AP Press:

Following a move from Lazarus to The White Cliffs region, TGB officials have stated that they will need some construction for military and civilian benefit. First off, a bridge will be constructed between the main land mass of The White Cliffs and the smaller island approximately 2 miles away. This bridge will be the only access (for now) between the 2 land masses, and will be for both military and civilian use. It will be wide enough to accomodate 5 large tanks or 5 wide load trucks on each side of the bridge (10 widths total), as well as having a bicycle lane on each side.

Also on the slate for construction is a main naval station large enough to accomodate the entire TGB navy, if the need arises. A civilian port will also be built near the naval station, which will handle travel, commercial, and industrial traffic.

Finally, military engineers have started terraforming some of the small inlets around the nation for use as secondary naval resupply and repair stations.

TGB officials estimate that most of this construction should take approximately 10-15 years, and will cause the curtailling of any military expenditures other than maintainance of existing expenditures (repair costs for vehicles, pay for the soldiers, etc), as well as a cutback of much of the frivolous civilian spending.

OOC: The bridge will be a major choke point in the event that someone tries to invade (sheer cliffs don't allow for tanks or other land vehicle landings), so the bridge has been rigged so that explosives can be quickly placed to destroy the bridge. Also being constructed are underwater submarine pens. Finally, the secondary naval stations (constructed in the inlets) will be heavily defended by fixed and mobile implacements.

Construction is now complete, and the citizens of TGB can relax, safe in the knowledge that the government is doing what it can to improve the lives and safety of the populace.
