The Tordoran Wars: The Tordoran-Zerni Wars: the second war

This is an split off from what started between Zerni and Tordor in the Tirah Trade War.

IC: Earth, the Tordoran homeland, Parrlamentally Capital of New Tordor city, Office of the Prime Minster.

Prime Minster Keri Hurusami read reports his agents gave him of the turning back of the fleet by the Zerni Armada in the Tirah system. She could use this to her advange. There was many hard feelings in the Tordoran homeland on earth and in even the Tordoran home systems towards the Zerni over the last war. If she brought this before parlament she could get an declaration of war, now that would put the Queen back in her place. The Queen might pretty much run unoffical the Tordoran homesystems and colonies, might offically be head of state, be commander in chief of the miltary and have control over all police forces in the kingdom, and even be able to sign and make treaties an had an few other powers, but the prime minster controled all other government minstries and only parlament could declare war, make laws and raise taxes. It could be an way to put the queen and her royal faction back in their proper place. She would have to contact the party leaderships of the colition but it would likely be too good to past up, revenge and putting the royalists back their place, such an combination would be hard to past up.

The Tordoran home systems, Tordora system fourth planet, Royal Capital city of Thrapes, Royal Palace,

Queen Seria Thrapes frowned at the report, the Grand Marshal had alrightly been dealt with however, she knew an incident of vilience with the Zerni would be leapt upon by her enemies as an chance to start another war with the Zerni and as an way to attack her personally. The last war ended with one of her daughters being married to one of the Zerni emperor's grandsons. That could be used against her by her enemies in event of war or the war would be used to get her out of the way of the corporate controlled parlament's way. She had to check this before it got to far. She wrote out an message to be sent to her agents in parlament for them to try to delay any motions for war or any other actions that could be taken but concidering that the home systems were not currently allowed much repesentation in parlament and in the homeland the process was controled by Geran corporation and only corporate lackies were allowed run for parlament, her factions chances of delaying anything was unlikely. She shook her head, this was likely to get very messy fast if her enemies had their way.

Emperor Mishami sighed, his gamble had succeded, it was not certian that his hastly thrown together would work to turn back the Tordoran agression even if they had been trained to work with other and multable fleets. The Tordoran had backed down but he doubted that it would the end. Tordoran politics was fractional and messy to deal with. You had the Geran Corp faction, the Royalist faction, the TPLA Faction which was finally wiped out by the Xanthalians, thank the kami, and the Prime Minstery faction along with an host of minor factions in large enough numbers to make things even more chaotic and unpredictable. He knew that while the Queen would not want an war, it would be most likely that it would forced by coliation of factions led by Geran Corp and the Prime Minster's group more than likely. He sent out orders, if there was to be war, knowing the factions there was, the declaration would come only after the opening attack, he could at least prepare his fleets for that, he could not allow or afford for the Tordorans to land forces or any accoring war would go bad quickly.

International broadcast from the office of the Prime Minster: Prime Minster Keri Hurusami sat behind the desk, the Flags of the Prime Ministry and the Garn Corp. factions hung from the wall behind her. "An few weeks ago, Tordoran forces skirmished in the Grand Duchy of Tirah’s Home system with a Zerni Armada who attacked with out warning and drove off our fleet on route to the Tirah homeworld." She didn't mention the fact that the fleet had not been invited by the Tirah and was in fact an invasion fleet taking advantage of the war between the Zrion and Tirah. "As such the Technological Kingdom of Tordor hereby makes these demands upon the Free Market Empire of Zerni. The Destruction of all Zerni naval and space Warships, The payment of 100 Trillion Dollars and an apology for the attack on our forces, the surrendering of control of all Zerni systems and colonies and the abdication of the Emperor of Zerni. If these demands are not meet we will declare full and unconditional war on Zerni. If the Emperor of Zerni cares for his people and doesn't want war he will meet our demands or else. I and Parlment will await the Zerni answer to our reasonable demands." The broadcast ends.

International broadcast from the office of the Prime Minster: Prime Minster Keri Hurusami smiled coldly, one thought about it, she had the some disturbing, evil, look in her eyes that Chairman Woe and the Priate Kin had back during the early 21 century and that Prime Minster Geran had. "It is most regetable that Emperor Mishami refused to meet the just demands of the Tordoran Parlment. I have here an declaration of full and unconditional war by the Technological Kingdom of Tordor upon the Free Market Empire of Zerni. All the means of our might will be put forth to crush the Zerni forces and bring their empire to heel. Tordor and Zerni are now at war."Broadcast ends

Public address to the Zerni people by Emperor Mishami siting in his garden in the Imperal Palace in the ZErni capital: We are facing an dark hour. The Techological Kingdom of Tordor's Parlment has declared war and we are now in an unjustifed war of agression being waged by Tordor however the Zerni are an great people with an great way of life and we shall endure. We shall fight them in space, we shall fight them in orbit, we shall fight them on the ground, We shall never surrender. In order to esure the survivial of our Free Market system and our way of life I am Hereby calling for volunteers for service in the Imperal Space Navy and the Imperal Space Marine forces. Your empire needs you. May the Kami protect us.Broadcast ends

Across the Zerni homeland and the Zerni worlds men women volunteer by the scores in towns, villages, cities and hamlets, not enough to disrupt the economy system though that may change as the war went on. The Government began buying newer high tech weapons for its marines, it would be too costly to buy weapons in short time for the imperal army which was still living in medival times, it would be up to the utra modern Imperal Space Navy and the Imperal Space Marines to hold off the Tordoran onslaught.

