International Miniature Golf League Idea

The Wesperosphere

The Wesperosphere's Chief Minister, Gavin Rhys, has a proposal for an international miniature golf league.

Miniature golf is the Minister's favorite sport in the world. I would know. I got my job because he murdered his first Secondary Minister for beating him at a game of it. Aside from the American sport baseball, miniature golf is the only sport allowed in the Wesperosphere. A national league has been in existence for five years. Minister Rhys is looking to upgrade the competition.

Its format would be quite similar to the world Olympics. The best players from each nation would form the team for their nation, and compete in an as yet undecided amount of rounds. The national team who has the highest (or, er, lowest) score at the end of the rounds would be the world miniature golf champion. This would require a decent amount of funding, but the Minister is willing to fund the first competition himself, should enough nations be interested. If the first competition is a success, we will assess the situation and decide whether to move on and continue with it annually.

Need I state the tourist benefits this would bring to many nations who could be potential hosts of the competition. An international miniature golf competition? People would be very eager to witness such a thing first hand, if only because of the morbid curiosity.

The Minister realizes that not many nations may have their own miniature golf league, and this may hinder the chances of this becoming a realized dream. In that case, the Minister was wondering if any national leaders would like to have a game with him. Any takers? I'll make sure he is unarmed at gametime.
