Ciwdod Cymraeg

Kevin MacMathan switched on a small lamp over his desk, cracking open a book by James David Allison, entitled Ciwdod Cymraeg Diweddar - Welsh Nation in Modern Times. He turned to a page and began to read, translating into a computer as he did so, as this was a Welsh text.

The course of religion in Ciwdod Cymraeg can be traced back to the 1600s and the founding of the Presbyterian Church. Many cymro still are practicing Christians, most Presbyterian - while other denominations are represented, there is no presence of Anglican or Catholic faith, mainly because of the Anglo-Catholic crusade which removed our cymro from our homeland.

Currently other faiths are enjoying a surge in representation in our homeland, principal among them Zen Buddhism, interestingly. It would seem that the searching for answers found in this faith is well-taken among we Cymro.

Judaism is becoming more welcome in Ciwdod Cymraeg recently, with a stunning 200% increase in the last twenty years, credited to the recent eradication of Jews from what was once our homeland.
