--Dregruk International News, 1700 hours--

*A woman sits at a desk in a grey suit, camera zooms in as lights turn on*

"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. This is an emergency bulletin. We go live to the Government building in Ghastopol, where Dictator Hrrachen is making a very important speech."

*Camera cuts to man in uniform standing at a podium, with hundreds of people massed in front of him. He is flanked by bodyguards in black suits. Behind him stands Warchief Grimzag Deathjaw, Dregruk's head of Military, in full military uniform.*

"... our nation is in crisis! At this moment in time, people are taking up arms against the Militarist government, led by a man determined to cripple our society and end all that Dregruk stands for! We cannot allow this to happen! People of Dregruk, of the WORLD, help the army beat down these lunatic rebels! Dregruk's future is at stake!"

--End transmission--

*Warchief Deathjaw's office, Government Buildings, 1735 hours*

"So we're certain?"
"I'm afraid so, sir."
"Yajik, why? He served in the armed forces for a decade! He was at my right hand the whole time! Why?!"
"We believe he became greedy. He wants everything you and Hrrachen have. And more."

Grimzag sighed, and banged his huge fist off his table.

"Extend an international plea for help."

OOC: More to follow, stay tuned...

[OCC: Tag, for possible involvement. Few questions though: Whats your tech level, and are your citizens human?]
Dregruk

OOC: Modern tech, but a tiny bit of post modern (You may hear about railguns being used, but that's about as po-mo as it will go.). And yes, the people of Dregruk are human.

[OCC: Curses. Skeelzania is future-tech (spaceships and such), although our ground forces aren't all that advanced. I'm assuming your on Earth, another problem since were about 40,000 LY away. Thats what hyperdrive is for I suppose.

I'd be willing to send in troops to assist the goverment, but only if you give me the OK. I'd leave the power armor at home.]

OOC: As promised, here's a little bit more information as to what the Hell is going on...

IC:

Ex-Senior Corporal Brecht (Or High General Brecht as he was known now) sat in a darkened room, maps of Dregruk strewn all over his desk. The last few weeks had changed him. His face had lost its youthful enthusiasm. His eyes had lost their cheerful glint. Instead, a malicious glint hid behind them.

His coup had started better than he hoped it would. Already, the military had split massively in his favour. Of the 260 million people in the Dregruk armed forces, 72% had sworn their allegiance to him. Of course, the battle-hardened Dregruk Elites were still in support of the Government (Or more to the point, Warchief Grimzag). The Elites would be better than 60% of the armed forces under his control, which was a major black-eye. But he planned to get more support.

--Voice recording sent across the world through the internet--

"For too long have the people of Dregruk been under the foot of the military! The corrupt regime in power has stripped us of our rights, treating us as sub-humans! NO MORE! Already, the people of Dregruk are taking up arms against the evils of the Government! Aid our glorious cause! Help the Dregruk People's Freedom movement beat back the Government and begin a new age of peace, freedom and happiness!"

OOC: pssst! dregruk, it's 2.63 billion, not million

IC: the Jitanese Empire formally extends it's aid to the beleagured government of Dregruk, while many of our forces are currently out establishing the regional defence net, we have a few which can be spared, for stellar naval forces: 3 Oneth-class cruisers, 5 Manticore-Class frigates

Land forces: 10,000 infantry men, 100 Virgo III mobile suits (my version of armoured regiments, instead of tanks, we have mobile suits)

OOC: I'll try and post there Jitano, it's just I typed out a massive post then it never posted. I'm quietly boycotting it. For now. And that Aroarians guy is getting on my nerves.

Anyway, we need some more interest here (People, join up with the rebels! It's a two-sided war, y'know!)

OOC: Would someone PLEASE join the rebels? It makes this a little less one sided.

Emperor Rodrigo Justinian I monitors the situation carefully. As he ponders over what to do, he quietly prays to God and a side prayer to St. Ignatius Loyola. Maybe Pergutoria will intervene in favor of the government, but what will we get in return? Maybe, the rebels will offer more.........

5th Yazzim Reserve Regiment rolled its way towards the polarch chasm. The latest orders had come in, and they were to move the unit through the canyon to gain the element of surprise on the rebels being engaged to the south. The APCs filled with the troops trundled towards the looming mass of rock.

Corporal Frank Wirtanen sat in the driver’s seat of the APC that had been his second home for the last 49 tours of duty he’d served. He had been with the unit since he was a young man. Now he was a veteran, with a wife and kids. He kept a picture of them next to the wheel of the big vehicle. Here he was again, this time on his final tour. After this run, he was going home. He could spend his whole time with the people he loved.

His CEO since he started had been Commander Michael Granig. Everyone called him “Granite”, and one look at him would tell you why. Eyes like a cut stone. Greying hair. A few scars on his face. Everything about him commanded respect. Absolute respect. Even Dregruk’s hardest men would salute to him, even piss themselves if he looked at them in a mildly threatening way.

The radio in the APC crackled into life. “The reinforcements haven’t arrived yet? Are you sure we should go in?” said the front driver. Before Frank could pick up the radio, Granite picked it up. “We’re going in, boys, because we’re needed beyond this canyon. We can’t wait for the backup. They’ll just have to catch up with us.”

Granig was uneasy. The reinforcements would be needed. The APCs wouldn’t be able to take on any heavy buildups of enemy troops without the armour that wasn’t there. He silently prayed there wouldn’t be any rebels waiting for them in the canyon.

“Corporal, who’s leading the reinforcements?” He asked Frank.

“Commander Herglan, last I heard, sir.”

Granig wasn’t pleased to hear this news; Herglan was a good enough person, smart enough to go far... he just lacked the balls for the job, always falling short. And he was (No matter how much he tried to hide it from Granig) jealous of the famed commander.

It didn’t reassure him at all to hear that he was leading the armoured unit. And him being late didn’t give him much more confidence, either.

The APCs were nearing the edge of the valley when all Hell broke loose.

Pergutoria has decided to send aid to the rebels in form of monetary aid, military training, and asylum. If needed, the Imperial Pergutorian Armed Forces will intervene.

OOC: Following a large transfer of funds to several Swiss bank acounts with odd-sounding names, several Dark Argonian commando/assassin teams have sided with the rebel forces.

NOTE: These teams do not reflect the views of the Argonian people as a whole, and are few in number.

Commonly equipped with kevlar body armor reinforced with composite shockplates in key areas, and sporting specially-made balaclavas & kevlar helmets, the infamous commando teams of the Dark Argonian race are talented marksmen & infiltrators. While not inclined to engage in open combat, they are excellent CQB & guerilla fighters.

Most commando teams prefer a custom-built .45 caliber sub-machinegun built on a larger & heavier MP5SD5 frame, complete with integral surpressor. Most teams prefer the ACOG sighting configuation, while others use the Kobra sighting system, devloped for use with the Russian AK-47, but adapted for the MP5SD5/45 that the Dark Argonian commando teams prefer. Sidearms are standard .45 caliber Glock handguns with lithium night-sights & mounting rails for such accessories as tactical lights and laser aiming modules. Often, the sidearms carry external surpressors to keep operations discreet even in the event of a primary weapon malfunction or jam.
