Any High Tech or High Magic nations out there?

More specifically, any nations that don't immediatly dissallow interaction with a nation that is both High tech and High Magic?

Please respond, I'd like to know who my prospective customers might be...

*waves hand* When I play WH40K-style, that is. I am flexible otherwise, though.

EDIT: Spelling.

Although I've never been attacked by a rampaging space-troll shooting fireballs, I suppose if I ever came up against a Future-Magic nation I would be willing to RP with it. Of course, you would have to have some drawbacks to the magic, just so it isn't godmodding.

ICly, your traders (which, judging by your name I assume your nation is made of them) would face some opposition from the general Skeelzanian populace. They aren't the smartest bunch in the galaxy, and tend to take the whole "its a witch, burn her!" attitude towards magic, or anything else they can't easily explain.

Ah... excellent to hear it. It's good to know that I'm not alone out there. And to be acknowledged by two such ancient and powerful nations... It pleases us greatly.

-To Super American VX Man-
We aren't precisely WH40K style, although it is similar. Think along the lines of Magic and Science in combination, rather than simply alongside one another. That being said, I look forward to trading with you.

-To Skeelzania-
(laughs) That Space Troll scenario is fairly unlikely, I assure you. Yes, there are drawbacks, namely that energy flow remains a constant concern whether the mechanism is magical or not. Power has to come from somewhere. And finally... Well, what if the products don't look magical? If we started selling you holo-illusory display screens and Les-Ryo Short Range Jump Systems, we wouldn't be marking them with mystic runes and such, y'know.

Excellent.

Yes, there don't seem to be many nations that do this.

I am another nation who is attempting this. It is funny that people will use ship from Bab 5 but ignore the Technomancers that play a role in the story..... talk about selective!

our tec level has always been out of proportion to what the game seems to think is possible or likely. likewise we have magic of certain sorts. the thing is though we use both to live closer to nature and more harmoniously and sustainably intigrated with it and not to engauge in hostile activeity either internaly or externaly. what we don't have is oil, money or interest in combat.

we're really a LOT more interested in sustainablity and creative expression. if that offends anyone we appologise.

our magic is more like psionics. though some of it is also like tecnology.

i doubt this helps but i like to play that way.

Balrogga- (Shrugs) To each their own, I suppose. I personally prefer the odd and useful way the two can synergize, but obviously many others want to keep their games either strictly SF or strictly fantastical. Oh well, their loss, eh?

Callisdrun- Really? Good for them. I think Kalraa would like to establish trading relations with them...

Calremnaria- Why would it offend me? I use a more scientific magic system, one that follows mathematical laws, but nobody else has to. And I may use my magic for more... um, practical purposes, but you don't have to that either. And BAH to what the game says or doesn't.

I am using magic to augment my tech, or is it the other way around?

I have air elementals maintaining the atmosphere in my orbital cities and other large stations. I use pinhole gatewats to the elemental planes to get ait, water, heat, ect... I am using earth elementals to mine the asteroids for me.

Ashkeloh IX is high magick, although you won't know it until you -really- piss it off. Weyr will become high magick by the end of 2004. Weyr is slightly less powerful. Neither really gives a damn as to what everyone else think.

All magick follows the laws of thermodynamics and standasrd chemistry to the utmost possibvle extent.