Things were different in Tordor, in the Tordoran Home systems and especially the Tordoran Homeland on earth. The Tordoran Parliament under the control of the Geran Corp and Prime Ministry factions had quickly passed an war powers act. The frist effect was that an draft was issued with veiled threats to the subjects and their families behind if the draftees didn't report for duty. The second part was that the members of the Royalist faction in parliament, in the Parliamentary capital and the homeland were quickly jailed to derail any attempts by the formally secret Parliamentary police who had quickly replaced and arrested all the members of the Ministry of Police in the Homeland and the space colonies as soon as the war powers act passed. Phase one was complete, the next phase would target the Home systems and the Planetary colonies.

In an jail cell the Minster of Police, Huri Hisami glared at Prime Minster Keri Hurusami who was watching him in the cell,. "You can't, this is a direct violation of the Tordoran Constitution. Your never get away with this. Queen Seria will stop you." Prime Minster Keri Hurusami chuckled and spoke. "Be quiet royalist dog. I already done it but don't worry given time your queen will be joining you. Its time for this country to learn who their real master is. Guards teach this royal dog a lesson." Minster Keri Hurusami walked away chuckling as to guards dressed in the black and gold of the Parliamentary forces entered the cell and the sounds of beating began to come from it. All was falling into place, this war would provide the perfect cover to take full control of the government and those fools in Geran Corp. and Parliament each thought they would have control of the country when this take over was complete, they would be most surprised when they woke up and she was running the country.

OOC:Yes but it will be information that they can use later. Warning you OOC for later; there will be repeated planetary bombardments by the Tordoran forces. By then Queen Seria will be imprisoned by the Prime Minster in her own palace and no longer in command of the Tordoran forces, your spies will most likely find that out easly that out but the Tordoran forces will not know that. Once that happens theres going to be an lot of war crimes commited by the orders of the Prime Minster and surported by an puppet parliment. Multable violations of the geneva convention, various international laws and general crimes against humanity will be commited.

9 Weeks later:

The Training of turning the volunteers into members of the Imperial Space Navy and the Imperial Space Marines was drawing to an close. Zerni Military leaders however were concerned, they had to depend on volunteers to increase the Imperial forces, they knew from intelligence reports that the Tordorans were not doing the same, they were conducting drafts, giving the draftees enough training then they would sending them into battle. The Tordoran forces would likely use the draftees as shock forces then send in their experienced forces in to attack the weakened enemy. They know that with Tordor being a larger country with an larger population base, they could handle, much more losses than the Zerni forces could, especially since Emperor Mishami refused to draft people for the defense of the Empire on the grounds that if they were not willing to volunteer they should not forced to fight. This meant the empire would have to fight a mainly defensive war. To solve this dilemma, the high command turned to the strategic genius of Admiral Huturdo Himusai to come up with a plan for the war which he did... A plan that would go into action as soon as the Tordorans began hostilities and break the will of the enemy to attack.

9 Weeks later:

Prime Minster Keri Hurusami cursed as she read reports from her agents. 18 weeks since war was declared, all the draftees though their basic trainings and by all rights the Tordoran forces should be moving. However, Queen Seria delayed ordering the forces forward every way she could and only now ordered forward into space the military forces. Queen Seria would pay for this, her Para police forces had filtered into the space colonies and the home systems, soon they would be in place to seize control of all policing actions there then it would be an simple matter of putting the Queen under house arrest and then she would be the ones giving the orders to the military and in full control of the country. Then things this war would really get underway with none of the military loyalists having a clue their queen was not in charge anymore. Tordor would wake up one day and find it had strong real leadership and then she would not need certain supporters and they could disappear quietly into the night where they belonged.

OOC: I can't believe that the Queen hasn't picked up on this.

OOC: Oh she knows something is going on, her Minster of Police and most of the ministry of Police in the homeland have been seized and the rest are in hiding planning their next move. How could she not know something's up.

IC: Queen Seria looked at the meeting of her high council which was noticeably missing the Minister of Police; he had disappeared on inspection in the homeland in the Parliamentary capital. There was various looks of uneasiness among the council members, Lord Herasi, Director of the Royal Agency for the Safety of the Monarchy had a disturbed look on his face. Queen Seria spoke. “As you know, our military forces have left for the forward bases and to defensive locations to fend off any possible invasions, leaving. That leaves our defenses and the forces at our command when dealing with the Parliamentary plots limited. Furthermore, something is going on in the homeland. The Minister of Police has disappeared and we are not getting any commutation from the branches of the various police agencies in the homeland and all we are getting are a string excuses for this. The Prime Minster must up to something. Lord Herasi does the R.A.S.M. have any information?”

Lord Herasi spoke. “Apparently, the Prime Minster has been secretly training a large secret Paramilitary Police Force who arrested all our police and likely the Minster of Police and his staff over night in a massive highly organized secret raid. It is likely they used the long abandoned underground bases of the TLPA to train the forces. One night everyone went to sleep and when they woke up the Parliamentary policemen were everywhere taking the place of our police forces.”

