Tonight at 2:05 AM, Suna Kaya’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Kentaro Fuyunagi was found dead in his Tsunashite apartment. An autopsy is yet to be performed, but it is widely assumed that Suna Kaya’s anti-American terrorist group “Dokuritsu no Nansei” is responsible for Fuyunagi’s death. At press release “Dokuritsu no Nansei” has not claimed responsibility.

Minister Fuyunagi had been receiving death threats since early February, but he publicly announced that his pro-American foreign policy would not change.

The pro-Ryukyuan extremist group “Dokuritsu no Nansei” [“Independent Ryukyu”] has resorted to terrorist tactics in attempt to drive out the American minority on the former Ryukyu islands that now make up Suna Kaya since the island nation’s birth. The group’s leader, Andrew Lindh, claims that Americans are foreigners and do not belong on an island group that has been struggling for true independence for centuries. He also believes that his group’s terrorist attacks are justified because of American hegemony in all aspects of Ryukyuan life.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Raine Allenby will assume the office of Minister of Foreign Affairs. She will be sworn in later today and name her vice minister later this week. Miss Allenby has not made a statement concerning Mr. Fuyunagi’s death at press time.

New York and Jersey
22-05-2004, 07:01
"Such a terrible, terrible tragedy on a group of people that no longer even exist...." Commented a random foreign affairs specialist within the depths of one of New York and New Jersey's many government buildings. "We should pay attention to this situation, some of those former Americans maybe from the North East an would classifiy as citizens as the North-Eastern Kingdom.." The North-East Kingdom was just another name for New York and New Jersey and its territorial holdings throughout the former US North East. Another aid nodded his head in response to the first and stamped the news report as a must read article for the Director of the Office of Strategic Services, the offical multipurpose intelligence arm of the kingdom.

Later that day the O.S.S. director Thomas Yoland gazed over the newspaper clipping and almost spit out his coffee at the mention of the world American. "Well isnt this something...if this situation degenerates any further the King will need to authorize a controlled evacuation..." The OSS director mused to himself and put the report down onto the backburner for the time being. It wasnt a major issue just yet. But it had all the potential for spiraling out of control quickly. The O.S.S. Director knew better and soon he picked up his phone and placed several calls. The 2nd Marine Amphibious Group, which was returning from being stationed down in Puerto Rico was diverted heading out toward the Pacific and toward the island nation. They would however keep well away and under the protection of the navy group escorting them.

It would be sometime though before King de los Santos knew of the full details and approved of them. "Americans? I havent heard that term in ages...interesting...well..keep an eye on it. I want the OSS and Joint Cheifs to draft a plan for the evacuation of Americans and if need by the deployment of Marines to keep beaches and airports open for the removal of our foreigners..." Thus the cogs of a massive government slowly began to speed up and people got to work at their assigned jobs so that the unit as a whole would work as fast as possible with little hold up.

Minister’s Death a Heart Attack

Tonight at 10:45 AM, autopsy reports of Kentaro Fuyunagi were publicized by the Ministry of Health and Human Services showing that the minister of foreign affairs died of a heart attack, not of a terrorist assassination as previously assumed. Immediately after the reports were publicized, the government received immediate negative feedback only by the family of Mr. Fuyunagi, who complained that the publicizing of the minister’s autopsy reports was a violation of privacy rights, and by “Dokuritsu no Nansei”, who demanded an apology for the claim that they were responsible for Mr. Fuyunagi’s death.’

Andrew Lindh, leader of “Dokuritsu no Nansei”, issued a statement which claimed his organization does not resort to killing government officials in order to claim victories for its cause. He also demanded the Suna Kayan press retract its statements that “Dokuritsu no Nansei” may have been responsible for the minister’s death.

New minister of foreign affairs Raine Allenby issued a statement lamenting Mr. Fuyunagi’s death and asserting the change of foreign policy towards the United States. Noting a rising trend of anti-American sentiments in the nation, Allenby proposed a more cautious foreign policy in reference to America.
