Zeronia

This evening, the first Zeronians successfully walked on the moon. Zeronaut Pueblo del Marcos popped open the lander hatch and yelled to the nearly 3 billion Zeronians over 380 thousand kilemetres below, "The view is beautiful, Zeronia!" He then glided down the rails and bounced on the moon's surface. "This is for the People's Republic and all of humanity."
Pueblo's partner in the moon mission, Julia Harlong, followed behind him and started dancing in front of the exterier lunar camera. The fun and games soon ended. The purpose of the mission was to not only successfully land Zeronians on the moon and have them returned safely. Both zeronauts took rock and soil samples for further scientific study on Earth. The crew of two stayed a whole four hours on the surface collecting samples, while engaging in dialogue for the people watching below. When they completed their collection and analyses, Julia and Pueblo placed a plaque on the surface of the moon, displaying the Zeronian flag and an etched message of peace. Public communication was cut off after the launch back to Earth. An estimated 2.5 billion Zeronians, plus an unknown number of foreigners watched the historic event.
The moon mission is the first space mission in over a year, but has been in the planning stages since the Zeronian space program's inception. The 12-day mission started a few days ago when a ZMR-4 rocket (based on an old experimental ICBM design) launched the module and lander into orbit. Ground-based telemetry pointed the module and lander towards the moon, and the crew took control from there. Both the lander and the module made it successfully to the moon surface. When the zeronauts approach for re-entry, both will move into the module, which can withstand extremely high temperatures and high impacts. The lander may or may not survive re-entry.
The crew is expected to have a very warm welcome when they arrive back on solid ground in a few days.
(ooc: for the mission, I are assumed the moon was not colonized :) , though I'm sure there are many claims to lunar territory :x )
