Convention on Compassionate War

Feline
31-05-2004, 23:56
Feline announces that it invites all interested nations to draft a treaty that will add additional protections to protections already followed by many nations under the Geneva Convetion (OOC: Yes, I know it is a RL thing, but people have brought the same rules, word for word, into NationStates as a treaty by the same name).

Any nation who is potentially interesting in signing the CCW may send a delegate to the conference, to be held in international waters aboard the F.S. Feline Battleship.

Once five other nations have signed up, a date will be announced.

"Although we value our alliance with Feline very strongly, we believe that the Geneva Convention offers sufficient protections during wartime and will not be sending a delegate to this convention. We wish those attending the best of luck."

Edolia: An unwelcome, if not unexpected decision.

Ravea: Thank you for your commitment to fair and compassionate conflict.

While I feel that this agreement is a step in the right direction, I must also decline this invitiation, as I feel that the freedom to act in whatever way they see fit, if such action is deemed nessesary, must be available to the Armed Forces of Jondera.

Hmmm...Geneva...the weak way to fight a war. I will be in attendance in order to hear arguments presented on why I should or should not sign this treatise. If you can convince me, then I will sign, and Imitora will be counted among hte nations that follows the 'rules' of war
