Lorkhan

Deep within the confines of Lo-Tech Industries classified research center in the Supal Mountain range lies the beginning of Lorkhan's greatest achivement in research and development. For years Proffesor Wulf Reeve had been studying an advanced serum to enhance the ability of Lorkhan's troops. Countless lives had been lost to the operation codenamed Project: Black Sword, but it was all for the advancement of science and Lorkhan's security. A joint venture between the top brass of Lo-Tech and the Ministry of Defense. The operation was so classified that Lord Kain himself was not aware of it's existence.
Colonel Wraith had been one of Lorkhan's best agents. He had served for years in the elite Red Hand division, and had even helped to assasinate the despot that had once ruled the land. Now he was subjecting himself to the program. He had nothing left. His wife was dead and he was without children. Now he would serve to become an ultimate weapon for his nation.
"The first stages are going to be very painful Wraith, but afterwards you will not experiance any pain due to the surge of energy we will be pumping into your body. This is good considering the later stages will be far more horrific had you any feeling."
Some men considered Reeve to be a sadistic when it came to science, but as far as he was concerned there was no evil in his employment. Everything was for the sake of progress, and there was no sacrifice that was too great for the future.
"I do not want to lose this one Reeve. Wraith will be a great asset to the cause. No more mistakes."
Grand General Kekfa had long been ploting to over-throw the current establishment. It was a cause he shared with Reeve and Reeve only. It wasn't that he trusted Reeve, no in fact far from it. Reeve would sell out Kefka as soon as possible, but Reeve needed Kefka just as much as Kefka needed Reeve. They both knew this. Colonel Wraith as a subject was only one example of the bond.
"Begin preperations!" Reeve announced to his science team.
The scientist began flipping switches that pumped a strange green glowing serum into Wraith's veins. He began shaking erradicly, a good sign so far. Reeve watched on as the needles and tubes pumped his special brew into Wraith's system. He glanced down at the meters below and grinned. Things were working perfect and they were already into stage two of the program. Wraith's eyes began to glow crimson with energy, a sign of the project's effects. Success would be the aftermath of this day. Reeve knew it, and his expression showed.
"After all these years, after all this time. Success is finally ours!" Reeve clapped his hands together as he motioned for the science team to end the operation.
"When will we be able to begin testing?" Kefka asked as he looked down at the subject below. "I am quite interested to see first hand how much this has changed one of my best soldiers."
"We will analyze him for a few days to make sure Subject Wraith is safe from any side-effects. Give us a week and we may begin testing. Now what about our second subject?"
"The Akarthian?" Kefka grinned at the thought. The Akarthian's had become terrorists since they were overthrown. Their war-leader was Chief Otep. During a raid he had been left for dead, but Kefka had him picked up and sent here for testing. Now the warrior would belong to them. "He will be ready soon. Give us a year Reeve. One year and Lorkhan will belong to us."
Kefka turned toward the exit and left the scientist and his team to attend to the colonel below.
