Population

New Gregonia
31-05-2004, 05:58
After a brief survey run by the statisticians at the National Academy of Gregonia, it was discovered that, against all the rules of probability, New Gregonia has been growing at a steady rate of exactly 1 million people a day.
Soon many sociologists began to study what exactly causes population growth in the world of nation states. Tragically, their efforts were fruitless.
Is it just the amount of time a nation has been in existence that determines the population or is it also effected in any way by the policies of a nation?

Okay, theres a few different opinons on this:

1) Your population steadily increases by a set amount every day.
-I think this is bunk, because there are nations created within 5 minutes of mine with a 5 or 6 million gap in the population

2) The issues dictate by how much your population grows each day.
-I think this is more logical than the first one. Being anti-immigrant or inacting child-quotas would put a ding on your pop.

3) Its completely random.
-Just plain wrong.
