A dimly lit room, concrete walls, one lonely desk, with one gigantic computer on it, the thing was four feet high, and three feet wide. It had ten moniters over the desk, each one searching all over the world, everywhere and anywhere. Searching for the ones who might have the spark in them, the ones who might be able to go through the test. The special unique ones. The ones that look like they lead normal lives, the ones who are blind to their potential.
A lone figure walked to the metal seat at the desk. He looked at the many screens, he was just 16 years old, his name; Sage Linner. He went to Ottawa Glandorf high-school, for one year. Before he disappeared to society.
“Lets see what we have today,” He said as he looked at the moniters.

A 14 year old male sat on a stone, looking into the water in front of him. His black hair offset his milky white skin, and merged with his black clothes, he gave a loud sigh. "Zacharius T. Smith. Occupation: Student. Age: 14." He read the small card in his hand again "Why me... Why did they have to choose me to give a lecture... They know I hate public speaking... And why the hell is it on PE? I hate PE"

As the rain drove down in sheets, a miserable heap curled up in a doorway, trying to find what shelter she could from the cold rain under a cardboard box and some newspaper. Lace was about 5'7" high, with long ratty blond hair worn loose. Although still quite young her face and hands were grey with ground in dirt. Her clothes had obviously been scavenged from someones rubbish bins, but scavenged with a purpose. All her clothes were covered in pockets, and most of the pockets were full of junk. Shivering, she opened her last chocolate bar and wolfed it down. Still her stomach grumbled.
"Oi! You! Whatya doing there?"
"Ain't doing nothing mister. Just hiding from the rain like."
"Well you can't do it here. Leave, or I'll call the cops."
Lace's sharp blue eyes shot him an evil stare, for just a moment. The young street urchin pulled herself slowly to her feet and began to shuffle off dedjectedly down the street in the pouring, freezing rain. The only sign she had been in the doorway was a pile of sodden newspaper and cardboard.
The grumpy old man shouted something after her, but she didn't much care what, so wasn't listening.

elxtia sat watching the scenery go by outside the train window. her first big adventure in life and all she could think about was how she was going to miss her seven parents and the lower school she had graduated from three weeks before.
her parents had all admitted they would miss her too, but as they reminded her, this was the tradition of pujzhush, the inter-educational sabatical that would last for two years. it was her time to discouver herself and know her own mind and body, before entering upper school and persuing the rest of her life.
she knew she had little to fear. she knew she would probably experience sex. actualy she had secretly a couple of times already without ever telling anyone, and fortunately nothing had come of it. but even with how having the i.u.d. implanted was popularly believed to raise libido, all she really had in mind was how much she would miss familiar faces and places.
of course the household she grew up in was focused on speculative art and writing, and her one talent so far had been music. her instrument, one of the few possessions she was encouraged to burden herself with, rode securely in the rack above her seat.
in her pocket were the standard five universal mathom chits, which she knew, if traded wisely would carry her physical needs through the next two years.
every town had places for anyone to stay, and food for them to eat. and she had been told and had little reason to doubt, most places tended to be especialy accomodating to young people on pujzhush like herself.
but right now she didn't feel adventurous, she just felt tired.
soon the rythum of the rails and the endless passing of forrest broken only occsionaly by someone's backyard or some other feature, soon luled her to sleep.

Lace ambled into the train station whistling and smiling. She was still shivering with the cold, and soaked with rain. The reason for the smile was not imediately obvious, as she had in her pocket, the wallet of the grumpy man who had sent her out in the rain. It wasn't much, but it would cover a sandwich, coffee and cake. Even at railway station prices. The reason she had chosen the station was simple - it was dry, and it was heated. And people like her could blend into the throng that normally passes through a station without being noticed.

A black car drove along the path, leaves flapping past it. It drove up to a boy sitting down. The door opened up and a 15 year old stepped out of the back door on the passengers side.
"Zach T. Smith?" He asked. "I would like for you to come with us."
He motioned for the open door. "We have some matters to discuss with you." He looked around. "And it will get you out of your speech."

