OOC: Sub tactics

What is your nation's submarine doctrine?

I use mainly the US doctrine of stealth with most of my subs, that includes using them for missile strikes, killing ships, and Special Ops.
Subs operate solo in this doctrine.

I do have Russian subs and us a Soviet doctrine there. I have them work in groups to hunt and am not as worried about stealth as long as I can get a shot off.

I have some old Tango's (which I now sell) and put them in groups of as large as 10 and just go hunting on enemy battle groups, of course the Soviet doctrine is only used on cheap SSKs since the idea is the subs are expendible as long as you get a good kill. I find the mixture of tactics and choosing based on what abilities the sub has is important.

I would gladly use 5 Tango's to attack a Seawolf and fire torps from different angles in a coordinated attack. If I lose 4 and kill the seawolf, it is still a victory under Soviet doctrine since the Seawolf is worth more and not as numerous
