Deep within the confines of Lo-Tech Industries classified research center in the Supal Mountain range lies the beginning of Lorkhan's greatest achivement in research and development. For years Proffesor Wulf Reeve had been studying an advanced serum to enhance the ability of Lorkhan's troops. Countless lives had been lost to the operation codenamed Project: Black Sword, but it was all for the advancement of science and Lorkhan's security. A joint venture between the top brass of Lo-Tech and the Ministry of Defense. The operation was so classified that Lord Kain himself was not aware of it's existence.

Colonel Wraith had been one of Lorkhan's best agents. He had served for years in the elite Red Hand division, and had even helped to assasinate the despot that had once ruled the land. Now he was subjecting himself to the program. He had nothing left. His wife was dead and he was without children. Now he would serve to become an ultimate weapon for his nation.

"The first stages are going to be very painful Wraith, but afterwards you will not experiance any pain due to the surge of energy we will be pumping into your body. This is good considering the later stages will be far more horrific had you any feeling."

Some men considered Reeve to be a sadistic when it came to science, but as far as he was concerned there was no evil in his employment. Everything was for the sake of progress, and there was no sacrifice that was too great for the future.

"I do not want to lose this one Reeve. Wraith will be a great asset to the cause. No more mistakes."

Grand General Kekfa had long been ploting to over-throw the current establishment. It was a cause he shared with Reeve and Reeve only. It wasn't that he trusted Reeve, no in fact far from it. Reeve would sell out Kefka as soon as possible, but Reeve needed Kefka just as much as Kefka needed Reeve. They both knew this. Colonel Wraith as a subject was only one example of the bond.

"Begin preperations!" Reeve announced to his science team.

The scientist began flipping switches that pumped a strange green glowing serum into Wraith's veins. He began shaking erradicly, a good sign so far. Reeve watched on as the needles and tubes pumped his special brew into Wraith's system. He glanced down at the meters below and grinned. Things were working perfect and they were already into stage two of the program. Wraith's eyes began to glow crimson with energy, a sign of the project's effects. Success would be the aftermath of this day. Reeve knew it, and his expression showed.

"After all these years, after all this time. Success is finally ours!" Reeve clapped his hands together as he motioned for the science team to end the operation.

"When will we be able to begin testing?" Kefka asked as he looked down at the subject below. "I am quite interested to see first hand how much this has changed one of my best soldiers."

"We will analyze him for a few days to make sure Subject Wraith is safe from any side-effects. Give us a week and we may begin testing. Now what about our second subject?"

"The Akarthian?" Kefka grinned at the thought. The Akarthian's had become terrorists since they were overthrown. Their war-leader was Chief Otep. During a raid he had been left for dead, but Kefka had him picked up and sent here for testing. Now the warrior would belong to them. "He will be ready soon. Give us a year Reeve. One year and Lorkhan will belong to us."

Kefka turned toward the exit and left the scientist and his team to attend to the colonel below.

Reeve looked on at his creation like a father would his own son. Wraith had been the first successful subject in Project Black Sword out of three hundred men and women sacrificed to the project. His endurance levels and strength was simply astonishing. His status and practice during testing sessions had more than been satisfactory. At long last Lorkhan would move to the forefront of military power with Wraith being the spear head of it all. Reeve could only imagine all the money his corporation would take in by selling this serum on the market or employing the use of a task force of these super soldiers to foreign nations.

"It's been a week and I still have no results on Wraith's progress."

Reeve's train of thought was interuppted by the large man dressed in red behind him who somehow managed to sneak in without alarming Reeve. Grand General Kefka, the surpreme commander of Lorkhan Republican Forces had taken the time out of his operations against House Akarthia to oversee one of his finest soldiers. If the project was a failure he'd make sure to deny the use of his soldiers for the program. It was only another reason why Reeve had to make certain that this subject would work, and so far it had.

"Readings are excellent. His testing during simulation has proved dramatic increases in speed, strength, endurance, and even restoration. Of course there are draw backs, ecspecially concerning his life rate, but it is something that can easily be overlooked with cloning."

"Very well" Kekfa said as he nodded his head in approval.

"Prepare Otep for transfiguration. You do not need to be as careful with this one, but it would be a shame to lose such a fine warrior...even if he is one with the enemey."

"Very well. We will begin the process tommorow."

From: Wulf Reeve, President and CEO of Lo-Tech Industries

Project Black Sword has proven a complete success in the past weeks. As you have seen Colonel Wraith has become the epitome of our super soldier program, proving great advancements in endurance, strength, and leadership.

Our most recent subject, the Akarthian Otep has gone through complete transformation and has brought in first test results. He has been labeled "The Walking Tank" due to the dramatic increase in his strength. In the field of battle I suggest he serve a support/gunner role. We has already proven to easily handle a "mini-gun" and rocket proponents where even the strongest of standerd humans have had trouble. More tests shall be in within the week.

With our current progress I forsee a super soldier team in the near future. We ask for another member, perhaps to fill in a stealth role.[/code:1:eb6c7d5991]

Kefka sat back in his chair and grinned, his sinister smile streching from ear to ear as he erased the message to make sure that no one else would stumble upon it.

"Sgt. Kumavec..." Kefka spoke into his private intercom, alerting his securitery "Bring me Agent Venom. My trusty assassin has a...oh how should I put it...a new purpose."

Kefka sat back in his seat and awaited the arrival of his personal killer.

Kefka and Reeve looked on at their children of destruction. The trio had all been bred for one single purpose. To be complete killing machines. All of them had extensive training and experiance before submitting to the program, and now their abilities had been increased ten-fold.

Colonel Wraith...he would be the field leader of this elite group of soldiers. He was the first of the successful children of the Black Sword project, and he reaped the most rewards from the serum that had been injected into his system. He had served as a soldier for Kefka for years, and as a friend even longer. No one in this group was more fit for the role, not even the soldier standing to his right...

Warlord Otep; Most of his past was an enigma, but was known was that he was a killing machine feared by both his own men and his enemies. He had long served under house Akarthia, but his ties to the lordship were not necissery deep considering he was not a noble, and he had secretly plotted two assassinations. How Reeve and his doctors had gotten Otep to join these ranks, Kefka did not know, nor did he care to figure out. What mattered was that standing before him was a walking battle tank, more than willing to tear through any one he had been set loose upon.

And then there was Agent Venom, the daughter of Kefka. Since her birth, she was taught how to kill. She was a perfect assassin and spy, utilizing stealth and beauty to complete her tasks. Before being subjected to Project Black Sword, she was an excellent killer. Now she was a perfect one.

"Shall we prepare them for the coming war with Aust?" Reeve asked his partner as he overlooked his dormant creations.

"No. Not yet. We've run several tests, but we've never actually seen how they've operated together as a unit. Before I send them over-seas we're going to do a few test runs."

"What do you propose?" Reeve asked, eagerly awaiting the sinister plot he had known Kefka was about to unravel.

"Governor Malokori will be coming in from his station in the northern province of Aden this week. He has been a firm supporter of this talk first, shoot later nonsens ever since Kain put him into office. Kain is starting to favor him a bit too much..."

"Do I sense fear of being replaced Kekfa?" Reeve asked with a slight chuckle.

"If you had been anyone else I'd kill you where you stood Reeve!" Kefka shouted as he slammed his fist into the corporate money sucking scientist's nose.

The doctor wiped the small trickle of blood from his nose and rose back to his feet.

"So we're going to assassinate him then?"

"Yes." Kefka said as he paced back and forth observing his perfect soldiers. "We're going to kill him."