Queen Seria frowned. “We can’t call back the military, not in major war such as these even though I would like to since Parliament decided to make a failed power play into a war. Lord Herasi, set R.A.S.M. try to prevent what happened in the homeland from happening here in the home systems and in the colonies; also warn the police agencies Directors and the locate police chiefs. Also inform the Commander of the Palace guards that they need to go on alert and try to contact the guerrilla leaders and tell them their forces may be activated soon.” She looked at the whole council. “We are now entering into a deadly game with the prime Minster. The game of Thrones and if we lose we will die or worse. Council dismissed.” She watched as the council members filed out, after the last council member filed out a rough deep voice came out of the shadows. “My Queen, you are not doing well, you need more rest. Queen Seria slumped in her chair. “I know, but there is so much to do.” She sat there a few moments. “Yosi.” The shadowy figure responded. “Yes my queen.” Queen Seria continued. “We need to move my family to a secure location if the palace falls into hostile hands. Somebody must be able to lead loyalist forces.” The hidden figure responded. “It shall be done. Your family will be moved to secure locations.” There a sound like somebody leaving the room though a secret passage and Queen Seria sighed. The stress of the past weeks was clearly showing on her face as she sat there.

Admiral Huturdo Himusai stared intently at the commanders before him in his office; all of them were Admirals in the Imperial Space Navy and had been hand picked for what was now called Operation Kami. After clearing his throat and making sure he had all their attention he began.

“I am sure you are wondering about the unusually fleets you have taken command of and have trained for the last 18 weeks. You are here to take part in one of the most important operations of the war. When the enemy begins hostilities your fleets will move into enemy space and harass their supply lines, hit where you can their bases, attack lone enemy warships when plausible and generally cause a nuance. The goal of this operation is to demoralize the enemy, disrupt their supply lines and force them to call back their forces. The Main fleets and forces will be defending our Home systems and colonies. You are not however allowed to attack civilian targets or merchant ships. We will not give the enemy any chance to label us as Pirates or waging war on civilians. You have your orders. Report to your fleets at once and wait for the go orders.”

Admiral Huturdo Himusai sighed as he watched the Admirals leave, he didn’t like giving these orders because of the great risk involved, if the enemy fleets caught this fleets they would likely be wiped out but he had no choice, the Tordorans out numbered his forces and he had to better the odds somehow and he could think of no other way to do it though it was highly unorthodox means.

Gersta Space, 5 hours from entering the border of the farthest Zerni Space.

The Vanguards of the Tordoran forces approached the Zerni Border space with grim intent. Their targets were the Zerni trading colonies in the Nikiski, Miasma, Kiribati and Karamu systems. The systems themselves were not significant; they were little more than convenient stopping points upon entry into Zerni space in that section of the galaxy. Their populations were diminutive; the largest of them, Miasma had a population of only 15,000 thousand. What was significant was the intention that the Tordorans were going use the systems for, as platforms bases for the Tordorans to launch further attacks into Zerni space. It was critical for the strategic plans of the Tordoran High Command that the systems fell into Tordoran hands for the next phase of the war to begin.

Earth, the Tordoran Homeland, Parliamentary Capital of New Tordor City.

Prime Minster Keri Hurusami smiled as she read the report that the forces were in place to move against the royalists and that the loyalist police forces in the Tordoran home systems and the outer colonies seemed ignorant about what was going on though the palace guard had stepped up its defenses. In five hours according to reports the Vanguards of the Tordoran offenses would be moving to seize control of the systems that would be used as forward bases in the war, her forces were ordered move to take control of what wasn’t already under the control of Parliamentary or rather her police forces and take care of the queen and her high council. Everything was in place and soon the game would begin. She turned to her other work. Hmm what to do about those primative tribes that somebody had failed to notice in Tordoran Nasseriya and with the Nasseriyans themselves...

The day after the palace guard is increased, the Ministry of Intelligence quietly removes the 1,240 Xanthalians in Tordoran territory and transports them back to the Aellis system on Armada-owned Gilgamesh class starships. What few Xanthalian ships remain docked at Tordoran facilities leave, and all scheduled flights to and from Tordor are cancelled. The Xanthalian government takes less decisive action in Zerni, issuing a recommendation to its 2,100 citizens there that they return to the Republic as soon as possible and reducing their civilian transport routes there to one Gilgamesh class starship arriving and departing per day.

The Nikiski, Miasma, Kiribati and Karamu systems:

The Defenses of the Nikiski, Miasma, Kiribati and Karamu systems were simple, the Zerni never believed they would able to hold the border systems against attackers so all the systems had were the equivalent to an carrier wing, 300 TSNF-7s and 50 TLRSF-7s based at an Small star base in high Orbit above the Colony in each system and an orbital Laser Defense Grid. The point was to delay the enemy and give a chance for the warning of attack to spread out across Zerni space.

The Nikiski, Miasma, Kiribati and Karamu systems:

In each system, the vanguards of the Tordoran forces arrived; one full fleet with planetary assault ships departed Gersta Space into normal on the edges of the Solar Systems and set a course for the Zerni colonies in the system.

