High-Bishop Writes Letter to Holy Vatican See

Dear Bishop of Rome,

We people here in the Confederate Church of Fluffywuffy have long sought after our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as do all Christians, and the Roman Catholic Church is no exception to this; in fact, our doctrines are so similar that it is no wonder that I write to you with a single, yet monumental, request. But before I make this request, allow me to outline briefly the schism that was brought upon us many years ago.

Around the year 1500, our Emperor Mercia Stewart, with his policies of extreme nationalism, came to the Bishop of Rome and declared that he would sieze any and all churches within our nation, and he did so, forcing all churches to convert to denounce the Papacy and accept his own son-Bishop Mercutio Stewart-as High-Bishop in stead of the Papacy. This was brought about as a political statement, yet the Papacy never gave in to the Emperor's demands of denouncing various contendors to the thrown. This tragic policy has continued, more of tradition than anything else.

With the calapse of the Empire, around five years ago, a new beacon of hope shown on our schism: democracy. With the right to choose and express thier opinion on the Church-the name changed to reflect the democracy-it was soon seen that the people, and many of my bishops and priests wanted to rejoin the Roman Catholic Church. After a long debate with many of the high ranking Confederate Church officials, I decided that I was not the rightful succesor to Peter and therefore my role as High-Bishop could not be fulfilled. The congregation wholeheatedly agreed to this, as did all of my bishops and priests.

Therefore, having made up my mind, I endeavored to write this letter to you, the man whom I feel is rightfully the succesor of Peter, and make a single request of you: to accept the Confederate Church into the Roman Catholic Church. As members of your Church, I feel we will better serve our Lord Jesus Christ, may he be praised, and I hope that you can reply promptly.

Peace,
Tiberius III
High-Bishop
Confederate Church

P.S. Enclosed in this envelop you will find the Ring of the Imperial Church, the symbol of the High-Bishop, and the Cross of the Emperor, the necklace worn by all our High-Bishops. I pray that you accept these gifts kindly.
