Background Info: In the year 2034, Carl Monahan was elected as President of the United States. Monahan was a strong atheist and was elected on a ticket being bent on completely eliminating the Christian and Jewish religions from the United States. By this point, many steps had been taken to severely limit the power of religion.

In 2035, most of the Christians in the United States had fled their homes and moved to one of the last hotspots for the faith left in the country - the southeast. The Christian territory was from Florida northward to Delaware, along the coastline. The Christian territories sought to secede from the Union, but Monahan refused to bend. In fact, Monahan sent the army in to prevent any uprisings and tear down any churches being sprouted in the region.

In Orangeburg, South Carolina - the army was sent to a church being built on U.S. Highway 301. The commander of the American troops, Thomas Carter, had a heart attack during his initial confrontation with the volunteer builders. The army, poorly equipped, was then chased away with pickup trucks and shotguns. No shots were ever fired by the Carolinians. Strangely, this shown to the national government in San Francisco that the Christians would not go down without a struggle.

On August 11th, 2036 - the five states of the Christian Convention seceded from the United States - against warnings from Monahan. The new nation was named the Christian Republic of Flocarga and Delmarva. The Christians along the Southeast coast felt they were finally free to practice religion and escape the persecution of the American government.

---------------------

We now come to today. May 26th, 2039. Monahan was re-elected as President of the United States - now only with 43 states. Much to the surprise of his administration in San Francisco, more and more are moving to the Flocarga. The original declaration of the Christian Convention of August 2036 declared the eastern most parts of Maryland and Virginia and the parts of Florida in the eastern time zone would be in the new nation. However, many more counties and independent cities voted to secede the United States and join with Flocarga and Delmarva. By 2038, the rest of Florida, Virginia, and Maryland had joined in the new nation. Parts of eastern Tennessee had several referendums which voted for inclusion to the Christian nation. However, Monahan refused to let those counties leave.

The last straw to Monahan came in March of 2039. On the 24th of the month - Morgan, Berkeley, and Jefferson counties in West Virginia voted to secede from the rest of the state and join up with Virginia and Flocarga and Delmarva. Monahan once again sent troops to the region, even though the vote to secede was passed by a 4-1 margin.

The F&D troops have been sent up towards the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, to watch the border with the United States and prevent any attacks in the new (West) Virginian counties.

----------

To get to our point... we ask for the help of the international community. We wish to keep our sovereignty from the United States. Any military support to defend our lands would be appreciated. Official recognition of our nation helps too. Public support in the United States fully backs this war against us, although their forces are much weaker compared to about 35 years earlier (OOC: present day). Anything will help our nation, and the Lord will guarantee our victory.

Coastal sections are being monitored for any unusual activities to this moment, although troops and national guard are being moved into place farther northward and inland. Many have gathered within our own territory in Winchester, Virginia and Hagerstown, Maryland in case the American forces come from either way into Martinsburg, West Virginia.

We have troops patrolling major roads in and out of the two cities. F.R. 50, F.R. 40, and H-70 all have increased security into the country, as well as local roads. State Route 9, connecting Martinsburg to the rest of West Virginia, is closed at the Morgan County line.