Tordoran Home Systems and Colonies:

At the exact time the Tordoran Vanguards were expected to arrive at their target systems phase two of the coup began. Parliamentary paramilitary police forces stormed the Royal Police, TP and Tank Police stations and headquarters. However unlike in the Tordoran Homeland on Earth and unlike what the parliamentary forces had been led to believe, the Loyalists were guard for an attack and soon the sounds of handgun, TSR-7s heavy assault rifles, tank and blaster fire as well as the clashing of swords could be heard as the loyalists fought back against the forces of parliament.

Around the Palace similar sounds could be heard with the addition of light artillery fire as the Palace Guard fought back against the attacking forces. Unlike the battles around the police stations, the Palace guard was greatly out numbered, the Prime Minster had believed in taking no chances of letting the Queen escape though it was unknown that the Queen had already gotten her family to safety.

Inside the Tordoran Palace:

Queen Seria waited patiently on her throne, a fine Tordoran Broad Sword and a Geran 9mm Special rested on her lap. The commander of the guard had already tried earlier to get her to withdraw but she steadfastly refused. Her family had been removed from the Palace already and she was not going flee from her own Palace, she would face down the usurpers her self. The Burst open as the parliamentary forces fought though the guards outside the doors. Queen Seria rose from her sit and faced down the parliamentary goons with the pistol in her right hand and the sword in her left. A man with the Markings of an Major step forth and began to speak however Queen Seria cut him off before he could really say anything. “I know why you are here. You are here to arrest me in the name of Parliament or rather the Prime Minster in her coup of the government and hold me in house arrest no doubt until she decides I should die in some manner. I think not. I will not yield to thee” Seria aimed the Pistol and fired at the intruders and opened fire.
Scene fades out and the sound of sub automatic gun gunfire can heard in response.

The Tordoran Fleets deployed their Geran F1 Star fighters as they approached the Zerni colonies' defenses and the battle really began.

Tordoran Homeland, Earth:

Prime Minster Keri Hurusami cursed when she got the reports about phase two of eliminating Queen Seria’s interference. Things had not gone as planned; the Royalist forces were expecting the attacks and now instead of a clear cut take over there were battles erupting all over the Tordoran Home Systems and the outer colonies as Parliamentary and Royalist police forces fought back and forth. In some places the Royal police were defeated in others her forces had been crushed, especially when dealing with the special police forces. The result of this was a patch work of Parliamentary and Royalist controlled territory inside cities with fighting continuing. What was worse was that while the Palace was successful stormed, Queen Seria had been killed by those sent to place her under house arrest and the rest of the Royal Family was not even in the Palace. This meant she was now stuck with damage control. She could not let it get out that the Queen had been killed, especially to the Tordoran Military forces. She would have to modify her plans, the Zerni would jump to use the news of the death if they found out to demoralize the Tordoran forces and get them to turn back to deal with the problems at home. She could not allow that. The military had to be kept in the dark and busy with the war… She sent orders for the police that killed Queen Seria to be executed along with any survivors of the palace guards and the palace staff. She arranged for orders to be sent to the military forces to eliminate the Zerni populous on the Zerni colonies in the Nikiski, Miasma, Kiribati and Karamu systems that were going to be used as forward bases to eliminate any possible spies and resistance. Also they were to keep it quiet and hide the evidence of what was done to the populous. Next they were ordered to conduct planetary bombardment of any further targets and to use any means necessary to eliminate resistance of the enemy forces and populations. Such actions would force the Zerni to fight much more fiercely and keep the military forces busy lest the Zerni counterattack with an vengeance.

As the Tordoran systems come into range the orbital defense satellites open fire though the defense satellites were more geared towards stopping pirate raids and small scale vessels than an invasion fleet. Down below on the colonies, Zerni nobles in direct defiance of the Mega Corporations that normally dominate Zerni life were evacuating the population into the wilderness surrounding the settlements in an attempt to save as many lives as possible before fighting broke out on the planets themselves.

Tordoran Home Worlds, Tordora. Dora Caverns, Hersi Mountains

Crown Princess Ranki Threpes looked around at what would be her new home for now. The Dora Caverns was a system of caves located in a remote part of the Hersi Mountains that ran up and down, like a spine, the central continent of Tordora. It had been long converted into a secret base by R.A.S.M. and it was where the counter operations against the Parliamentary forces would be waged. Things were not looking good though. The Palace had been stormed by the enemy successfully but nobody knew wither her Grand Mother was even alive or not. Thanks to the secret subspace relay network her grandmother had ordered set up without the knowledge of Parliament she was able to tell what was going on in the other Tordoran Home Worlds and in the Colonies though not in the Tordoran Homeland on Earth. There was vicious street fighting between the Parliamentary paramilitary police forces and the royal police force that were being overrun slowly but surely by the forces against them. The special police forces of the TP had fought their way out of their police stations and were now forming resistance cells. The Tank Police forces had so far managed to keep control of the segments of the cities around their stations. The more worrying problem was out in the countryside where the Parliamentary Police forces had eliminated the Royal police forces. That would have checked. She sent out orders on the relays that would activate the extremely highly trained guerrilla armies and bands that Tordor was so famed and feared for and which had time and again saved Tordor from its enemies. The Tordoran military was an away but what Parliament would soon enough discover, the Monarchy always had another line of defense.

