A major thing: Elvish death march.

Emerald Winter

In recent news today, the Civil War in Emerald Winter has taken a turn that may signal the end of this long conflict is near. The following major Loyalist cities have fallen within the last week alone:

Marine.

Thérèse.

Rada.

Zala.

Macie.

Most of these cities fell because the Loyalists within them did not have enough supplies to carry on fighting. Another major occurrence is that a major Loyalist soldier-Lieutenant General Seneca Manus-was captured in the city of Zala, along with over 100,000 Loyalist soldiers. Most of those captured were starving, had no ammunition, no boots, only partial uniforms, etc... Treatment of the prisoners is reported as low.

we wish your nation freedom and prosperity along with unity and peace. However as I said we wish you this, we will have little else to do with your nation to maintain our non interventionist policy

News has come out of the Elves-and others-of the Loyalist forces that were captured from Zala. They are being marched day and night, little or no food, they are shot for the slightest reason, and beaten as well. 10,000 of the prisoners from Zala have died already, over a period of 2 days since their capture.

OOC:Uh oh indeed, I remember i got an drop fleet when the TLPA was in power and was killing elves in droves with medical experments in death camps, Siri sent an Drop Fleet attack on top of the 13 other nations attacking me. This should be intresting to keep an eye on though I am about to get into yet another major war.

OOC: I should warn you that nations have burned for less than this...

That said, some extremely heavy military support for these 'loyalists' might be in order on my part. Support of the 'war-turning' variety, if you catch my drift... any objections to such?

Intersting, I think encourge the various Zerni Corporations to sell weapons and equipment to both sides.

OOC: Well they're only a 5-week old nation, and I haven't seen you raze any nations to the ground recently ;) (although I might have missed it, finals and work could have distracted me.) so they might not have realized that. You could always fire a warning shot across their bow... and if it happens to hit their capital building *shrugs* oops?

OOC: Actually, I just read up on the background of this civil war and this not the random 'OMG KIL TEH ELVZ' oppression thread I'd expected. Further, Emerald Winter is even farther below my tech level than I thought he would be. I've thus changed my strategy. I'm still going to intervene, but I'll make a mess somewhere just to make a point, and force both sides to the table. The rebels behind this forced march are going to suffer, oh yes - but there's going to be an equitable settlement amenable to all parties.

That is, of course, provided it's okay with Emerald Winter OOCly. It's his story, after all.

(As I must state now before every post I make: My true founding date is Feb 06, 03. I rank in the top 100 or better in almost every category. If I say that your cities will run red with blood, better build bigger sewers)

(OOC: Come now Siri, I don't think thats truly necessary for a nation this young. Then again, considering the last time I tried to supply a force fighting you they collapsed in oh...20 minutes)

The Kaiser must condemn the actions taken by Emerald Winter in even these harsh times that said country is facing. Massacre is never an option, unless it will provide a momentuous boost to your efforts...or the Tremalkien Army is involved.

As such, we will not provide any assistance should interventionist forces procede on the side of the Elven population. However, we are willing to dispatch a single brigade of Hammers to escort any refugees you care to release into our custody.

OOC: THAT'S EVEN WORSE! I've been fully aware of the background, and that's why I'd be using mercenaries, and not the actual legions. Of course... if you want to pull this off, you could hire the IMM... *makes sad puppy face*

All joking aside, that does make sense. However, this big mess... um... what is this going to be? Something requiring clean-up?

Well, it will probably leave a crater, but somewhere uninhabited.

(And no, EW, before you ask, it doesn't involve nuclear weapons. I don't have any.)

Feel free to take some action, Menelmecar; but the Reds don’t have a set Capital, and the Loyalist Capital is in Red hands.

Kiril Martin slumped in the wooden chair, looked up at the window of the small room he was sitting in, watching the countryside, then looked at the two figures sitting across from him. One was a Human, and the other was an Elf. Both wore the uniform the Royal Army, also known as the Loyalists.

“So,” he said, “you’re telling me that we’re losing, yes?”

“Yes, sir,” the Human said. He was Colonel Robin Hart, an expert member of the Artillery Corps.

“That is what we’re saying, Your Majesty,” the Elf said. He was Major General Círdan Cúthalion, a member of the Infantry.

Kiril looked at them both “What can be done? Don’t forget, gents, that I’m new to all of this.”

Círdan heaved a heavy sigh “Not much can be done, Your Majesty, as most of our best Officers are gone, and most of our best soldiers are dead. We haven’t been on the offensive in 10 years. Zala proved that just recently.”
Kiril nodded “Should we sue for peace?”

Both Officers shook their heads, obviously letting their pride cloud their judgement.

Again, Kiril nodded “Very well. Attempt to get some of the prisoners from Zala back, or at least secure good treatment for them.”

"Menelmacar cannot be allowed to exert her influence on Emerald Winter unopposed," asserted Warlord Adûnakôr.

Warlord Garrand heaved a heavy sigh. "Committing forces to Emerald Winter would be a waste of money and a waste of men. I can tell by the way this is shaping up that these 'Loyalists' are bound to win. The media seems to be on their side, and they're bound to receive an outpouring of international support, especially if we intervene." He shook his head. "Even supplying logistics would be too high-profile."

Adûnakôr scratched his chin, and was silent for a time. Silence lingered in the room as the Númenorean weighed his options. "We could always beat them back with goold old fashioned military might. Metus is already mobilized after the Syskeyia denouncement," he declared.

Garrand sighed again, and pinched his brow. "But if we up the ante, I'm sure the Noldor will as well. The last thing this world needs is the two of us literally carving it up. I know Lord Melkor would support the initiative, but damn it man, I rather like staying alive."

Adûnakôr pursed his lips. "Perhaps..." he trailed off. "Perhaps if we deployed only select units: Easterlings, Southrons, Veriags and the like, and clad them in different uniforms?" he suggested. "It's a bit of a stretch, but it's worked for others in the past. We could cajole some tertiary ally into intervening, and simply provide the manpower."

Garrand's eyes flitted about the room, as he tapped his stylus absently against his desk. "Perhaps."

You shall not regret this decision, sirs. The IA series of weaponry is the Imperial Legion's primary designation for their armaments. We have managed to get ahold of a large amount of surplus weaponry, and will be glad to use it to further the Grand Cause.

However, if you would prefer weapons your troops have experience with, then if you send us just one copy, we might be able to mass-produce it. The 'Combat Consultants' will be available shortly.[/code:1:aacd622f15]

"Greetings in the name of New Beginings, Ascension, and the Emperor,

We have been authorized according to Imperial Decree 897.56a to communicate with your government in order to neogotiate a business relationship. We have become aware through international news broadcasts and growing tensions in the international community of a problem within your nation regarding prisoners of war who are of a sub-human species. I am authorized to offer to you aid from the New Beginings Corporation in removing these prisoners from your country in order that you may avoid military conflict with several nations who appear to be protesting your actions with these sub-humans. You would be compensated for every sub-human removed from your custody, and transport would be provided by the New Beginings Corporation. If you are willing, military forces of the New Beginings Corporation could also be dispatched to assist you in the handling and exportation of these sub-humans. We await your reply.
