Foreign Minister the Lord Archduke Simon Darquis II has announced that new foriegn aid will be supplied to third-world nations which have met, or are attempting to meet, these criteria:
* A democratic government accountable to all the people.
* Willingness to allow foreign investment.
The aid will take the form of material investment in the countries involved. It will take the form of medical training, resource exploration, and education.
Simon Darquis has announced that he hopes to see a world where every child can live to make a difference, a world of peace and general prosperity, where men and women of all nations will work together towards the ideals of the Grand Cause. In a rare press conference in his office, he said that, "the way forward for mankind is not through patronisingly handing out currency and Imperial Marks. Instead, we must help the less fortunate nations of this world directly, through investment and mutual profit-building."
"The way to solve the problems of these poorer nations is not by treating them like children, but instead by working with them as equals for the greater good."
His Imperial Party counterpart, James Tylaer, Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs, has refused comment at this date.