She scowled at what had happened. If it was plausible for her to be dispassionate about what had happened she could admire what the corporate controlled Parliament had done. This had have been in the works for years, decades of secret planning and slowly building up of forces to silently eliminate what power the monarchy had to check the corporation and the abuses of Parliament with an paramilitary police force and drawing the military way from home with an war with an old enemy. It had almost worked, if they timed it so their actions in the homeland took place at the same time or with a day of what they had just tried in the Home Worlds and the colonies it would have worked. However this was not something she could be dispassionate about…

Back in Xanthal, the government has decided to hold back on taking action. With the fallout of relations with Zerni in the critical hour, no one wanted to risk direct involvement. However, there was one thing that had been overlooked between dealing with the active conflict and the trade issue at home. In the Kiribati and Karamu systems, five seperate Xanthalian civilian trading and passenger ports are helpless against the assault, their defensive weapons and shields horribly inadequate to the task of protecting them. Many of the people aboard them simply huddle in fear, a few attempt to evacuate in escape pods and shuttles. None dare to fire on the battleing fleets. On the planets themselves, between the four Zerni systems under attack, sixteen more Xanthalian citizens find themselves trapped; searching for cover frantically alongside the Zerni natives.

The outdated Geran F-1 star fighters were quickly overwhelmed by the more Modern Zerni Star fighters and their sheer numbers. However the Fleets merely opened up with anti star fighter laser fire as they approached the planets and began firing on the orbital defenses. Meanwhile the Hunri Class Planetary Assault Ships broke away from the fleets and began their approach for landing on the colonies. For the moment, the Tordoran forces would ignore the Xanthalian Ports, in favor of securing the planet below though that didn’t mean they might not get hit the crossfire between the Zerni orbital defense and the Tordoran fleets.

As the Tordoran Fleets came even closer, the orbital star bases began to exchange sublight missile and laser cannon fire with the Tordoran fleets even as the orbital satellite laser cannons were being destroyed. By now the settlements on the planets were long evacuated into the wilderness to prepared camps where they would make their next moves to safer locations away from the colony settlements which would soon be in enemy hands.

The Tordoran fleets opened fire on the Zerni Star bases and in some fleets, the ship captains and commanders mistook the Xanthalian ports for the Zerni Orbital Star bases and opened fire on the Xanthalian ports in the systems they were in. Though the Tordoran Admirals in charge of the fleets quickly ordered them to stop, the damage was generally already done. The Admirals quickly radioed back to attack headquarters of the incidents via subspace relay when they took place but quickly returned to the attack.

Unfortunately with the erupting civil war unfolding back in Tordor and the plots of the Prime Minster targeting the Tordoran high command, the Tordoran vanguard is unaware of the incoming Xanthlian forces coming to evacuate the remaining Xanthalians and is still operating under original orders to prevent entrance to the systems by any non Tordoran forces. Meanwhile back in Tordor battles erupt in the countryside between royalist guerrilla forces and the paramilitary forces of the Parliamentary coup and in the cities vicious street battles continue and intensify as the Royal forces fall back and regroup slowly forming constant areas of control. Also the Technology Police units began a calculated electronic guerrilla war against the forces of the coup, confusing and changing orders as well as other much more damaging activities.

In the Kiribati and Karamu systems, the Admirals in charge of the vanguards in those systems stopping the Xanthalian fleets repeatly relayed messages to high command which failed to send further orders dealing with the Xanthalians. High Command had it own problems at the moment and communication between fleets and to high command was down or jammed. The Prime Minster was slowly replacing Admirals and captains with her own people by means of removing troublesome Loyalists by convenient accidents and disappearances and putting charge her own bought and controlled people. However there were those who had began suspected something was wrong, a few admirals and generals, some captains and others. Lack of personal communication from the Queen, strange orders, an utter lack of communication with the home systems, even letters had stop coming, the disappearances and overly convenient accidents. Things were slowly coming to a head, all it would take would be the wrong person to be targeted to soon and there would be fighting in the Royal Forces

It is released that afternoon on Xanthalian domestic and international news channels that Keri Hurusami has staged a covert coup of the Tordoran government.

IC: The Broadcast is blocked from entering many of the Tordoran colonies, all of the home systems and the homeland on earth, however that didn’t matter as the colonies and the Home Systems were utter chaos as fighting already raged between loyalist police and guerrilla forces and the Parliamentary paramilitary forces. The broad cast was picked up by the Tordoran Royal forces, both the Fleets and in the bases and soon all hell broke loose. Whether in the Nikiski, Miasma, Kiribati and Karamu systems among the vanguard fleets, the main fleets on route, and other fleets back in the Tordoran forward base systems or else where in Tordoran space, among the bases of the Tordoran army and Royal Space marines and other locations, fighting erupted as loyalists and forces subverted by the Prime Minster erupted. On planetary and moon bases, in orbital and star bases, stations and outposts, in-between ships and fleets even aboard ships the fighting raged until the Tordoran forces was completely thrown into chaos.

IC: Using the decidedly occupied Tordoran forces' weakened defense grid, three of the smaller Xanthalian ships in Admiral Hatcher's fleet slip into the system and do their best to retrieve Xanthalian survivors while the rest take potshots at nonloyalist-commanded Tordoran ships.

