I can tell you why!
I can't take your results and your whole messing up of the Cherry Cup seriously! You ruined the cup by taking it to an offsite forum which is purged every week (when results are posted every two weeks or so), well taking it to an offsite forum is enough IMSCO! I can't remember 50.000 URLs because I log in from like a dozen different places! Not using the ranks made your scores TOTALLY unbelievable! Sorry if that was flaming, but IMNSCO it is your fault that the Cherry Cup is not existent anymore!

I'm going to move more and more towards the NS boards, since the offsite forums are being a real disaster. I may just use those for uploading the Excel standings shot.

Will you finally use ONE thread ?

will you finally use tables which are in text form (I use links to check the forums and can't see graphics with it)?

1. There's a rankings system in place. Right now, you get three points per win and one per tie. Whoever has the most points gets first place. Whoever has the least points is 18th (last) place. Tiebreakers are determined by the number of goals your team has scored.

2. There will just be two threads - this one and the roleplay thread. Both here on the NS board, not offsite.

I've been very open for feedback and advice in how to improve my running of the series. However, I should have figured it out long before now that the offsite forums were not going to go anywhere. Only me and Starblaydia were there, that I know of. Perhaps now, things will improve. There's plenty more in the season to go.

1. Right now, dices. It used to be whatever you got 1-6, that's it. Now it's 1-5, and 6 = 0. Although I'm looking into ways to take into consider your position in the standings and whether or not you've been on a streak or not.

1. I realize I need to add more with previous years rankings and streaks. Obviously, it's not going to make sense when a new team is going to dominate the league and a team that's been in all four season is struggling. Pretty much says the same thing in the telegram I'm sending to everyone.

4. Abysmalistan (ABY) is 9-4-1 (W-L-D), which amounts to 28 points. Scored 45 goals and gave up 37 goals in 14 games. 2nd overall out of 18 in the standings, would get a bye if the playoffs started today.

3. In the smaller cups like the CC, the host or the fallback-scorinator generated official scores every other day. If the host is busy and can't do it, he appoints someone to do it for him, also this person is responsible to scorinate the results of the host.

I have no idea how you would factor in ranking/favourites/who-is-the-better-team into scores. Rolling a die for long enough will bring everyone's scores exactly the same, barring statistical errors and 'luck'. As rankings aren't factored into that, that's fair, i guess.

But, for the Starblaydi team, who had never competed in any ice hockey competition before, to go 10 games unbeaten at the start of the season is somewhat unlikely. And that doesn't mean I'm happy with our recent 4 straight losses... :D

You volunteered to run it, so its your rules, of course *shrugs*

Alright, there will be an update tommorrow unless there's severe weather in my area, last minute plans, or the usual server meltdown. Expect it around the evening in US East Coast, 6 to 9 pm range.

I TG'ed Kaze Progressa. Perhaps something good will come from that. If all else fails, I use dice one more time.

Either way, Cherry Cup will be on it's way to the right track eventually.

Feedback requested for how things have been going the past few days. Good, bad, something?

Real tables, scores on a tagable location, an RP-thread which is not purged during the tournament, real ranks, that's good. it is still a bit strange that you always sim two matches in one run... but well.

Should I just go down to one? Or should I do more at a time?

The season I think has 44 games total.

With that many games, two at a time is fine by me.

EDIT: Just don't do the play-offs two-at-a-time, i reckon.

I'm going to do the playoffs sort of like the NFL...

I'm too far out of touch to figure out what's gone on with this cup, I can't be bothered to catch up now... I think it's safe to assume that the Walmingtonian hockey fad has faded and that we're back to playing sports that make sense... like cricket... and both versions of rugby... and prize fighting... and crown green bowls...

Most teams have been like that though. I'm pretty sure by Days 13-14, there was just me and Starblaydia left. Which is why I knew I had to do something different - get some people back interested in the series before I'm the one that ruined this forever. It's bad enough I pushed it close to ruination already. But well, I'm trying to get things right. And well, guess it's going ok so far.

I'm going to get a couple more games done right now...

Official Discussion: The top four teams from the last update struggle and don't pull away even further. The South got all bunched up in a hurry, where only five points seperate first from last. Abysmalistan still isn't falling that much with their new losing streak. The Northwest still doesn't change all that much.

(FYI: This is the 2nd account of mine (Gulf States))

Does anyone particuarly want to have TGs of game results sent to them? I've had a couple of teams now block any TG activity from me. So um, is it that bad of a problem?

If you wish to receive TG results, please reply. Otherwise, I might not send any to you. Or at least as often.

I personaly perfer the tgs cause the forum is so unreliable for me to constantly check.

EDIT: I really did this out of order. I thought today was games 33 and 34. I managed to do Days 31 and 32 on Monday. It really should have been 27 and 28 today, 25/26 Monday. I really don't know why I'm that far ahead of myself, but oh well. I can go back and do 25-30 after this.
