Yes, its electiontime

This is probably the first time i do this, mostly because the empire is ruled by an emperor, partially because i didnt want to be an extremist(dont take that to literally, just wanted to be centrist). You will be voting for parties, the winning parties will then form a government and try to get their proposals through.

The government can only be formed by a party that represents a majority or a coallition of parties if necessary. Offcourse a coallition has weaknesses, the ruling parties have to agree when they try to solve an issue. And this might end in an endless debate, or worse: the government falls, and without a new coallition formed the emperor will have to issue new elections(i'm not going to do this every 5 days(that would result in a revolution), but i will have to it if a coallition doesnt work).

So here are the parties:

1.Socialist party
Everyone knows what a socialist wants, social equality for all citizens, more taxes for the rich, less for the poor. They are the only ones who want to ban weapons for civilians and a decrease in militairy spending. That militairy should then be used for peacekeeping missions all over the world, in as many conflicts as they can. As government they want to act as negotiator in conflicts, anywhere they can. Last but not least, the SP proposed to disband the Iron Guards, the Emperors elite army. With them in the government, the Emperor will also lose his ability/power to interfere in governmental issues

2.Vollmerian Liberal Democrats
The Liberals are slightly right winged, they want to keep Vollmeria's economy strong, support bussiness and (probably for the first time in our history) take a 'side' in the world. If elected they want to join an alliance, as the liberals dont want to be neutral no more. Their proposal to replace the emperor by a president was removed from their program.

3.Conservative Party
This is basicly the party that rules today, and believes it is doing good. They have no real program and do not think they need one. The Conservatives like things the way they are, a neutral Vollmeria with a strong army to protect that neutrality. The only change here is that they no longer want to help out other nations, Vollmeria should only interfere in conflicts if there is something to gain (territory, money, etc). And offcourse they support the Emperor.

4.Vollmerian Bloc
Every nation has extremists, and in Vollmerian you'll find them in the right-winged VB.
The most controversial proposal on their list is probably the unification with Vermin, making one huge empire with one huge army and economy(as you will see, this is only possible if they have a majority of the votes). They will increase militairy spending and play a more important role on the international scene. This party has one problem; socialists and liberals refuse to cooperate with them, that leaves only the conservatives as possible coallition partner. And VB will have to give up several of its ideas if they want to govern with the conservatives.


Voting will be possible for 5 days. The winning party will then have to form its government and the they will then be sworn in by the Emperor. Depending on what party wins, this may go fast or take very long.

I dont mind it if someone doesnt agree with the program of a party, you post it. But try to keep it civilized!

Hey it's called Free Enterprise my friend, Free Enterprise.

So i guess voting is over, and these are the final results. I dont like the results at all, the only possible coallition is would break up again in less then a month. Simply because the parties involved hate eachother.
Not sure what i'm going to do now.

I preferred a government to be formed trough fair elections but with these results ... maybe i'll let a coup take place, just dont know who's going to do it.

You have any idea's?

Totally unexpected, Liberals and VB anounced to form a coallition, libaerals always refused to negotiate with VB but they realize that this is their only chance of really governing. VB too understands that they can only get into the government with the Liberals. Together they represent 57% of the voters.

Both parties had to give in, especially VB who had to give up such things as the unification, but bothparties want Vollmeria to have a strong army and economy and play a more important role in international politics. The only thing that has not been decide on is the liberal proposal to join an alliance.
