OOC: Anyone interested in this RP idea?

It'll be sort of like Indiana Jones type stuff: two groups pursuing an ancient artifact, except set, A, in the Nationstates world, and B, with whatever tech level people want to bring to it.

So, to put a NationStates spin on it, I thought we could be going after some sort of ancient Menelmacari/Elven colony that contains some Famous Ultra-Powerful Artifact. Or maybe some completely new thing.

Is anyone interested?

Sounds intresting. My nation as I roleplay it is rather ancient in orgins, being founded around 3200 B.C. and with the many wars there are plenty of long lost and stolen artifacts, ancient ruins, tombs and lost cities.

Alright, I suppose we could set it in Teritora. So, before I start the thread, could Teritoria post some information on his history?

And some geographical and cultural info would be good for those of us who know little about Teritora.

Yeah, that would probaly help too. Your country strongly Catholic, right, with an inquisition, right? That's all I know.

I figured some medieval and ancient history would along of what you wanted:

The Ancient Kingdom of Teritora was founded around 3205 B.C. by King Teritora after he united by force the 7 Principalities of Teritora with according to legend an magical mirror that allowed him to see the movements of the armies of the princes and the so called sword of destiny which was lost during the warring period from the 3rd century .B.C to the 9th century A.D. After the founding Teritora enjoyed steady leadership until the 3rd century B.C. when the ruling power of the Royal family collapsed ushering in the warring states period that lasted until the 3rd century A.D when the great plague broke out. During the warring states period, many temples, cities and many relics and artifacts like the sword destiny and others were lost. More was lost when the great plague, believed to be punishment from the demon gods by the Teritoran Priesthood for lack of worship depopulated whole cities. In the fourth century Christianity and Judaism arrived in Teritora and by the 9 century had mostly supplanted the native religion which had its last gasp as an national if minor religion after followers tried to seize control of the government leading an 6 year epic crusade that ended with the usurper smote down by an glowing rock that fell out of an ray of light during the last epic battle outside the capital. Seeing this as an act of god the Victorious Christian forces built a holy shrine and placed the stone in it and set about hunting down and wiping out all the demon worshipers. The stone was later stolen from the shrine in the 15th century by cultists and hidden somewhere deep on of the dead regions.

geographical:

Teritora is an enormous, mountainous country bordered to the north, east, and south by seas and to the west by the Democratic States of Tarenor. The Teritoran landscape varies place to place, the interval and the northern coastline of the country are dominated by Temperate Rainforest regions, and the western and southern coasts are notably drier with a Mediterranean climate. The Teritoran landscape has many ruins of cities, temples, shrines and towns that were lost over millennia ranging from prefounding, to the warring states period and the following plague and the 13th century crusade. These ruins are generally believed to be filled treasure and lost relics though neither commoners who belief the ruins to be cursed and hunted or the nobility who are already wealthy and busy running their lands and politics are willing to go into the ruins, it also doesn't help that rumors of practicers of the banned native religion are hiding out in some of the ruins. The minor discouragement is the dangers of some the native predators though this threat minor as it is considered only fools get themselves killed by hell bears, dragons or wyverns. Modern Teritoran cities often surrounded by unusually thick and massive walls with buildings often build of stone with slate roofs. They are infamous for have winding twisting maze like cobblestone streets. Teritoran cities are known for their looking like a cross between a modern and idealized Medieval City.

Some Cultural info:

Teritorans are notably known for the most part for being extremely honorable, clannish to the point you might find family down the 7th cousins living together in the same home, highly devoted to their noble lords and being extremely devotedly catholic. They are also highly fond of carrying about medieval weapons, knowing how to use them and using them on each other if needed to or to hunt with. This use of medieval weapons is both cultural and encouraged by the Royal government who prefers to keep firearms in the hands of the Teritoran Military. Most Teritoran guardsmen wither noble or royal tend to not carry firearms in favor of more medieval weaponry. One of the dangers of Teritora besides offending somebody and getting challenged to a duel is the Teritoran extremely well organized underworld which is controlled by Yorin Guild, An ancient ruthless and down right evil criminal organization who’s origins are lost in the mists of time and exact goals are unknown. It is not advised to deal with this organization They completely control the Teritoran criminal underworld and even among the international criminal underworld is known for extreme ruthlessness and outright viciousness with dealing with anyone trying to encroach on their territory, gets in their way, or dare to try double cross them. They are headed by a Mysterious figure known only as the Keraci, an ancient Teritoran word meaning son of the devil.
