THE KEVIN TIMES - Military budget to rise?

CITY OF THE KEVINNGZH - The government announced plans to rise budget for the Ministry of Defence to 1 percent at the Parliament session yesterday.

"This is a good time to do it," says the Minister for Defence General (TKMA) Pauline Kimberly. "We recently reached maximum capacity for National Service and had to spilt entire cohorts into groups so we can train them in basic weapons handling. Many of our equipment are also unfit for use already. For example, our entire air force is made up of biplanes! Worse still, these biplanes are designed for air shows, not aerial combat." Many speculate that the Minister will spend much of the new budget on replacing existing equipment and buying new equipment.

The military of the nation is in tatters today. While a rather minor portion of the national budget during the early booming times, the ministry has been relegated to taking its measly 0.000056 percent of the national budget from the national reserves. Today, a civilian aircraft can survive an attack by the entire air force, if it doesn’t go too fast. Military ships are long decommissioned with useful parts sold to fund the ministry

When asked by our reporters on the how and the reason the Defence Ministry worked on such low budgets previously, the general shrugged. “I guessed the Ministry of Development forgot to pay for National Service,” referring to the original objectives of the Ministry of Development financing their own project. She also said, “We will be happy to take any weapons deal offer, as long as the weapon is cheap and reliable.”