IC: Admiral Huturdo Himusai read the reports of the blazing vicious civil war that had built up among the Tordorans and grinned. This was perfect; he could retake the trading colonies and open them back up for business as soon as the local Zerni nobles brought the locals back out of hiding and cleaned up a little. The Tordorans would be to busy fighting each other to really defend it or to even really try to take it back. He sent orders via subspace radio relays for the special fleets he sent out to divert to the captured Zerni border systems to take them back. The Tordorans would be busy from the looks of it an while… especially with some encouragement…

The Xanthalian fleet returns to its home ground with the few dozen people they could find alive. The Xanthalian government releases a statement the next day:
"Xanthalian territory will henceforth be a safe haven for loyalist Tordoran forces. Our facilities will repair and resupply loyalist vessels free of charge. Though our intelligence indicates that the Queen is dead, we will continue to show our support for her through our actions in this conflict. Let it henceforth be known that all Xanthalian relations with the false leader of the Tordoran state, Keri Hurusami, have been severed. By unanimous decision in the Triumvirate and a 10/12 vote in the Council a state of war now officially exists between the Socialist Republic of Xanthal and the Tordoran Prime Minister and her forces. The Xanthalian Armada will be mobilized immediately to seek out and destroy the Prime Minister's forces with the help of any Tordoran loyalists willing to cooperate with us. Keri Hurusami has twenty hours to surrender to the Socialist Republic and spare herself and her nation a war that they will surely lose."

The declarations made by Xanthal were not even heard by either Tordoran Factions as the two factions military forces slowly separated from each other to lick their wounds from the chaotic fighting that had left their forces decimated on both sides. An electronic war was raging as both sides launched all out electronic attacks and counter attacks, totally disrupting nearly all communications in and near Tordoran Space as well as causing other problems. As the Xanthalian deadline nears, the loyalist military forces withdrew to the 5 Tordoran Home Systems to regroup, leaving the Tordoran Colonies under the control of the Prime Minster forces, adding in the homeland on earth, most of Tordoran Space and half of the Tordoran population was in territory controlled by the Prime Minster’s forces with only police and guerrilla forces fighting back.

However neither side was able to do anything more than control its territory. Half of what had been one of the largest military forces in the galaxy had been decimated in the resulting infighting chaos before the forces separated, an third of which especially in the navies were unable fight for one reason or another at the moment. Many ships and star fighters were badly damaged or disabled as well as thousands of tanks and mechs. As the deadline arrived little more than skirmishing along the new fronters between the two forces as they began to rebuild their forces for renewed conflect.

OOC: You're not going to make this easy for me, are you?

IC: A frontrunning force is sent by the Xanthalian Fleet Admiral to make direct contact with the Tordoran loyalist forces, but that group is turned back by the enormous communications interference. The Xanthalian Triumvirate is informed that their earlier announcement may not have been recieved by the Tordorans, but they determine after a short debate that their earlier declaration stands. A full sixteen hours after the orginal deadline has passed, the frontrunning group; composed of one Eclipse class, five Super Dreadnaught class, two Zabertini class, twelve Dreadnaught class, five Rhade class, and fifteen Sabre class vessels; leaves the Aellis system for loyalist territory again, armed with communications devices that can penetrate the intense interference around the combat zone.

The special Zerni Fleets meant originally to operate behind enemy lines arrived in the Nikiski, Miasma, Kiribati and Karamu systems. The fleets were unusual and more for harassment behind enemy lines than to fight an enemy battle fleet. Each fleet boosted four Princess Linda Star Carriers, thirty Vera Class Patrol ships, eighty Lina class Fleet Assault ships, and ten Torl Class Scout ship. This lack of numbers and forces mainly made of light ships didn’t matter for two reasons. The enemy forces had been decimated by infighting and had left the systems and the fact there 5 such fleets entering each system. The Zerni entered quickly and by the time the Xanthalian Forerunning force had reentered war Torn Tordoran space the clean up was under way to get the trading colonies running again. IC: The Xanthalian forerunner force though it was cutting though enemy controlled territory would meet almost no enemy ships other than an few long ranging star fighters. Even long the frontier around the Tordoran home Systems, only skirmishing that had been taking place was still going on with star fighters and few patrol ships that were not in repair docks, waiting to go into repair docks or conducting repairs on their own. Neither side wanted to risk what corvettes, frigates, destroyers, and battle cruisers that were battle ready. The Xanthalian force would have little trouble reaching Loyalist space.

When they entered the 9 planet system they would find besides the Planet Tordora two other habitable planets with massive space docks above them, a massive star base half the size of earth's moon and even massive star base the size of the earth’s moon that was the fleet headquarters for the Tordoran Royal Space Navy. Like in the other Tordoran home systems which had vast space docks of their own and a massive space station much activity could be detected. Repairs on many hundreds of ships ranging from Battle Cruisers to tiny patrol ships could be seen and the few remaining undamaged or lightly damaged ships were seen docked with one of the two massive stations... The next thing that caught the eye or in some people the first thing was the nasty, powerful looking orbital defense stations and satellites around the planets and the fact the Star Base and the Fleet headquarters looked fully capability of defending against attack and launching vast amounts of star fighters to attack an attacking force.