16 Year Old Andrei Nikolaevich walked down the snowy streets of the Capital, Pakhachi, it had been snowing straight for 3 days now, but the school was still open for his last exams.
He made his way down the almost deserted snowy streets towards his school, he stopped for a few seconds and shivered, to have a pile of snow fall on top of him from a roof above.
"Stupid snow, i wish i could get out of this place.." He muttered, clearing it from his blonde hair, his green eyes shifted, catching another student walking around the corner, before he himself continued walking down the street.

[OOC: Here, first off, don't use characters that have been designated fantasy. Second, no blistball arenas, this is modern time, modern means look out your window and thats what we have right now, the year 2004. And no swords unless your ONE character is in a dueling club. I said one character remember, not two, you had two. Just follow that and you should be fine]

Military Wares up 0.03...
Gram had spent his entire career working the stock analysis for Muktar Corporation. It was harder than it sounded: Muktar bought the whole nation.
Convenience food down 1.47...
That had been dropping a lot, with the price hike in junk food. That had no effect on him: he always lived healthy, behaved healthy, and ate healthy.
Computer Products up 2.87...
That was a solid hike. That would be worth 287 USD for him right there. Computer technology was always a solid investment. Everyone always wished they could use it to escape reality, including him.
Military Wares up 0.4...
[OOC: Muktar you didn't talk much about your character]
OOC: Gram (pronounced with a long a) is fit, has lived a monotonous life that he wants to get out of, and he's good at numbers and playing probabilities.
The computer dealer looked up as he heard the sound of the entrance bell. He broke into a grin as he saw it was one of his best customers, fourteen-year-old Alice Altree. He could always count on her to buy something.
Alice wandered over to the hardware section to decide upon a new hard drive. Her brown eyes settled on one label, then another, then another. Though this was her first time looking at internal components, she knew what she was doing. In her left hand she held a printout of performance ratings for various drives, and in the right a simple four-function calculator to figure $/GB. Alice was quite aware of how much of a geek that made her look like, but given the choice between appearing nerdy and getting ripped off, she'd choose to bring them every time.
The same black car that picked up Zach drove up the rainy streets. They drove by an ally that Lace was in, the door opened up and the same person stepped out.
"Would you please come with us" He asked. "We have something to show you."
They got in the car and the car drove down the street for the next person.

OOC:
Sorry, gonna have to react to that post. However, feel free to run multiple timelines, it is a safe bet that she will get in the car - but she does need to be talked into it.
IC:
Lace turned, and watched the man get out of the car. Some people have nothing to fear from authority. Some other people have lived lives of desperate petty crime. These are the sorts of other people who have no real rights in practice, because nobody cares. They are people like Lace. She had been in a few encounters with the police before, but this was different. This was a slick black car with men in slick black suits. She didn't like it.
Lace backed off slowly, untill she backed into the railing seperating the pavement from the road. She rested her hand upon the railing, something about it's solidity comforted her.
"'Ello officer. How can I help 'ya?"

As he walked up to the broken mirror he saw a wall of different guns behind him. Seth walked over to the wardrobe and got out his black and white shirt and he saw a case at the bottom of the wardrobe.
He took it out and inside was a gun holster with his 2 trademark guns he put the holster on and walked out of the house

