Commonwealth of McQuaide--A bloodless coup occured in the nation of McQuaide today, resulting in the exile of the older, corrupt regime. "We stand here on the steps of the Capital building triumphant!" said Army Lt. General Daniel Sweeny. Sweeny, the leader of the coup, ordered new elections in his first act as leader of the nation. A Time-Turner poll projects a strong Sweeny victory over the exiled government party.

McQuaide went on in his victory speech to call on the international community to embrace the newly liberalized state. "We now have a destiny to rejoin the international community. Membership in the United Nations, and membership in a regional coalition will ensure we are able to grow as a nation--we have many tasks ahead. We must rebuild the armed forces, revitalize our economy, and ensure that our liberties are forever protected. Most of all, we must build diplomatic relationships with our neighbors, in order to rejoin the global community!"

OOC--Just an introduction. I've been spying on this board for about a month, watching everyone at work. I'm looking for a good region to join, and suppliers for modern-era military tech, preferably NATO-based. And, obviously, advise is welcome.

The Aequatian Republic formally recognizes that the Commonwealth of McQuaide is an independent and sovereign nation. We wlecome diplomatic relations with a nation so supportive of citizen rights and freedoms.

As well, we can provide your armed forces with equipment, training and protection until you can fully defend yourself from foreign aggression.

The Commonwealth of McQuaide gratefully accepts the great Aequatian Republic's offer to establish diplomatic relations. With the permission of the Republic, our diplomatic mission can be dispatched to your capital within 72 hours.

Upon review of the great Aequetian Republic's naval forces, a naval liason team also stands by to travel to Aequetia to begin negotiations for the procurement of a naval expeditionary force.

The United Socialist States of Temme would like to establish diplomatic ties, and perhaps exchange embassies.

New Dublin, Commonwealth of McQuaide--The Commonwealth of McQuaide is pleased to announce the procurement of suitably regal estate in the McQuaide capital of New Dublin for the Temme and Aequetian Embassies.

The former Vice Presidential Palace has been retrofitted and opened for immediate Aequetian occupancy, on a 99-year lease of 1 Lobsterine per year. The present exchange rate is 2 Lobsterines / $1 USD.

In addition to the acquisition of the Vice Presidential Palace, the New Dublin Gran Marke Hotel has been acquired and heavily renovated. The Hotel, already renown for its opulence, has been equipped with the infrastructure for the heavy communications equipment needed for diplomatic operations.

In other news, The Commonwealth is pleased to announce a change in its UN Civil Rights rating to Superior. Newly elected President Daniel Sweeny made the announcement from the drive of his private home, adding that the recent changes in the Civil Rights and Political Freedom ratings came at no loss to either the economic ratings of the country or the tax rate.

We have security and a motorcade prepared for the arrival of the McQuaide diplomatic mission at Bomfy Memorial International Airport in our capital, Magna Casa. As well, Chief General Jason Taylor would be willing to meet with your nation's naval liason for discussions.

We graciously accept the offer of an Aequatian Embassy within McQuaide. Renovations are being completed on a building within our capital to accept a McQuaide embassy.

The Commonwealth of McQuaide diplomatic mission, having arrived in Aequatio, is eager to begin negotiations by the establishment of a list of priorities for discussion so an agenda may be set. The Commonwealth will begin this dialogue by offering a list of suggested topics for discussion. The Aequatian Republic will then have the honor of either selecting which of the McQuaide topics are most appealing, or suggesting their own topics.

The Commonwealth of McQuaide would like to formally propose the following topics of discussion:

1) The establishment of a mutual defense treaty between the Commonwealth of McQuaide and the Aequatian Republic.

2) The commencement of military equipment purchase by the Commonwealth of McQuaide and The Aequatian Republic including, but by no means limited to, the purchase of a full amphibious assault force capable of landing a full brigade and providing followup fire support and logistical capabilities.

3) The negotiation of a treaty of non-aggression or of mutual defense between the region Allied States of EuroIslanders and The Unforgiven, should The Aequatian Republic have the authority of The Unforgiven to do so.

4) The addition of the Commonwealth of McQuaide into any non-regionally-oriented military alliance for the purpose of mutual self-defense and peacekeeping operations.
