With a flash of blue and a ripple of space the Regulus-Sirius Jump-Node was split in two by the arrival of a freighter convoy, nearly a dozen Poseidon class Military Freighters flying out out of Sub-Space at almost full acceleration. Wasting no time they turn inward, flying towards the inhabited planet at speeds that would shock a space-racer. Their speed and disregard for safety is well understood since, though well armed and extremely maneuverable, what they're carrying would make them targets for some people they'd rather avoid. Their cargo: 22 MiniStar Engines (Two per ship). Black market value: Just under 1 trillion.

"Attention freighter group Stellar, this is Commander Dumas of the Gamma Draconis Military Consortium. We have you on sensors and are preparing a docking port. Come on home."

The freighterss orient themselves towards the coordinates they receive over the datastream (one of the newest Klonor inventions) and accelerate even further. None of the crew wants to be out in space any longer than they have to, thier cargo is as good as a bulls-eye painted right on their backs.

Suddenly, a large object moves in on the freighters from the rear.........

Okay, enter the pirates! I need somebody to RP as a pirate group raiding these ships for the MiniStar Engines. Who wants in?

I'd prefer it if this wasn't somebod that I've RP'd with before. Always good to meet new people.

OOC: Nobody wants in?

OOC: I am willing to make an entrance but that is up to you.

OOC: Are you willing to use correct spelling and proper grammar throughout the thread? That includes capitalising your individual "I's" and using commas in their correct places.

OOC: Well english isn't my first language but I have never been accused of bad spelling. So the answer to your question is yes.

OOC: Then welcome to the RP!

OOC: thanks. I am going for something less traditional then the standard pirate attack.

IC: It had been on a survey mission when it was ambushed by the storm. It had lost 30% of its mass and needed spare components badly. To make matters worse, power from the core had become erratic and the vessel would need an external power source to stabilise it again. Shields and the focused energy beam emitters still worked but longrange communication was out and it was far from home with sensors that were no longer accurate.

Then it detected the small fleet of ships. They would provide ampel fuel and their cargo contained unknown technology. It changed course and quickly reached the ships.

When it came into range, it made a detailled scan of one of the ships to determine how many it would need...

"Sir, we're being scanned! Sensor pattern is unknown and unencountered....... it's an alien ship."

"Hell. Distance?"

"Unknown, sir. Sensor power is unestimable and the ships profile makes for difficult triangulation."

"Well, isn't this just dandy. How soon before military personnell can get here?"

"Quite a while, sir. There's a small rebellion in one of the smaller planetary continents and everything is on Red Alert and being kept at the base. I'd say at least an hour."

"Shoot. Hail that ship, see if you can make contact. I want to know what the hell it is and what the hell it wants."

The scan was completed and the results were not encouraging. It would need 3 of these ships to regenare completely. It answered the hail with this message, brought by a cold artificial voice.


*We are 1. Shut down your engines and abandon your ships. They will service us now. Resistance is futile.*

It could not wait for a response so it targeted the engines of one ship and fired an energy beam at it. At the same time it accelerated to get closer to the ships.

OOC: Despite the design of the ship and some of the characteristics of this nation, they are not the Borg!

"Oy, another Borg wannabe alien species. How many of these guys are there?"

"I don't know, sir. But they're firing!"

"Shields?"

"Already up. All hands, brace for contact!"

The ship shudders and skews to the side, but takes no damage (I've always felt that damage in the opening shots ruins the rest of the battle, since we're already forced down a path)

"Opening a channel."

"Open, sir."

"Attention vessel, you have attacked a ship of the Draconian-Rossian Alliance. This is unexcusable. Power down your vessel, or face destruction."

"Channel closed."

"Blow them to hell."

The ships rotate and fire, 55 laser cannons roaring at the enemy ship.

IC: It had hoped that this would not be necessary. It normally had an entire complement of drones but most of them had already been absorbed to repair some of the damage. It launched its 4 last drones which sped away and added their firepower to the attack on the freighters. The scout came even closer as the lasers hit the shields. Every time it was hit, it changed shield configuration to better resist the lasers. Making each hit less effective although with 55 lasers shooting at it, the shields would still take damage and eventually drop.