Her lips curled into a playfull grin as she lent upon the railing. She looked the boy up and down. Right enough, he surely wasn't a police officer. Police wern't in the habit of using 15 year olds in suits. Cute tho. So if he wasn't no police officer, what was he?
"Why should I beleave ya, Mr Hirzel? I mean, thats a right flash car ya got there and no mistake, but I don't think ya would be helping me. Ain't no reason why ya should. An me help ya?" She shook her head sorrowfully, but there was still that playfull smile upon her red lips. "Again, I don't see how. Ya don't seem lost, and I doupt ya are in the market for someone else's watch."
Her eyes lit upon the figure of Zach in the car. "Besides, looks like ya got some help allready. Maybe you are just a buncha dirty old men picking up little girls for all sorts of wrongness. Maybe I should be the one calling the police, eh?"
She waited a moment, and whiped some rain out of a blue eye with the back of a grimy hand.
"Ya can give me anything I want eh? I don't recon ya can. I recon ya are thinking what I would be wanting is a nice bed and a hot dinner. And ya might be right at that. But what if I were to say I wanted my mother alive. I want to have grown up in a proper school, with a family, and friends. I want to have played in a playground upon some swings without being chased off. I want to have walked down the street without being laughed at. Can ya realy, honestly, give that to me Philip Hirzel?"
"Like I said," Philip said, shaking his hat to get rain off it, he paused, looking at his hat, and sighed. Then he looked up, and smirked a creepy smirk. "I can give you...anything."
He took two steps forward, and looked around, he bit his lip, thinking. Then he looked at Lace, and walked over to her. He put his hand on her head.
"I can see all that you want," He said, his eyes closed. He opened them. "Its odd how life can treat some people, others life respects, and then the others life treats like an animal, and that is not how it should be. Yes we can offer you food and a warm bed, but then if you come with us, I promise once we reach our final destination you will see your mother, and you will have in your mind the proper education that you should have."
He smiled. "I shouldn't be doing this, but..."
He stuck out his hand and backed away, he faced the wall, and he closed his eyes...a minute passed by, and then he opened them, waves in the air spread out towards the wall, and the wall turned into a scene, in a house.
What it showed was a woman, in casual clothes, a big smile on her face...Lace's mother.
"If you come with us," Philip said turning back to Lace. "We can bring back the real person, and not just a vision."

Lace screamed. The vision was just too close to home, too real. She had hulicinated before - both from disease and from drugs - and she never liked it then. But there was something about this that was different. She shuddered, and noticed blood trickling down her chin from where she had bitten her lip in fear.
"I don't know who on earth that was, but get them out of ma head."
She brushed hand from her head.
"Ya may want to clean that." And she started walking towards the car.
"Allright, I will come with ya."
As she got to the car she stopped, and looked back at him. "On one condition. Don't ya ever do that creapy vodoo stuff again. What's done is done. Ain't no chainging it."
Philip walked behind her. "Unfortunately," He said. "The world was meant to be changed."
He let her in, and then went in himself. The car door closed, and they drove away. Their next stop the train station which was very close by, there they would pick up Elxtia.

"We will explain more later," Philip said.
"What is this Gram?"
"I'm quitting, sir. I'm only sisteen. I can do better than tracking stocks."
"But this is what you're good at. You're the best we've had in nearly a century!"
"Then I shouldn't limit myself to a career with such little potential for growth."
"Two weeks, Gram. That's all I ask. Take some time to reconsider."
"I've been pondering it for three months now."
"I'm not going to talk you out of it, am I?"
"No, sir."
"Very well then. It was good having you in the stock sector."
I'm free! Free, free, free... But where do I go from here?
Finally making her decision, Alice picked up a drive and headed over to the counter. She didn't have enough money to buy it right now, but she had known that from the start. In a few seconds the deal was complete. Alice paid the shopkeeper 75 blackrocks as a retainer of sorts, leaving the hard drive with him until she could get the other 225.
Her business done, Alice dropped the paper in the nearest garbage can and tucked the calculator deep in her pocket. June and Hiroko would probably be waiting for her at the theater, and Hiroko wasn't a patient person at all. This side-trip would be best explained away with a little white lie.
Sure enough, as she approached the theater, there were June and Hiroko. June was trying to calm Hiroko down, and 'Ro wasn't having any of it.
"Look, if Alice doesn't get here in the next two minutes, I'm out."
"Oh, come on, 'Ro. You know she'll be here."
"...1:50..."
Alice quickly walked across the street.
"There she is! Told ya, 'Ro. Hey, Alice!"
