Brazillico
20-05-2004, 20:25
The Formerly Jingoistic States of Brazillico along with the United Nations of Spaam are proud to announce their intent to host the 15th Edition of the World Cup. This dynamic duo brings with it a wealth of experience, with Brazillico having hosted World Cup 4 and both nations having already joined forces to host a very successful third edition of the Harmony Cup. Spaam is also a guru when it comes to spreadsheeting, so any concerns regarding scorination should be settled there.
RP bonuses seem to be a hot topic lately, and Spazillico will bring to you an innovation which has never been seen before, four-tier RP bonuses. Basically, this system is the extraordinarily fair, as exceptional (and by exceptional, we mean EXCEPTIONAL) RPs get duly rewarded, contrary to some past bonuses which ranked these superb literary works the same as ten-liners. Likewise, since there will be target zones to reach the tiers, “Spaaming” get effectively eliminated as characters counts are not directly responsible for the RP bonus you receive. To keep the RP bonus a surprise, we’re only at liberty to say that the highest bonus one can get is -2 off their ranking, and no negative bonuses shall be doled out for “Aquillish-RPs”. Also, the bonus shall be cumulative, so people won’t feel forced to HAVE to put something up for every match.
Spazillico will be heavy on RP. Detailed accounts of festivities and ceremonies in Spaam and Brazillico shall be given to welcome the rest of the world into these respective nation’s cultures. Pre-game weather reports will also be given, as they were in World Cup 4, allowing the writer to integrate the field conditions into his/her RPs. Also, the Gambling Wonder Child of World Cup 4 will host a gambling service, (a la WC5 and 12) to allow players another outlet to RP under. “The Gambling Wonder Senior Citizen’s Periodic Pick’Em Pow-Wow” is expected to be one of the smash hits of World Cup 15, should Spazillico be selected to host the bid.
Here is some information on some of Brazillico’s stadia:
Name: Undelay Industries Stadium
Location: Kalita, Brazillico
Capacity: 88,000
http://www.sportsvenue-technology.com/projects/arsenal/images/Arsenal_03.jpg
Located in Brazillico’s most populous city, this is the first stadium built since the revolution, being completed twelve years ago. It opened its doors in a qualifying match against Kaze Progressa, where the Progressans beat the Chili Bats 1-0 in a match that meant absolutely nothing besides signaling that it had become the new national stadium for Brazillico. Located in the heart of Brazillico’s commercial centre and across the river from the nation’s top industrial port of Tirona, Smog is often present and can be very hard on players. Oh, did we mention the cup is being held in the midst of Kalita’s rainy season?
Name: Libertad International Stadium
Location: Libertad, Brazillico
Capacity: 72,000
http://www.sportsvenue-technology.com/projects/daegu/images/daegu_02.jpg
Constructed 43 years ago for World Cup IV, this stadium in Brazillico’s capital has seen its fair share of competitive football on the international and club circuits. Although it is no longer the state of the art stadium it was when it hosted the finals of the fourth World Cup, it remains an excellent venue for football. Libertad International is in need of a bit of spit and polish, and granted the 15th edition of the World Cup comes to Brazillico, it will get a major facelift. This inland city is notorious for its scalding hot summers and the heat is often a factor in most matches held in these parts. And whaddya know? The World Cup is being hosted in the dead of summer. Matches here could prove to be a battle of attrition.
Cordova Park
Location: Cordova, Brazillico
Capacity: 52,000
http://www.sportsvenue-technology.com/projects/heinz_field/images/Heinz04.jpg
The legendary Cordova Park just went under a major facelift to restore it to the original splendour which could be seen fifty years ago. Cordova is one of Brazillico’s most popular tourist destinations with great weather, world-caliber golf courses and long sandy beaches. Despite it’s rather large capacity, a day at Cordova Park is an extremely intimate football experience, with one feeling they’re at arms-length away even from the nosebleed section. Cordova Park is located on the shore of the Pacific Ocean and that cool sea breeze, which makes this climate ideal, also tends to wreak havoc on the pitch.
Campo de Suenos
Location: San Pablo, Brazillico
Capacity: 36,000
http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium_pictures/europe/portugal/faro/sao_joao_algarve.jpg
San Pablo, the religious centre and northern most city of Brazillico, boast one of the most beautiful stadiums in all of the country. The Campos de Suenos, or Field of Dreams, was built after the legendary San Pablo Amphitheatre was deemed unsafe and ordered to be torn down. Although Real San Pablo was heartbreakingly left out of the LEAF Superleague, San Pabloans will once again be treated to football of the highest caliber. Here, you can just sit back and relax under the glowing starlight and not have to worry about getting sunstroke or bucketfuls of rain falling down on your head, just watch football the way it was meant to be played. This place is simply enchanting.
Corsa Pasi Stadium
Location: Corsa Pasi, Brazillico
Capacity: 55,000
http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium_pictures/europe/portugal/lisboa/lisbon_alvalade2.jpg
Another one of Brazillico’s new stadia, the Corsa Pasi Stadium replaces the old building which was erected for World Cup 4. A sensational beacon of patriotism, playing with the national colors of green, yellow and blue, Corsa Pasi is quickly emerging as a Brazillican favorite. Home to Pasi City FC, another team who might have had the cajoules to make an impression on LEAF, but simply left out, this place is reknowned for its boisterous atmosphere. Admire that saucer-shaped green roof; that keeps the fans nice and dry from Corsa Pasi’s notorious wet season, but loans itself to its fair share of mud bowls.
Locosi Coliseum
Location: Locosi, Brazillico
Capacity: 65,000
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/buildingbig/wonder/structure/images/olympicstadium1_dome_1.jpg
This stadium has been called the Big Bunker, the Concrete Monster, the Spaceship, the Giant Joystick and just plain ugly, but it’s planned to be a part of World Cup 15 nonetheless. Notorious for its concrete pitch, covered by a green carpet known as Astroturf, Locosi arguably has the worst field in the World east of Abysmalistan and has lead to its fair share of blown knees and turf toes. Desperation and bravery are put at a premium here at Locosi, where the team who wants it more are usually more dangerous than the side who’s most skilled.
Spaamanian stadia to come
N.B. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding the Spazillico bid, feel free to post them here on the thread, as either I or Spaam would be more than willing to address them.
