<<OOC: I don't really have any storyline plans for this, so feel free to do whatever you'd like. This is in great part a background piece for Edolia's education system.

I will ask that anyone who does RP please use proper spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc and that they follow all the standard rules of etiquette and roleplaying.>>

"All aboard!" Robert von Frunz hugged his father and mother and kissed his eight year old sister on the cheek. Quickly checking to make sure he had everything, he boarded the small catamaran that would take him to the boat that would be his home for the next ten months. The Prospect, anchored off in the middle of Gerburg Harbor, was massive. Able to comfortably accomodate five hundred and thirty four students, it boasted an impressive set of facilities, besides the basic lecture halls and dormitories one would find in your average college. Turning to the girl next to him, Robert pointed at the Prospect.
"Incredible, isn't it?" She nodded.
"It's going to be quite the experience." She paused. "Damn. Ten months. Traveling the world, seeing other countries. Do you have any idea what kind of a privilege this is? We're going to be conversing with the world's foremost intellectuals!" It was Robert's turn to nod. "I'm Bella, by the way. You?"
"Robert." They shook hands. The catamaran was nearing the Prospect. As it approached the unloading area, passengers filed to the front. Their horizons were being greatly expanded.

An advertisement making the circuit along the internet:
A unique opportunity!
Three new ships have been commissioned by the Edolian Ministry of Education as part of the expanding Horizons program. The Prospect, Dignity and Harmony are eight-hundred meters long, and can hold over five hundred students. Designed for long sea voyages, they travel from port to port over a ten month period, allowing the students the opportunity to visit the world's most prestigious universities and speak with the world's leading intellectuals. While travelling, students will attend classes in their ships’ spacious halls, taught by some of Edolia's most distinguished professors. Each of the three ships focuses on a different subject. Students studying on the Prospect will focus on political science, history and diplomacy. The Dignity focuses on the sciences while Harmony is artistic, allowing students to study painting, music, sculpture and a variety of other subjects. While this program is the preferred course for a Level 2 education during the fourth stage of the education process in Edölia* we are also opening the program up to foreigners, reserving 25% of the seats to non-Edölians. Foreigners will have to be subjected to a rigorous screening process, including a variety of competitive tests and are required to speak at least one of the following languages: Edöliani, Nova Edöliani or Zhongwen (Mandarin Chinese). Classes will be taught in Nova Edöliani, although translations into the other two languages will be provided. A fee of $65,000 (USD) will be required for non-Edölians.

<<OOC: *The Edölian education system is one of the most rigorous in the world. Approximately .5% of students by the age of 16 will make it into the Level 2 Program, which basically means that they are the elites of the student body, second only to those able to graduate to the Level 1 Program: basically an apprenticeship with one of the leading experts in your field.

If you want to RP a character from your country on the Prospect feel free. You can just say that whoever it is passed the test to get in and was selected –don’t worry about making sure it’s alright with me. Have your character do whatever s/he wants… just be realistic.>>