As you have likely gathered those numbers have been cut in half by the chaotic fighting that erupted before the forces separated, at best right now until more ships can be build, brought out of mothballs and crews and when repairs can be completed I will be able excluding planetary assault ships muster 145 assorted Warships. There is a similar situation with the royal army, the only bright side being that the enemy is in the same boat with for now a same number of ships and ground forces. The Xanthalian fleet arrives one week later, just as promised. The force is under the command Fleet Admiral Samuel Ichib himself, under explicit orders from the Xanthalian government to follow any orders he is given by the Tordoran princess "within the boundaries of reason to protect the loyalist forces and eliminate armed rebels with significant consideration to the well-being of civilians and an underlying knowledge of his responsibility to the Xanthalian government and his force."
After spending an hour in his briefing room with the four admirals he is working with, they deciphered the government's instructions to basically mean "follow the princess' orders as long as they don't involve killing non-militants or non-rebels or the complete and total destruction of your fleet. Use your god damn head." The Xanthalian government has a knack for making things complicated. He hails Tordora. OOC: Gee what does that say about a Tordoran saying that about another Tordoran. One thing for you Tordorans are a small people, 5 foot 4 is an average height for a Tordoran male. That’s why Tordorans generally started out buying their military equipment from the Japanese. . So expect the proportions inside the bases, ships and the equipment to be an little smaller scale.

The Fleet Admiral shakes his head. No matter how many times he heard it, the number of systems they were dealing with boggled his mind. The Tordorans wrote the book on unnecessary expansion. "Indeed. The Xanthalian fleet here consists of eight Eclipse class vessels, fifty Super Dreadnaughts, one hundred Dreadnaughts, two hundred Sabre class ships, fifty Rhade class ships, fifty Intrepids, and forty-two Andromeda class starships. As is typical of Xanthalian fleets, our strongest suit is defense. We are quick and able and we have average weapons capability, but we will be unable to conduct any significant stealth operations. I recommend you use our resources as defensive hardpoints and for prolonged sieges to enemy strongholds. Now, what are your fleet's top objectives in the immediate future?"

The Systems I want take away from the enemy the most are the Zam, Dorm, Borm, Vorm, Dorm, Toram, Urm, Boran and Toran systems, that is where the most of the enemy’s space docks and the largest outposts in the colony systems are, I want to deprave them of the majority of their space docks and it will be harder to do if they have enough time to repair the defenses. Rena handed over an folder which listed the sort of defenses in the Zam, Dorm, Borm, Vorm, Dorm, Toram, Urm, Boran and Toran systems that were the planned first targets, each system had an Colonial defense station and around the planets the systems were an Orbital defense satellite network. These would have taken out before any landings on the planets could be done. However to any attacker’s advantage, many of the satellites and the defense stations were badly damaged from the chaotic fighting and the remaining satellites were vulnerable to Star fighters.

Colonial defense stations: These stations act as defense systems against attacks against the Tordoran Space colonies, they are the launching places of the Tordoran Space fighters and come with a barrage of Sub light missiles along with batteries of long ranged antiship and short ranged defensive laser and particle cannons. Each station is crewed by 3,000 men including space marines and can field 250 star fighters. The Stations in the targeted systems were double in size, star fighters and firepower but heavily damaged and with their numbers cut down.

Orbital Defense satellite: Mounting a powerful Laser or Partial beam cannon, these satellites are mainly dangerous to ships in numbers and are serious threat to any landing ships meant to deploy troops.

Sam nods, tucking the folder under his arm. "Thank you. So, what's our first objective?"

OOC: You're one of the only people that doesn't get pissed off that defense is my strong suit. If other people can have fleets of planet-killing starships, I can have my fleet that stands up to them.

Rena spoke. "Knocking out the weaken defenses of the Zam, Dorm, Borm, Vorm, Dorm, Toram, Urm, Boran and Toran systems in preparations to retake the systems would be good but our first objectives is to take out the space docks in those systems to deny the enemy the ability to repair major damage to their ships. We deny them the space docks, any repairs they have to make that require them will be unable to complete and insure fewer ships for us to fight. Anything else is a secondary objective with those systems. Significant stealth will not be a problem, with this bloody electronic war going on. You could sneak one of those massive Zoir Imperial Battleships or an battle fleet for that matter into the system without being detected until you’re in range of your weaponry. That means the enemy will have send ships for reinforcements and that takes time especially for an enemy that is spread out with limited ships."

OOC: It just makes it more interesting, it’s a just a different design plan focusing more on defense.

Rena mused for an moment then spoke. "No, but I recalled something I forgot in all the chaos. I was the Admiral in charge of the defenses in Zam system and I made sure that I slagged the main shield generators on the Colonial defense station there So the shields there will be extremely weak most likely, much more so than in the other target systems, if they are up at all."
Xanthal
26-06-2004, 04:04
The Fleet Admiral makes a fist. "Then that should be our first target. If defenses are weak the rebels will have ships to protect the area. If we strike quickly we can eliminate any ships there and retake the station with boarding parties before their shields are operational. I can move my fleet out in fifteen minutes. Do you agree?"

