off my internet connection in two days if I don't get work. I'll be on IRC until then. Unless I'm working. ]
