The Traveller's Guide to Rotovia
==========================================
Welcome to the Travallors Guide to Rotovia, in this thread I will attempt to outline everything one should know before and whilst travelling inside Rotovia.
Preparations:
-Rotovia is a Western Nation with a huge Free Healthcare System and as such there are very few immunisations one would require.
-If you are staying in Rotovia for less than a month you will not require a Visa, and many people choose to stay in Rotovia for a few weeks and catch a boat to the Island of Crete for a few days then return.
-However, at just $45USD you can receive a 3 month VISA which includes Traveller's Insurance and other benifits.
-Before leaving you should brush up on Rotovian Law, as some isolated pockets of Rotovia maintain strange antiquated laws.
Getting There:
-Salutation Airways is Rotovia's leading commerical plane service and leaves from most International Airports of a daily basis. Flying in offpeak times, one can purchase an Economy Class Ticket for around $650USD one-way.
-Angel Airways is a classic example of Rotovian style and is reccomended for anyone who loves to travel in luxury. Planes leave International Airports at varying times and an average ticket could cost anywhere between $2000-$3000USD one-way.
-If you are a cash-concious traveller Cretian Air flies to the Island of Crete twice weekly from most International Airports and costs just $200USD. The planes fall short of luxury, however for an additional $50USD you may catch a connection into Rotovia.
Major Cities:
-Rotovia features two capital cities, firstly The Imperial City which once hosted the Administrive Capital of Rotovia's former Imperial Government. The City boasts some of the most stunning archetecture in the world. It is essentially made up of one huge city, leading off into a serires of nearly two hundred Estates owned by Rotovia's former Aristocracy. Most days at least one of the Baccheus Family Estates should be open, the Baccheus Family is Rotovia's most pronounced family including a vast majority of the Former Emperors as well as Rotovia's current President.
-The second capital city is known simply as Capital City to most foriegners, and even refered to as such by the locals. It is infact entitled Jàdoúte City, however the name is un-pronouncable to most non-Rotovians. This city is one of the world's largest city and a bustling economic and political capital. It's name infact means both Capital City and City of First Freedom in Rotovia's ancient language Rotasj'da.
-Rotovia also boasts a number of fine coastal cities all alive with art, culture and friendly locals. If you are looking for the art capital of the world, the City of Seutoni is for you. The Federal Government spends over $2 Billion a year on funding art projects, and a number of wealthy Patrons ensure a continious flow of artistic works.
-However, if nightlife is what you seek. Going further inland you can visit Farside City. The city was created in an area of Rotovia where drinking, entertainment and public decency laws were allowed to lapse. As a result the City is home to some of the most out-there nightclubs and streets claiming 24/7 parties.
People:
-The people of Rotovia are friendly and welcoming of tourists, they will enjoy discovering more about a person's culture and have a natural curiosity about foreign nations. It is worthy to note that Rotovian's enjoy travelling and probally already know the answers to the questions they are asking.
-Patriotism is a big thing in Rotovia, and it is advised you do not satirise their government or values as the average Rotovian will be quick to offend.
Laguage:
-There are only two offical languages in Rotovia; English and Rotasj'da. The later is rarely spoken and most Rotovians will also know at least two other laguages making conversation easy.
-English is spoken by the Rotovian in Cambridge English and is actually regulated by the Board of Rotoivan Language. If you find yourself getting strange looks from local Rotovians, it is most likely they are not used to "slang".
-Rotajs'da is infrequently spoken, however if you visit the Imperial City or tour some of the older towns it is usefull to know.
There are three dialects in Rotajs'da; Common, Nobile and Sanctified, Common is spoken by all classes in general conversation, Nobile was formerly for the Nobility only and is generally reserved for special signage or public speeches & lastly Sanctified is virtually never used and so complex the average Rotovian cannot speak more than one phrase.
The grammatic rules of Rotasj'da or a little tricky so the following phrases are in Common Rotajs'da and for general use:
Hello: Toúysi. Pronounced: Tor-see
How are you?: Tou'ya sovnéu tri? Pronounced: Toe-ya so-vah-new tree Literal Translation: "[hello verb] How have you served?"
Goodbye: Hoúysi. Pronounced: How-see
Left: Pouré. Pronounced: Poor-ray
Right: Shar. Pronounced: Shar
That's all I have time for now, I'll ad the rest and pictures tommorow
