Berretta M96

The M96 is a .40 caliber version of the popular M92. Similar in most every respect, the M96 is a good compromise between size, weight, and firepower. The M96 is durable, and operates well under most conditions. This is a solid choice for a military sidearm or for personal protection.

AP Army (FN FiveSeven)

The AP Army is a small caliber weapon with a large magazine & armor piercing ammunition, making it a great weapon for special units or for personal protection. The 5.7x28mm round has low recoil, allowing for accurate firing of multiple rounds in a short span of time.

Browning HP

The Browning HP is a popular sidearm with the FBI & Secret Service. It is chambered for a 9x19mm round, with a fifteen round clip capacity. The Browning HP is a great personal defense weapon, but is not built to withstand prolonged periods of dust, dirt, and grit, making it an impractical military weapon.

Colt M1911A1

The classic M1911A1 is a durable, powerful, and accurate firearm with a limited seven round magazine. The .45 ACP round it fires packs a lot of stopping power, making this weapon a great choice for military or personal protection uses.

Colt Pony
http://securityarms.com/20010315/galleryfiles/2000/2013.htm

The Pony is a .380 caliber personal defense sidearm. It is inaccurate at longer ranges, but is great for personal protection. The Pony was not designed for battlefield useage, and should not be pressed into such a role. It has a small seven round magazine.

Action Express .50
http://securityarms.com/20010315/galleryfiles/0300/330.htm

The Action Express is a Desert Eagle variation, firing a powerful .50 caliber round. The AE has a limited seven round magazine. The .357 variant packs less stopping power, but has a larger, nine round magazine. The AE is a large & handgun, making it cumbersome for a concealed weapon. It is practical as a military sidearm, but its size & weight dimensons restrict it to MP's & other guard units. It is a good personal protection weapon, but care should be taken because the powerful rounds will often over-penetrate the target.

Glock 17
http://securityarms.com/20010315/galleryfiles/0400/467.htm

The Glock 17 is the 9x19mm variant of the full-size Glock line. The 17 carries a large, seventeen round magazine & operates with a closed hammer system. The Glock 17 is a popular police sidearm, as is its .40 caliber variant. It can be used as a concealed weapon, but the sub-compact variants are much better suited to that task. The Glock is highly durable, and makes a great military or personal protection sidearm.

Glock 36
http://securityarms.com/20010315/galleryfiles/1000/1086.htm

The .45 ACP Glock 36 is a potent handgun. It is designed to be a back-up weapon, but its personal defense qualities are great as well. With a small, factory standard seven round magazine, it is a great personal protection weapon. It is not a military sidearm, being inaccurate compared to other, full-size firearms. The Glock 36 is one of many sub-compact variations, others include 9x19mm, .40 caliber, and .357 caliber. Magazines from full-size Glocks will fit into the sub-compact variation, adding to its viability as a back-up weapon for a full-size Glock of the same caliber.