In the Zam system, enemy warships most of them in need of massive repairs waited, repairs greater than what could be done shipboard however was impossable as the space docks had been bady damaged and were under repair, the Colonial defense station looked extremely battered and it could be seen that repairs were slowly under repair, star fighter wreakage floated around the base and an weak shield meant to fend off meterites detected could up around the station, the main sheild generaters had not be replaced yet, it wasn't certain that the parts needed were even in the system or where exactly they could found much to the displeasure of the new admiral in command of the system would steadly cursed up an storm at her loyalist predessor for causing such problems for her.

"Acknowledged." Sam moves his fleet out at 1,000,000 SL towards the Zam system. Current projections look extremely good. Most of the ships in the area are damaged, and the defense station is all but useless. What would be a fairly difficult engagement under normal circumstances has become many times easier thanks to the chaos of the war and the brutally effective results of the Marshal's sabotage. The Xanthalian fleet approaches the system already prepared for battle, slipfighters at the fore. The combat-ready force slows to sublight at the system's edge and issues an immediate hail to everything in the sector. "This is the Xanthalian Royal Task Force under the command of Her Royal Majesty Crown Princess Ranki Threpes. This system and its facilities are the rightful property of the Tordoran Royal House. Surrender immediately or we will open fire."

IC: The surrendering ships are boarded and covered by their captors. The captain of the Zabertini-class XAS-181 though has had enough of the Rebel Admiral. The ship fires its forward weapons at the weakened patrol ship at full power.

OOC (again): You may not be familiar with the Zabertini class. It's our newest ship class. You remember the Dreadnaughts and Super Dreadnaghts though. The Zabertini class was designed to replace them. It's about as powerful as a Super Dreadnaught, with the size, speed, and maneuverability of a Dreadnaught. This is the factbook entry:
Zabertini class (medium tactical): $1,000,000,000,000
The Zabertini class is primarily an assault vessel. Well-balanced and extraordinarily powerful for a ship of its size, the Zabertini class commands a large arsenal and a full complement of subsystems, including a phased cloaking device.

Like the Zam system Dorm, Borm, Vorm, Darm, Toram, Urm, Boran and Toran systems were the most devloped colony systems, they each had three inhabitable worlds of various degrees, with several trading stations, orbital space ports and an series of space docks orbiting the various inhabitable planets. Each of them had an identical colonial defense station to ZAM but with operational sheilds last reported. It was suppected that many of the enemies larger ships were in the docks under going massive repairs with an guard force of dozen Patrol ships and wings of star fighter for patroling protection.
Xanthal
15-08-2004, 21:00
With the intelligence in hand, the Admiral forms his strategy and puts his fleet in slipstream. The plan was to drop small sections of the fleet into normal space just over the docks and snap-assess which, if any, of the ships in them were operational. The order was to destroy any operational ships in drydock before they could respond. The main fleet would drop out of slipstream in a single force less than five seconds later and assess the status of the defense station. If it was safe, they would begin an assault. If not, they would sweep around and eliminate the enemy ships around the docks and take shelter from the station behind the nearest planet while a solution could be found. Samuel smiles. He loved tactics.
Tordor
17-08-2004, 03:46
The defense stations in each system while in better shape were still not in an postion to fight an enemy fleet of more normal sizes much less the coming armada. Colonal defense stations were normally and suplemantary defenses with their star fighters, deadly dangers to small groups of miltary ships, pirate ships and small pirate fleets but only an delay on their own to an full miltary fleets much less to an massive fleet like the Xanthalian Armada. However half of the defense cannons were off line and an third of the sublight missile launchers were out of action along with an forth of the antistar fighter laser cannon batteries.

IC: The first section of the Xanthalian fleet arrives almost perfectly. One ship is a kilometer out of position, but immediately begins to turn. They scan the ships in stardock to assess if any of them are operational.
Tordor
21-08-2004, 22:53
None of the ships have their weapons on that do work, mainly do to the nature of the space docks design, if they started shoting what weapons they had available they'd damage or destroy the docks, the docked ships were also secured for repairs that meant they could not easly leave the docks. This was normally an security precaution, now in the face of an overwelming enemy force this left the ships helpless.

Elsewhere the prime minster was receiving the news very poorly, as shown by the flying objects. Her miltary Admirals were telling her they couldn't fight the enemy, the Royal forces controled home systems were to fortifed and held the majority of the country's space docks, they enemy would have their ships ready before she would and now ship delivered communation had been lost to one of the few systems that had space docks and were under her control. If she lost those systems she wouldn't be able to repair the ships they had and there was no way she be able to wage an war if that happened. What the hell was going on. The Royalists couldn't be able wage an offensive...
Xanthal
22-08-2004, 01:37
Assured that the ships in dock didn't pose an immediate threat, and recieving no immediate retaliation from the enemy fighters, the ships do not engage the enemy as the main fleet arrives, strategically posed to fire on the defense station. The Admiral issues the same surrender order he had in the previous system. "This is the Xanthalian Royal Task Force under the command of Her Royal Majesty Crown Princess Ranki Threpes. This system and its facilities are the rightful property of the Tordoran Royal House. Surrender immediately or we will open fire."

In this system 4 damaged battle cruisers, 8 frigates , and 60 Patrol ships along with Star fighter wings, 2 station based and 10 ground based. However the Royalists were well adviced of this gatheringn by defecters and what they knew, the Xanthalians knew.
