After the recent "Abortion 'Rights'" law was passed by the UN, The Holy See ofCatholicism has decided to leave the UN. As much as we dislike doing this, we must after this monstrosity became law. The Pope implores Catholics to introduce Pro-life legislation and/or leave the UN.
well technically, they can't force you to enact a law against your will, the RL UN can only make guidelines and suggestions to i suppose that this UN shouldn't any different, just ignore the "law" and get over it

Haven't you received telegrams from the "Compliance Ministry"? they say something like "______ law was passed ___ votes to ___ votes. Law will be enacted overnight" or close to that. Anyway, this law is wrong and we will not let it stand.
yes, but what i'm saying is, they cannot force you to pass a law you don't want to pass,
This isn't the RL UN. They can and do pass laws that affect your state internally.
Leave it, I say. Membership in the UN is the destruction of national sovereignty.

I believe if the Anti Nucluear resoulution passes, I will have to consider Jono's position in the UN.

This raises an interesting question : how VALID is the UN in this game?
With all sorts of laws which could be passed, and you being forced
to comply.
Your nation could have its own core beliefs (of course, shaped by
the creator thereof).
Yet you could take a vacation from the game for a while and, when
you return, find to your shock and horror that your nation is a totally
different shape, because of this compliance ministry.
So...are YOU in charge of your own governance...or is the UN?

The UN. While you as the states creator wield formidable power within your borders, ultimately your wishes are subserviant to those of the UN. They can overrule you, and therefore are a higher authority then you.
